Medical and Martial God

Chapter 244: Chapter 244: The Death God Walks the Mortal Realm

Ten luxury cars, each worth tens of millions, drove in a motorcade down the highway, turning the heads of drivers and pedestrians alike.

The car carrying Kong Dongming’s family of three was in the center of the motorcade, with four cars in front and five behind, ensuring they were well protected.

Just then, the driver, Leng Yue, received a message: ”Someone is following us!”

A cold glint flashed in Leng Yue’s eyes as she sent a group message: ”Speed up!”

The Blood Cloth Guards were infamous for their unbridled and fearless methods. On any other day, Leng Yue would have ordered the pursuers to be eliminated on the spot. But her mission today was to escort Kong Dongming’s family back to Jin Ye City, and causing complications was not an option. If an accident were to occur, she and the 36 Blood Cloth Guards with her could not bear the responsibility.

Instantly, the 10 luxury cars accelerated in unison. They began racing in formation, their astonishing speed and dazzling driving skills amazing all onlookers.

One driver with incredible skills is one thing. Ten drivers showcasing their skills in formation—that is truly on another level.

”Damn it, are those 10 professional race car drivers?”

In the car behind, the pursuing driver scrambled to keep up, cursing under his breath. A moment later, he lost them and had no choice but to report to his superior.

”Master, I’ve lost them,” he said.

A hoarse voice came from the phone. ”They have to take the highway to get to Jin Ye City. I’ve already made preparations at the highway entrance. Just head straight there.”

The 10 luxury cars sped onward.

When they finally reached the highway entrance, just as they were getting on, they found the road ahead completely sealed off by seven or eight vehicles parked haphazardly. More than 20 black-clad, masked men holding machine guns were lined up in an arc, unleashing a barrage of fire at the motorcade.

Kong Dongming, Qiu Yunxuan, and Kong Ruoruo were so terrified their scalps went numb.

”It seems the Lian Family has no intention of letting us leave Qingfeng Road alive,” Kong Dongming said angrily.

”Leng Yue, what do we do now? There are so many of them, and they all have guns! We can’t escape!” Kong Ruoruo cried, her pretty face pale with fear.

Leng Yue said nothing. Her expression was unnaturally calm, but her eyes seethed with a torrent of killing intent.

The dense hail of bullets striking the luxury cars composed a chaotic requiem. Strangely, despite the intense fire, the bullets only left tiny marks on the cars’ bodies, while the glass remained utterly unscathed. The vehicles of the Blood Cloth Guards were all custom-made. On the surface, they appeared to be luxury cars worth tens of millions, but in reality, each one was valued at over a hundred million. Forget ordinary bullets; not even armor-piercing rounds from an anti-tank sniper rifle could harm the people inside. Even powerful explosives like bombs or rocket launcher shells could, at most, flip the vehicles over.

”Cut them down. Leave no one alive!” Leng Yue ordered suddenly, just as the 20-odd gunners finished their clips and began to reload.

At once, the doors of the four lead cars burst open almost simultaneously, and 16 people leaped out. They were not wearing the battle uniforms of the Blood Cloth Guards but were dressed in matching black T-shirts, black pants, black leather boots, black sunglasses, and black masks. Each of them brandished a gleaming curved saber.

After exiting their cars, they charged the gunners with incredible speed, moving like ghosts. Before Kong Dongming, Qiu Yunxuan, and Kong Ruoruo could even react, the 16 Blood Cloth Guards had already finished the job.

However, they did not return to their cars. Instead, they stood and watched coldly toward the highway entrance, where a dozen more vehicles were rapidly approaching.

”My god, Leng Yue, who exactly are you people?” Kong Dongming asked, stunned.

Qiu Yunxuan and Kong Ruoruo were completely petrified by the brutal efficiency of the 16 Blood Cloth Guards.

”Butchers,” Leng Yue said without expression. ”We exist for one purpose: to kill.”

She was not exaggerating. The Blood Cloth Guards had only one tactic—death. Any time they took action, it was destined to be an inhuman massacre.

”Is Ye Xiu your leader?” Kong Dongming asked, his scalp tingling with dread.

”He is the Hell Messenger, walking among mortals as the Death God’s emissary.”

Leng Yue retrieved her own weapons from beneath her seat. They were also curved sabers, but hers were smaller, and she carried a pair.

”Stay in the car. Do not get out,” she instructed before exiting the car, sabers in hand. At that exact moment, the 20 Blood Cloth Guards from the five cars in the rear disembarked and formed a protective circle around the vehicle carrying Kong Dongming’s family. Their mission was protection.

Leng Yue walked to the center of the highway, her cold gaze fixed on the dozen or so cars speeding toward her. The 16 Blood Cloth Guards fell into formation behind her.

SCREECH...

The dozen cars screeched to a halt, leaving crooked skid marks on the pavement. Fifty or 60 people, armed with swords and sabers, poured out of the vehicles, every one of them radiating a palpable killing intent.

Inside their car, Kong Dongming’s family turned deathly pale at the sight. These people wielded blades and were older, a clear sign that they were formidable Martial Artists. Moreover, they outnumbered Leng Yue’s side by nearly two to one. If they lost this fight... The Kong family did not dare to imagine the consequences.

”Did you kill those people?” the leader, a scruffy old man, asked, glancing at the corpses in the distance before fixing his cold gaze on Leng Yue. He was not carrying a sword or a saber but a long smoking pipe.

”Yes,” Leng Yue nodded, then asked, ”Why is the Lian Family pursuing the Kong Family so relentlessly?”

She was curious. If it were merely about Lian Chengbi’s infatuation with Qiu Yunxuan, it would not warrant such a massive commotion. There had to be a deeper reason. She had asked Qiu Yunxuan on the road, but the latter had been evasive and refused to say. Now, her only option was to ask the scruffy old man. If not for wanting the answer to this question, Leng Yue would not have bothered with words; she would have already started killing.

”Such ruthless methods,” the scruffy old man said coldly, ignoring her question. ”To dare kill members of the Lian Family, it seems you’ve all prepared to be killed yourselves, haven’t you?”

”Answer my question,” Leng Yue commanded.

”Impudent!” the scruffy old man roared. ”You dare to speak to me in that tone? You must be tired of living. Do you have any idea who I am? I am a newly reinstated War God on the War God Ranking, ranked 1,790.”

After speaking, he looked at Leng Yue and the Blood Cloth Guards with a smug smile. In his mind, learning that he was a War God would surely terrify them into kneeling and begging for mercy. The 50-odd Martial Artists behind him thought the same, and they watched Leng Yue’s group with mocking eyes.

”It seems you won’t answer my question willingly until you realize just how pathetic a War God truly is.” An astonishing killing intent suddenly surged from Leng Yue. She brandished her curved sabers and declared, ”Leave no one alive!”

With that, she charged, heading straight for the scruffy old man. The 16 Blood Cloth Guards attacked at the same moment.

”You overestimate yourselves. It seems you have no idea how powerful a War God is,” the scruffy old man sneered at the sight. He swept his smoking pipe through the air and commanded, ”Go! Let them experience what true strength is, what true despair is!”

”Yes!” the 50-odd Martial Artists roared, charging forward as one.

The scruffy old man, however, remained where he stood, a disdainful look on his face as he waited for Leng Yue to rush to her death.
