Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Ye Xiu’s Anger, The Bodyguard Suffers

”What’s the matter? Scared by who we are?”

Seeing Ye Xiu remain silent, the bodyguard assumed he was afraid and said proudly, ”The Lian family is one of the four great families of Qingfeng Road and the top family in the local Ancient Martial Circle. So far, I haven’t heard of anyone who offended the Lian family and came to a good end.”

In the back seat, Kong Ruoruo was terrified. In all of Qingfeng Road, only the Shen Family dared to oppose the Lian family. But with the Shen Family now about to form a marriage alliance with them, it meant that soon, no one in the entire region would dare to provoke the Lian family.

Now that Ye Xiu knows who they are, he surely won’t dare to help me anymore. Besides, I don’t want to drag him into this!

”Thank you for helping me, but you really can’t afford to offend the Lian family. I can’t drag you down with me.” Kong Ruoruo gritted her teeth, opened the car door, and jumped out. She then said to the four bodyguards, ”Take me away. Just don’t make things difficult for him.”

Ye Xiu’s eyes brightened. The girl isn’t old, but she’s very loyal. You don’t see that quality much these days.

”At least you know your place,” the bodyguard snorted and waved a hand. ”Take Kong Ruoruo away.” He then flipped his middle finger at Ye Xiu and said with disdain, ”I thought you were some tough guy, but you’re just a coward. PAH!”

”You really have a death wish,” Ye Xiu sneered. Getting out of the car, he stared coldly at the bodyguard and said, ”I’ll give you one chance. Let Kong Ruoruo go and get lost. Otherwise, you’ll face the consequences.”

”Oh?” The bodyguard laughed. ”What’s this? Did I get under your skin? You’re going to risk your life playing hero for the damsel in distress?”

The other three bodyguards also laughed, looking at Ye Xiu as if he were an idiot.

Kong Ruoruo grew anxious. ”Don’t be impulsive! Never mind the Lian family—you can’t even afford to offend them! These four bodyguards alone could beat you to death! Please, just go!”

”I already told you,” Ye Xiu said, giving her a reassuring look. ”With a name like Kong Ruoruo, no one is taking you anywhere.” He turned his cold gaze back to the bodyguards. ”I gave you a chance. I suggest you take it.”

”I think you’re tired of living!” The bodyguard, enraged by Ye Xiu’s indifference and arrogance, snarled, ”Since you’re looking for death, I’ll grant your wish!” He swung a punch at Ye Xiu’s face.

Kong Ruoruo sighed silently. It’s over. The man who saved me is finished. These four are all Second Grade Martial Artists.

The very next moment, however, a deafening slap echoed through the air. Kong Ruoruo stared, dumbfounded, as the bodyguard crumpled to the ground with a clear red handprint on his face. He didn’t get back up.

GASP!

Kong Ruoruo inhaled sharply. Is he really that strong?

Seeing Ye Xiu knock out their companion with a single slap, the other three bodyguards abandoned Kong Ruoruo and surrounded him.

”I didn’t realize you were a Martial Artist,” one of them said coldly. ”But let me warn you, kid, you’re in deep trouble now. Here in Qingfeng Road’s territory, offending the Lian family is no different from offending the King of Hell.”

”Are you going to fight or just keep talking?” Ye Xiu asked impatiently.

”You’re courting death!” the bodyguard roared. ”Let’s take him down together!”

”Right!”

The three Second Grade bodyguards attacked simultaneously. One threw a punch at Ye Xiu’s face, while the other two aimed kicks at his left and right hips. Behind him was the car, leaving no room for retreat.

With a coordinated attack like this, he has no way to dodge or escape. Once we hit him, he’ll be dead or severely injured! the three bodyguards thought.

”Garbage,” Ye Xiu muttered.

He leaped into the air, his feet connecting squarely with the faces of the bodyguards to his left and right, while his fist struck the forehead of the one in front.

BANG!

All three men were sent flying backward, landing in a heap on the ground, unconscious.

”Wow, that was so cool!” Kong Ruoruo was stunned by Ye Xiu’s stylish aerial move. She ran over, her face full of admiration. ”You’re amazing! Can you take me as your disciple? If I learn Martial Arts, I won’t have to be afraid of the Lian family anymore!”

Looking at her adorable expression, Ye Xiu patted her head and laughed. ”If I taught you Kung Fu, wouldn’t you become completely lawless?”

”I swear I won’t bully anyone after I learn Kung Fu!” Kong Ruoruo swore, raising a hand to the heavens.

”No, I can’t take you as my disciple,” Ye Xiu refused.

Kong Ruoruo grew desperate. ”Even though you beat these four, the Lian family won’t let my mother and me go! If you don’t teach me, my mom and I will just be waiting to die!”

Ye Xiu frowned. This is a problem. I can’t protect her forever. Plus, now that I’ve taken down their bodyguards, the Lian family will be furious. They might send people to her house as early as tonight.

”How about this,” he said. ”Give me your address. I’ll come find you after I’m done with my business. If the Lian family comes to your house to cause trouble, I’ll drive them off. I’ll make sure they never bother your family again.”

”Fine...” Kong Ruoruo pouted. She reluctantly told Ye Xiu her address, then walked away, casting many a sad glance back over her shoulder.

Watching her retreating figure, Ye Xiu’s heart ached with a piercing pain. If only Uncle was still alive... how wonderful that would be.

Just then, a text message appeared on his phone: ”All the masterminds have arrived.”

A cold, sinister smile spread across Ye Xiu’s lips. So, they’ve finally all gathered.

Meanwhile, in the banquet hall of the Lingjin Hotel, the room was buzzing with excitement. All the people who had framed Ye Xiu ten years ago were present, along with their families. It was a spectacular gathering indeed.

”Gao Hongquan, the celebratory banquet has started. Why hasn’t your son, Gao Wenshuai, brought Qin Qing yet?” Su Mo asked teasingly from the head seat.

”That’s right, Gao. Gao Wenshuai has been in Jin Ye City for a whole day. Don’t tell me he couldn’t find Qin Qing?”

Another guest added, ”After Ye Xiu’s death, Qin Qing probably went into hiding. It would certainly be tough for Gao Wenshuai to find her.”

”Qin Qing’s no fool,” someone else chimed in. ”She knows we’d come after her once Ye Xiu died, so it’s only normal that she’d run away.”

”I don’t think so,” a different voice countered. ”Qin Qing was deeply in love with Ye Xiu. Ten years ago, even under those circumstances, she dared to help him. She even personally handled the collection, cremation, and burial of his mother’s and maternal grandparents’ bodies. Now that Ye Xiu is dead, even if she wanted to flee, she’d at least wait until after his funeral.”

”Maybe there were too many people at the funeral for Gao Wenshuai to make a move?”

”That must be it!”

At that moment, Gao Hongquan chuckled. ”A father knows his son best. I know that boy of mine. The moment he sees a beauty like Qin Qing, he won’t be able to control himself.”

HAHAHA!

The entire hall erupted in laughter.

”Forget about him for now,” Su Mo said with a smile. ”Let’s start eating and drinking. By the time we’ve had our fill, Gao Wenshuai will be back with Qin Qing.”

”Good! Waiters, serve the food!” Gao Hongquan yelled.
