Chapter 224: Chapter 224: The Long Family’s Intention to Divide the Wealth of the Tiansha Association

After hanging up the phone, Ye Xiu was no longer in the mood to practice his martial arts. Ming Yue’s escape gave him an unsettling feeling, and it was an intense one.

”What happened?” Qin Qing asked, stopping her sword practice and walking over when she noticed Ye Xiu’s troubled expression.

Ye Xiu recounted the story of Ming Yue’s escape.

After listening, Qin Qing analyzed the situation. ”Ming Yue is an ordinary person; there’s no way she could have evaded the surveillance cameras. Besides, she knows exactly how powerful you are. She had lost all hope long ago, knowing that escape was futile. I think she must have been taken away by a martial artist. Otherwise, if she had escaped on her own, she wouldn’t have left her family behind.”

”That’s what I was thinking,” Ye Xiu said.

In truth, Qin Qing’s analysis was perfectly logical. However, neither she nor Ye Xiu had considered that Ming Yue had become a martial artist herself. Furthermore, after absorbing Mutou Bingyuan’s martial prowess, she had instantly become a Fifth Grade expert. Ming Yue chose to escape alone precisely to mislead Ye Xiu.

”Which martial artist would help Ming Yue? Or rather, what does the one who took her intend to do with her?” Qin Qing asked.

”Right now, Ming Yue’s only value is her intimate knowledge of me. The person who took her probably wants to extract information to use against me,” Ye Xiu surmised.

”Do you have any suspects?” Qin Qing asked.

”It might be the Shen Family, but I’m not certain,” Ye Xiu replied.

”You’re not planning on going to Qingfeng Road to confront the Shen Family, are you?” Qin Qing asked.

”I definitely have to go, but there’s no rush,” Ye Xiu said. ”The information on the Shen Family that Qing Luan sent me last night was very basic. It didn’t have what I need to know. It won’t be too late for me to go to Qingfeng Road after Gong Jin has thoroughly investigated their background.”

”I might have a way to confirm if the Shen Family is part of the Long Family Alliance,” Qin Qing offered. ”It might even reveal the identities of other alliance members.”

”Oh?” Ye Xiu’s eyes lit up. ”Tell me.”

”With the Tiansha Association destroyed, the Long Family won’t just let the money from the association and the Rongfu Consortium be confiscated. They will definitely try to get their hands on it. You can have someone track the financial movements of all Tiansha Association members and the Rongfu Consortium. If you follow the money trail...” Qin Qing said with a smile.

Ye Xiu was stunned for a moment. Then he suddenly pulled Qin Qing’s head toward him and kissed her, saying excitedly, ”Darling, you’re a genius! Why didn’t I think of that?”

But Qin Qing couldn’t be happy. ”It’s easier said than done.”

”Have you forgotten who I am? I am Huang Quan,” Ye Xiu said with a smile. ”Among my Thirteen Protecters is the world’s number one hacker. A task like this will be a breeze.”

Qin Qing was taken aback. ”You have the Thirteen Protecters?”

Ye Xiu nodded and impatiently called Gong Jin. ”Notify You Ming to closely track the financial movements of all Tiansha Association members and the Rongfu Consortium. Also, have him monitor the call records of Shen Songshan, the head of the Shen Family. I want to know every single person he has contacted and their locations.”

”Understood,” Gong Jin replied.

At that moment, in a dark room, the Dragon Lord and the members of the Long Family Alliance were on a video call.

”Hasn’t Huang Quan retired from killing? Why has he started again?”

”Don’t tell me Huang Quan is planning a comeback?”

”If so, the martial artists of the world and the underworld will once again tremble in fear.”

The dark room suddenly fell into a dreadful silence.

When the news of Huang Quan’s retirement had first spread, the world’s martial artists and underworld figures had felt like unbridled wild horses. The great mountain pressing down on them had finally vanished, and they thought they could finally act freely and achieve great things.

However, Huang Quan had then slaughtered Yagyu Uemon and Jim at Shenghe Hospital and forced all the members of the Xuan Ming Sect and Tiansha Association in Jin Ye City to commit suicide. When this news broke, the global martial and underworld communities nearly collapsed. The good days had lasted only a few days, and now that great mountain was back, pressing down on them once more.

”From this day forward, everyone in the Long Family is to maintain absolute silence. Go deep into hiding. Be cautious, and then be even more cautious, in everything you do,” the Dragon Lord said in a grave tone.

”So we’re not investigating the cause of Dragon Hollyhock and Long Bo’s deaths anymore? And we’re not going to find out if Ye Xiu really has a dragon-shaped pattern on his left arm?” Long Yi asked.

The Dragon Lord snorted coldly. ”There’s no need to investigate the cause of their deaths. They were undoubtedly killed by Huang Quan. As for Ye Xiu... hmph. Though the Tiansha Association is gone, Mutou Bingyuan’s plan is not over yet.”

”What plan does Mutou Bingyuan have?” Long Yi asked curiously.

Long Er, Long Shan, Long Si, Long Wu, Long Liu, Long Qi, Long Ba, and Long Jiu also showed keen interest.

”To prevent tens of thousands of martial artists from causing trouble in Jin Ye City, Huang Quan made them each spend ten thousand a day on a test paper. He then has people grade them daily. For every point they fail by, there’s a fine of ten thousand. Most of these martial artists are poor and can’t possibly afford such enormous daily fines. So, Mutou Bingyuan sent a list of all these martial artists’ enemies to all of Ye Xiu’s enemies across the country. He also gave them one billion in gold, urging them to use the money to bribe those poor martial artists into joining forces against Ye Xiu,” the Dragon Lord explained.

”Oh?”

Long Yi, Long Er, Long Shan, and the others were astonished. They couldn’t believe they hadn’t thought of such a brilliant plan. With so many martial artists joining forces, including numerous War Gods, killing Ye Xiu would be incredibly easy.

”Long Jiu, send someone to sneak into Jin Ye City. The moment Ye Xiu is killed, you must seize his body,” the Dragon Lord commanded.

”Leave it to me; you can rest assured,” Long Jiu said, then changed the subject. ”By the way, with the Tiansha Association destroyed, shouldn’t we make a plan for their money and the Rongfu Consortium’s?”

His words immediately struck a chord with the other alliance members.

”The Tiansha Association was the number one sect in Sang Jing; they were extremely wealthy. And the Rongfu Consortium is one of the four great consortia of Sang Jing, so they have even more money. Now that the Tiansha Association is gone, we’d be fools not to take it,” Long Yi said greedily.

”This sum must be astronomical. I suggest we ten families split it evenly,” Long Shan proposed.

”I agree with Long Shan’s idea.”

”I agree as well.”

”That’s a great idea!”

Instantly, everyone was in favor of splitting the money from the Tiansha Association and the Rongfu Consortium.

”Alright, it’s settled!” The Dragon Lord made the final decision and issued his command. ”Long Jiu, you are responsible for converting all of the Tiansha Association’s assets and its shares in the Rongfu Consortium into cash. After you’ve laundered it, transfer it to your family’s accounts first. Then, you will transfer it to me, and I will distribute it evenly.”

This order effectively exposed Long Jiu. If the Dragon Lord had known that Ye Xiu was already targeting the Tiansha Association and Rongfu Consortium’s money—and had already ordered the world’s number one hacker, You Ming, to monitor their financial movements—he wouldn’t have dared to touch that money, not even if his life depended on it. Unfortunately, the Dragon Lord had no idea what Ye Xiu was planning.
