Medical and Martial God

Chapter 218: Chapter 218: The Strange Poison Even Ye Xiu Couldn’t Cure

”I think so too,” Ye Xiu nodded. ”But the poisoner won’t be easily fooled. We must genuinely neutralize the strange poison and have Gaelin reappear completely unharmed before they will believe us.”

”If you hadn’t told me, Master, I wouldn’t have even known Gaelin was poisoned. With my medical skills, it would be very difficult to create an antidote. But with your skills, it shouldn’t be hard at all,” the Ghost Doctor said.

”I’m not confident either,” Ye Xiu stated.

The Ghost Doctor was aghast. In all the years he had known his Master, this was the first time he had seen him with so little confidence. It seems the poison affecting Gaelin is no ordinary substance!

”However, we can try,” Ye Xiu declared, his fighting spirit soaring. ”While we’re at it, I’ll use this opportunity to teach you a few more things.”

”Excellent!” the Ghost Doctor was ecstatic. ”Let’s start right away.”

”Not so fast. First, test Gaelin’s blood type and give him a transfusion. If he doesn’t get one soon, he’s done for,” Ye Xiu said.

”Alright!” The Ghost Doctor nodded and hurriedly began to test Gaelin’s blood type.

Just then, Murong knocked and entered. ”President. Oh, Teacher Ye, you’re here too. A lot of injured foreign Martial Artists have come to Shenghe Hospital, and they’re insisting that only Teacher Ye treat them.”

Ye Xiu immediately guessed it was the people Gaelin had injured. ”Tell them I don’t have time. Besides, I’m not a doctor anymore.”

”Okay!” Murong nodded and left.

At that moment, the Ghost Doctor brought the blood-typing test strip over for Ye Xiu to see. ”Master,” he said, astonished, ”Gaelin... he has no blood type.”

”What?” Ye Xiu was shocked. The blood-typing test strip worked much like a pregnancy test. You apply a drop of blood, and the color change indicates the blood type. The results it showed were usually no different from conventional tests. However, the test strip could only detect the four main types: A, B, AB, and O.

Could Gaelin have ’panda blood’? The so-called ’panda blood’ refers to rare and special blood types like Rh-negative.

”I’ll call Gong Jin and have her look into Gaelin’s records to see if he has ’panda blood’,” the Ghost Doctor said, already dialing.

Just a minute later, Gong Jin called back. ”Gaelin is Type A.”

The Ghost Doctor hung up, completely baffled. ”Gaelin is clearly Type A, so why is it suddenly showing that he has no blood type?” He then noticed that Ye Xiu’s expression had turned extremely grim. ”Master, what’s wrong?”

”I know what poison Gaelin is suffering from,” Ye Xiu said gravely. ”To be more precise, I know the most important ingredient in its formula.”

”What is the main ingredient?” the Ghost Doctor asked curiously.

”This poison is called ’Blood Pill’,” Ye Xiu said enigmatically. ”As for its main ingredient, you don’t need to know for now. We can’t neutralize the poison Gaelin was given, nor can we develop an antidote, unless we can obtain either the ’main ingredient’ or another sample of the poison itself.”

”Then how do we lure out the poisoner?” the Ghost Doctor asked.

”We’ll find a way.” Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes, his voice incredibly deep and his expression more serious than ever before. ”Give Gaelin a transfusion. Any blood type will do. Just keep him alive for now.”

With that, he left the Ghost Doctor’s laboratory.

Seeing Ye Xiu in such a state, the Ghost Doctor suddenly felt a sense of unease. It was the first time he had ever seen his master look like this. Clearly, the origin of this ’Blood Pill’ made even Ye Xiu feel threatened.

By now, the first floor of Shenghe Hospital was swarming with injured Martial Artists.

”Why hasn’t Ye Xiu come out yet? If anything happens to my disciple, I’ll have his head!” Sect Hierarch Jim of the Xuan Ming Sect bellowed.

”Such arrogance. I think Ye Xiu is clearly looking down on us. He’s deliberately refusing to come out, wanting to watch us die from our injuries,” Yagyu Uemon, who had just regained consciousness, said angrily. Secretly, though, he was thrilled. He hoped Ye Xiu wouldn’t show up. This way, Ye Xiu would offend all the Martial Artists present! He had to know that most of these Martial Artists had a War God backing them. Although Ye Xiu also possessed the strength of a War God, provoking so many War Gods at once was a death sentence.

”Damn it, are you all deaf?” Jim snarled, grabbing a passing nurse by her collar. ”Did you hear what I just said?”

The nurse was terrified. ”I... I heard you,” she stammered.

SLAP!

Jim struck the young nurse across the face. ”If you heard me, why aren’t you getting Ye Xiu? Are you just standing there enjoying the show?”

”I... I don’t know where Divine Doctor Ye is,” the nurse cried, holding her cheek, feeling incredibly wronged.

SLAP!

”Nonsense!” Jim slapped her again. ”I heard a long time ago that Ye Xiu paid for both Shenghe Hospital and Shenghe Medical College. He’s the Ghost Doctor’s master and a teacher at the college. As a nurse here, how could you possibly not know where he is?”

”I... I really don’t know,” the nurse sobbed, feeling utterly helpless. She truly had no idea where Ye Xiu was.

”You still dare to say you don’t know? I’ll slap the life out of you!” Jim raised his hand to strike her again.

”Stop!” Murong ran over, shouting to stop him. ”Don’t give her a hard time; she really doesn’t know where Teacher Ye is. Teacher Ye doesn’t have time right now, and he hasn’t practiced medicine in a long time.”

As soon as she spoke, all the Martial Artists turned to look at her.

”Who are you?” Jim demanded.

”I am Teacher Ye’s student,” Murong replied.

”So you know where Ye Xiu is, don’t you?” Jim pressed.

”Yes,” Murong nodded.

”Go get him. Now!” Jim ordered.

”I told you, Teacher Ye doesn’t have time, and he’s no longer a doctor,” Murong repeated firmly.

”I’m telling you to get him!” Jim lunged forward and grabbed Murong by the neck. ”I don’t give a damn if Ye Xiu has time or if he’s a doctor anymore,” he said in a cold voice. ”You will go and get him right now. If you don’t, I’ll choke you to death. If he doesn’t come, I’ll slaughter everyone in Shenghe Hospital.”

With his hand around her throat, Murong’s anger flared. ”Sir,” she said coldly, ”show some respect and take your hand off me.”

”Oh, quite the temper, aren’t you? You think I won’t snap your neck right here and now?” Instead of letting go, Jim tightened his grip slightly.

Furious, Murong struck Jim’s chest with her palm.

Instantly, Jim felt a berserk, bone-chillingly cold energy rush into his body. It rampaged through his meridians with destructive force, freezing them solid wherever it passed. This gave him a terrible fright. He hastily released Murong and stumbled back several steps, mobilizing his martial prowess to extinguish the cold energy in his meridians. Even so, the experience had scared him into a cold sweat.

He was lucky Murong’s strength wasn’t high. If she had been his equal in power, that one palm strike could have taken his life.

Once he had dispelled the Yin Cold Poison from his body, Jim asked in shock, ”What... what kind of kung fu is that?”
