Chapter 234: Chapter 234 Why Haven’t You Coughed Up Blood

Ye Xiu looked irritably at the old man and asked, ”And who might you be?”

”I am Xie Weizheng, an Eighth Grade Grandmaster of the Lian family,” the old man announced proudly, carrying himself with an air that suggested being an Eighth Grade Grandmaster was a magnificent feat.

”Just a mere Eighth Grade Grandmaster, and you’re already this smug?” Ye Xiu scoffed disdainfully. ”I’m in a terrible mood and have no time for you. Take your four losers and get lost.”

Upon hearing this, Xie Weizheng and the three bodyguards burst into laughter. Qiu Yunxuan and Kong Ruoruo were also at a loss for words.

”Kid, I don’t know whether to call you wildly arrogant or adorably ignorant,” one of the bodyguards mocked. ”An Eighth Grade Grandmaster is powerful enough to establish their own sect. In the Ancient Martial Circle, they’re considered a top-tier expert. Yet you dare to make such brazen claims? You must be tired of living.”

”That’s not his fault,” Xie Weizheng said, waving his hand with the air of a Grandmaster. ”I can see he’s just a common Loose Cultivator, completely unaware of how powerful a Grandmaster truly is. He’ll change his tune once he finds out.”

”What Elder Xie says makes sense,” the bodyguard replied respectfully. ”In that case, please, Elder Xie, show him the power of a Grandmaster, so that we too may widen our horizons.”

”Fine. I’ll show you a little something to broaden your horizons.” Xie Weizheng basked in the flattery, looking at Ye Xiu with contempt. ”Kid, you look down on Eighth Grade Grandmasters, don’t you? Well, I’ll let you witness just how formidable we are. Prepare yourself. I’m about to make my move.”

As he spoke, he took a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, lit one, and planned to leisurely defeat Ye Xiu while smoking, thinking it would make him look cool.

”Don’t!” Qiu Yunxuan and Kong Ruoruo cried out in alarm.

Qiu Yunxuan ran to stand in front of Ye Xiu, pleading in terror, ”Elder Xie, please don’t kill him! I’ll give the Lian family what they want. Just don’t kill him.”

”Get out of the way,” Ye Xiu said, pushing Qiu Yunxuan aside in disgust. ”Stop this phony act.”

Seeing this, Kong Ruoruo rushed to support her mother, huffing angrily. ”Hey, what’s wrong with you? My mom is protecting you! How can you be so ungrateful?”

”I don’t need her protection, and she isn’t qualified to protect me,” Ye Xiu replied coldly.

”Are we fighting or not?” Xie Weizheng snapped impatiently. He had been all set to show off for the three bodyguards, only for Ye Xiu to start arguing with the mother-daughter duo.

”Make your move!” Ye Xiu said coldly. ”I gave you a chance. Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant your wish.”

”Hmph. Still so arrogant at a time like this,” Xie Weizheng snorted, then turned to the three bodyguards. ”Watch closely. I am about to use my unique skill, the Regretful Mountain Palm. This palm technique is ferocious and domineering. No one below the rank of Great Grandmaster would dare take a direct hit from me.”

He finished speaking and, in a flash, leaped in front of Ye Xiu, striking his chest with a palm.

”No...” As Xie Weizheng attacked, Qiu Yunxuan cried out in despair. But it was too late. His strike was too fast, and his palm had already landed on Ye Xiu’s chest.

At the sight, Qiu Yunxuan’s face turned ashen, and she nearly fainted.

Kong Ruoruo simply shut her eyes, unable to bear the thought of watching Ye Xiu cough up blood and die a miserable death.

The three bodyguards, however, were practically ecstatic, watching Ye Xiu eagerly, waiting for him to spit blood, be sent flying backward, and fall to his death.

However, Ye Xiu stood his ground, motionless. He didn’t spit blood. He wasn’t sent flying. In fact, he was as calm as ever, as if he had just been slapped by a baby.

”No need to act tough. Go ahead and spit it out. Holding back the blood will only cause internal injuries,” Xie Weizheng advised with a smile.

”Is this the so-called Regretful Mountain Palm?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Yeah. Impressive, right?” Xie Weizheng said, brimming with pride. Suddenly, he felt something was wrong. ”Why haven’t you coughed up any blood?”

”Did you learn this Regretful Mountain Palm from a masseuse at a foot spa? The power is seriously lacking,” Ye Xiu said disdainfully.

Xie Weizheng was flabbergasted.

Qiu Yunxuan, Kong Ruoruo, and the three bodyguards were also stunned. By now, even a fool could see that Ye Xiu wasn’t injured in the slightest.

The six of them sucked in a sharp breath of cold air. He had taken a palm strike from an Eighth Grade Grandmaster without a scratch?

”Impossible... this is impossible!” The smug smile vanished from Xie Weizheng’s face. Like a madman, he began frantically striking Ye Xiu’s chest with both palms.

The sound of the impacts was thunderous, like a car wreck.

But Ye Xiu remained expressionless, as if Xie Weizheng wasn’t hitting him at all.

”Are you done playing?” Ye Xiu asked coldly.

”You...” Xie Weizheng stopped, nearly spitting blood from the rage. Am I playing? I’m trying to kill him!

At that moment, Xie Weizheng felt utterly humiliated. He had wanted to show off for the three bodyguards, but instead, he had lost all face. However, he also realized that Ye Xiu was stronger than him—at least a Great Grandmaster. But he wasn’t afraid.

”Kid, I underestimated you. I never expected someone so young to be a Great Grandmaster,” Xie Weizheng said, forcing the words out, his face beet red.

What? A Great Grandmaster?

Qiu Yunxuan, her daughter, and the three bodyguards were astonished. They truly hadn’t expected Ye Xiu to be so powerful.

”Can you get lost now?” Ye Xiu asked. He didn’t want to kill in front of his cousin, Kong Ruoruo, for fear of scaring her.

”I knew you wouldn’t dare touch us,” Xie Weizheng said coldly. ”Boy, I’m warning you. Whatever your relationship with Qiu Yunxuan is, I advise you to stay out of this mess. If you anger the Lian family, it won’t end well for you.”

With that, he waved to the three bodyguards and started to walk out. The men quickly followed, carrying their unconscious colleague.

Ye Xiu subtly flicked out five invisible streams of energy that entered the bodies of Xie Weizheng and the four bodyguards. The five of them remained completely oblivious.

After Xie Weizheng and his men had left, Ye Xiu said to Kong Ruoruo, ”Ruoruo, come with me.”

”Where to?” Kong Ruoruo asked.

”Away from that trash mother of yours. Come with me, and I’ll give you the best the world has to offer,” Ye Xiu declared. As the last of the Kong Family bloodline, he would spare no effort to protect Ruoruo and raise her to be exceptional.

”Hey! How can you say that? What right do you have to call my mom trash?” Kong Ruoruo demanded indignantly.

”Ask your mother, Qiu Yunxuan, why I said that!” Ye Xiu raised his voice in anger. ”Twenty years ago, your father died a tragic death. Before his funeral was even held, she took you—barely a month old—and left the Kong Family to remarry. Ten years ago, your maternal grandparents and aunt were killed in a car crash, and she didn’t even go to claim their bodies! Someone like that doesn’t deserve to be your mother.”

”What?” Kong Ruoruo was dumbfounded. She turned to Qiu Yunxuan and asked, ”Mom, I’m so confused. Does... does this mean my current dad isn’t my biological father?”

Qiu Yunxuan didn’t answer Kong Ruoruo’s question. Instead, she looked at Ye Xiu and said, ”Ye Xiu, you were only six years old back then. There are many things you don’t know. I had my reasons for taking Ruoruo and leaving the Kong Family.”
