Medical and Martial God

Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Where Did I Lose?

”Ming Yue?”

When Mutou Bingyuan saw Ming Yue, it was as if he had found his savior. ”Ming Yue, quickly, someone is trying to kill me,” he said agitatedly. ”Quick, take me somewhere safe, hurry...”

”Of course!”

A naive smile blossomed on Ming Yue’s grimy face. She struggled to help Mutou Bingyuan up, supporting him as they entered a dark alley nearby.

Ming Yue realized his injuries were severe; he barely had the strength to walk on his own. His entire body relied on her support, a dead weight she had to half-drag along.

She asked, ”Who’s trying to kill you?”

Mutou Bingyuan certainly couldn’t admit he had offended more than three thousand War Gods. If he said that, Ming Yue would likely drop him and run for her life.

So, he said, ”I fell into Ye Xiu’s trap. He ambushed me.”

Ming Yue didn’t believe him. She knew Ye Xiu. If this was really his plot, Mutou Bingyuan would never have had a chance to escape.

However, she didn’t expose his lie. Instead, she pretended to believe him.

Soon, Ming Yue helped Mutou Bingyuan to a pile of junk deep inside the alley, where a shabby tent stood.

”What is this place?” Mutou Bingyuan asked.

”I live here,” Ming Yue said. ”Don’t worry, it’s very safe. This alley doesn’t have any lights, so the people chasing you won’t find you here.”

Mutou Bingyuan sighed in relief, his body slumping weakly to the ground. ”Ming Yue, thank you. If it weren’t for you, I doubt I would’ve lived to see the dawn.”

”We’re classmates. You helped me before and even taught me Kung Fu. It’s only right that I repay you.” Her dirt-smudged but pretty face was full of tenderness as she teased, ”Your injuries look very severe. I bet even an ordinary person could take you down right now, couldn’t they?”

”Don’t make fun of me,” Mutou Bingyuan said with a bitter smile. ”Forget an ordinary person. Right now, even an old woman could kill me easily.”

”Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease.”

Ming Yue suddenly produced a rusty boning knife and plunged it into Mutou Bingyuan’s heart.

”You...” Mutou Bingyuan stared at Ming Yue in disbelief. ”Why? Why are you killing me?”

”I have some good news for you. I’ve become very proficient with the Nameless Evil Skill you taught me. The only problem is, I was too weak to use it on any Martial Artists, so I can only borrow your Martial Prowess.” Ming Yue smiled sweetly, but a crazed light shone in her eyes. ”You’re too foolish to be Ye Xiu’s opponent. You might as well give your Martial Prowess to me, and I’ll kill him instead.”

As she spoke, she grabbed Mutou Bingyuan’s wrist and activated the Nameless Evil Skill. Instantly, his Martial Prowess surged into her body like a flood breaking through a dam.

Mutou Bingyuan didn’t resist. He couldn’t.

He sighed. ”You are more ruthless and decisive than I am. Perhaps it is for the best that my Martial Prowess passes to you. But I don’t understand, where did I go wrong? Ever since I arrived in Jin Ye City, I’ve felt like there’s a hidden hand manipulating everything, cornering me step by step into this dire situation.”

”I don’t know what you’ve experienced, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that the hidden hand manipulating everything is Ye Xiu. He’s been playing with you all along,” Ming Yue stated firmly.

Mutou Bingyuan fell silent. As he reviewed everything that had happened since he came to Jin Ye City, he suddenly realized that every one of his failures seemed to be connected to Ye Xiu. The failure of the Seven Deadly Pill plan was most likely because Miyamoto Satoshi and Kuroki Suzu had long since betrayed the Tiansha Association and defected to Ye Xiu’s side. Under Ye Xiu’s instruction, Miyamoto Satoshi and the medical team had created the fake Seven Deadly Pills. The goal was to humiliate him in front of tens of thousands of Martial Artists, inciting them to beat him to death.

Having figured this out, Mutou Bingyuan drew in a sharp, cold breath. For the first time in his life, he felt a fear that came from the very bottom of his heart.

Ye Xiu! He’s terrifying!

He asked, ”If he was just playing with me, why did he suddenly decide to kill me?”

”Maybe he got tired of playing, or maybe he found a new toy,” Ming Yue guessed.

She was right.

Ever since learning the Tiansha Association wasn’t involved in framing him ten years ago, Ye Xiu had already decided to kill Mutou Bingyuan and the Tiansha Association. The appearance of the Shen Family and the Blood Pill was the last straw, causing him to lose all patience with Mutou Bingyuan, the Tiansha Association, and the Xuan Ming Sect.

Kill them all. Clear the board to play with the Shen Family.

After all, the Shen Family was a member of the Long Family Alliance, and the Long Family was the mastermind behind framing him ten years ago—the very culprits who had caused the deaths of his mother and grandparents.

Tormenting the Shen Family was a game Ye Xiu would play with far more passion. And he didn’t want any irrelevant clowns hopping around while he did it.

”I always prided myself on my brilliant strategies, on being both brave and intelligent. Yet, the very first time I make a move after lying low for five years, I become nothing but Ye Xiu’s plaything. Ye Xiu... he is my nemesis!”

Mutou Bingyuan’s spirit shattered. His confidence crumbled, his self-esteem ground to dust. He lay on the ground, staring at the starry sky with a look of utter despair, waiting for death.

Soon, Ming Yue had drained all of Mutou Bingyuan’s Martial Prowess. By then, he had already breathed his last.

It seems you lost a great deal of power during that huge battle and escape. You had so little Martial Prowess left. It only got me to the Fifth Grade. What a pity! Ming Yue was very dissatisfied. For some reason, her mood suddenly became wildly agitated, and she was gripped by an incredibly intense, feverish urge to kill. So the Nameless Evil Skill really does affect a cultivator’s mind!

「The next morning.」

Ye Xiu and Qin Qing were practicing their Kung Fu when Mo Luo suddenly called.

”Young Master, Ming Yue has disappeared.”

Ye Xiu was taken aback. ”What happened?”

”Last night, after Mutou Bingyuan escaped from the stadium, he ran into Ming Yue,” Mo Luo explained. ”She took him to the tent she was temporarily staying in. The two men Meng Shaohong had assigned to watch her only discovered Mutou Bingyuan was dead and Ming Yue was gone in the early hours of the morning. I’ve had people searching ever since, but we still haven’t found her.”

Ye Xiu was stunned. Mutou Bingyuan, a mighty War God, had actually died at Ming Yue’s hands? Incredible!

He asked, ”Have you checked the surrounding surveillance footage?”

”We’ve checked. There isn’t a single trace of her. There are no records of her at any bus station, train station, or airport either. She must have fled on foot, but I can’t figure out how she evaded all the cameras.”

Ye Xiu’s brows furrowed. Bizarre. A Martial Artist would need to be at least Fourth Grade to evade surveillance. How did an ordinary person like Ming Yue manage it? This doesn’t make any sense! And why would she just run away like that?

”Are the other members of the Ming Family still there?” Ye Xiu asked.

”They’re all here,” Mo Luo replied.

How strange. Why would she abandon her family and run off by herself? What is she up to?

”Use all our resources to find her,” he commanded. ”Also, notify the authorities in the cities surrounding Jin Ye City to be on the lookout. We must find Ming Yue.”

”As you command!” Mo Luo replied.
