Chapter 209: Chapter 209 Qi Yun Dao Gambling King

As he spoke, Zhang Wenyi exchanged his card for 12,000,000 in chips.

”You’re this broke?” Ye Xiu said with a look of disappointment.

The staff member also looked at Zhang Wenyi in surprise. Just last night, he had flirted with her, claiming to have over a billion in his account. Yet here he was, with only 12,000,000.

”I... I only brought this one card today. The real money is in my other accounts,” Zhang Wenyi said, steeling himself. ”Besides, with my skills, I don’t need to carry that much cash.”

”Sigh.” Ye Xiu patted Zhang Wenyi’s shoulder. ”If bragging were a crime, you’d be sentenced to death by a thousand cuts.”

Zhang Wenyi was furious but had no comeback. He retorted, his voice thick with shame and anger, ”Wait until you lose all your money to me! Then we’ll see how arrogant you are. Follow me!”

Fearing Ye Xiu would mock him further, he quickly turned and led the way.

Ye Xiu and An Dongye followed. An Dongye leaned in and whispered, ”Kid, he’s the one who won my money last night.”

”Don’t worry,” Ye Xiu replied. ”I’ll win it all back for you.”

”Don’t be so confident. Be careful, or you’ll lose everything to him.” An Dongye was deeply skeptical of Ye Xiu’s gambling abilities.

Ye Xiu just smiled without explaining. In truth, he didn’t know a thing about gambling, but he was an expert at cheating.

Soon, the three of them found an empty gambling table.

Carrying such a massive tray of chips, Ye Xiu attracted the gazes of countless gamblers along the way. A crowd soon started following him, wanting to see how good he was. If he turned out to be terrible, they were ready to play a few hands against him.

”Alright, how do you want to play?” Zhang Wenyi boasted after they sat down. ”Name your game. I’m ready for anything.”

Ye Xiu thought for a moment. ”You’re too poor. 12,000,000 doesn’t really get my blood pumping. How about this: you put up your 12,000,000, and I’ll match it. We’ll each roll a die. Whoever gets the higher number takes the other’s 12,000,000.”

A wave of gasps spread through the crowd.

Even the Croupier was shocked. They had never seen anyone gamble like this—a simple high-low roll with a massive stake of 12,000,000.

”Fine, you have a deal!” Zhang Wenyi was thrilled. Dice were his specialty. He could practically roll any number he wanted and had never once failed.

”Then let’s begin,” Ye Xiu said to the Croupier.

The Croupier nodded and handed a die to both Ye Xiu and Zhang Wenyi. He felt quite put out; it was the first time in his career that he had been reduced to a mere spectator.

”Go ahead. You first,” Ye Xiu said with a smile.

”Alright!” Zhang Wenyi picked up the die, placed it in a cup, and began shaking it with a great show of expertise. ”I didn’t tell you earlier,” he said as he rattled the cup, ”but this is my specialty. I can get whatever number I want. All 100 million of your chips are about to be mine, hahaha...”

Many of the onlookers who knew Zhang Wenyi began to whisper among themselves.

”This kid must not have checked his horoscope. He’s going to lose so bad he’ll be spitting blood.”

”Zhang Wenyi’s skills rank in the top ten of Qi Yun Dao’s gambling scene, and his dice-throwing is said to rival that of the Gambling King himself. This kid is doomed for challenging him at his own game.”

”Looks like Zhang Wenyi is about to get rich. He ran into a complete fool.”

Hearing the crowd’s chatter, An Dongye grew nervous. Ye Xiu was here to get her revenge, and she would feel terrible if he lost all his money.

If Ye Xiu loses everything, forget gambling etiquette, I’ll just freaking rob the guy, she thought.

CLACK!

Just then, Zhang Wenyi finished shaking and slammed the cup down on the table. ”Kid, your turn!” he declared.

Ye Xiu picked up his die and casually tossed it onto the table. The die spun a few times before coming to a stop.

PFFT!

Zhang Wenyi and the surrounding gamblers couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Even the Croupier let out an audible chuckle.

It was a two.

”Kid, your luck is the worst! Did you forget to wash your hands after using the bathroom?” An Dongye lamented.

”I didn’t expect to be this unlucky either,” Ye Xiu said, feigning embarrassment.

”Haha, your 12,000,000 is mine!” Zhang Wenyi stood up, eagerly reaching for Ye Xiu’s chips.

”Wait a minute,” Ye Xiu stopped him. ”We haven’t seen your roll yet.”

”There’s no need to look! It’s a six for sure!” Zhang Wenyi declared with absolute confidence.

”Let’s look anyway,” Ye Xiu insisted.

”Fine!” Zhang Wenyi reluctantly lifted the cup. ”I’ll let you see what a real loss looks like. Look carefully. I said six, so it’s a si—huh?”

As he saw the number on the die, his voice died in his throat. An expression of utter disbelief spread across his face.

The crowd gasped in unison.

It was a one.

”Impossible! That’s impossible! I clearly rolled a six! How could it be a one?” Zhang Wenyi refused to accept what he was seeing.

”Hahaha! I can’t believe a two was enough to win! The heavens must be on my side!” Ye Xiu laughed heartily, stood up, and pulled all of Zhang Wenyi’s chips over to his side. He casually pushed 2,000,000 worth of chips toward An Dongye. ”This is what you lost last night.”

”Kid, I’ve finally witnessed what real dumb luck looks like,” An Dongye said, shaking her head in amazement.

Her words resonated with everyone. Winning with a two? What else could it be but dumb luck?

”Zhang Wenyi, got any more money? If not, go home and get some,” Ye Xiu taunted.

”Just you wait! I’ll go borrow some from my friends!” Unwilling to admit defeat, Zhang Wenyi decided to find more money for another round.

Ye Xiu sneered inwardly. This wasn’t dumb luck. He had used his Inner Strength to force Zhang Wenyi’s die to land on one.

”Ladies and gentlemen, anyone else care for a few rounds?” Ye Xiu announced to the crowd. ”I’ll only play for high or low. And don’t bother coming over if you have less than 10,000,000 in chips. I have no interest in winning small change!”

The onlookers, who had been eager for a chance, suddenly felt awkward. Very few of them actually had 10,000,000 to gamble with.

”My, what a high roller!” a cheerful voice boomed.

Ye Xiu turned toward the voice. A young, extremely fat man who was only about 1.5 meters tall was walking over. He had a doughy, cheerful face that resembled a Maitreya Buddha.

”Lv Liang?”

”The Gambling King of Qi Yun Dao?”

The crowd murmured in shock, wondering why such a big shot had personally shown up.

Hearing their whispers, Ye Xiu immediately knew who the stout man was. Li Yuefeng had previously mentioned that the owner of the Crystal Palace was Lv Liang, the young master of the Lv Family of Qi Yun Dao. This had to be him.

”Sir, may I have the honor of playing a few rounds with you?” Lv Liang asked with a smile as he approached the table.

His words caused the onlookers to curse inwardly. Lv Liang had obviously seen Ye Xiu’s mountain of chips and had come over specifically to swindle him. Everyone there was a professional gambler, and they could tell at a glance that Ye Xiu was no master. Conversely, Lv Liang was the Gambling King of Qi Yun Dao, so a match between him and Ye Xiu was nothing short of bullying.
