Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Encounter with a Frivolous Girl

Gao Wenshuai watched from the side, completely stupefied. He had always thought Qin Qing was just a frail woman, so he had only brought a First Grade bodyguard. But Qin Qing was so formidable that she had Wang Tong retreating step by step, completely unable to fight back.

This won’t do! I have to escape! Otherwise, once Qin Qing kills Wang Tong, I’ll be trapped!

So, Gao Wenshuai staggered to his feet and stumbled toward the exit. Just as he reached the doorway, Chloe blocked his path.

”Get out of the way, you bitch! Don’t block my path,” Gao Wenshuai cursed loudly, trying to push Chloe aside.

BANG!

Chloe kicked him.

Gao Wenshuai fell to the ground again, this time without even the strength to cry out in pain. Chloe’s kick was much harsher than any of Qin Qing’s attacks. After that blow, it seemed Gao Wenshuai would have to change his name to Eunuch Gao.

”Young Master Gao!”

Wang Tong couldn’t help but cry out when he saw Gao Wenshuai’s escape attempt end with a kick to the crotch from Chloe. This momentary distraction gave Qin Qing an opening. She lunged with her sword, instantly leaving eighteen bloody holes in Wang Tong’s body.

”Congratulations, Young Madam, on your first kill,” Chloe approached and spoke respectfully. ”Your Swordsmanship has become very adept, Young Madam. Once the Young Master returns from Qingfeng Road, he can teach you the mental method.”

However, Qin Qing wasn’t particularly happy. She asked in bewilderment, ”I’ve only learned Swordsmanship and haven’t started my Cultivation of Inner Strength. Why am I stronger than a First Grade Martial Artist?”

”You may not know this, Young Madam, but the Swordsmanship the Young Master taught you is very powerful. Moreover, you haven’t just been practicing by rote. You often spar with the Young Master and me, so you have ample Combat Experience. With your current strength, if you went all out, you could likely fight a Second Grade Martial Artist to a standstill,” Chloe explained.

There was something she left unsaid. While the Swordsmanship Ye Xiu taught Qin Qing was indeed formidable, her ability to kill a First Grade expert was entirely due to Ye Xiu sparring with her every day. Ye Xiu was the greatest expert alive. Even if he trained a fool every day, that fool could become Invincible among their peers, to say nothing of someone as exceptionally talented as Qin Qing.

”So that’s how it is. Then when will Ye Xiu be back?” Qin Qing asked, growing impatient.

”I don’t know,” Chloe replied, shaking her head.

”Why don’t we go to Qingfeng Road and find him?” Qin Qing suggested.

Chloe’s expression changed instantly. ”Absolutely not, Young Madam! You mustn’t even consider it. If you go to Qingfeng Road without the Young Master’s permission, he will kill me and the other nineteen servants.”

Qin Qing was speechless.

When Ye Xiu arrived at Qingfeng Road, it was exactly 7:30 PM. According to his intelligence, Su Mo and his cabal of masterminds had not all arrived at the hotel where they were meeting. So, Ye Xiu was in no hurry. He parked his car in the hotel’s open-air lot, deciding to wait inside until everyone had gathered before making his move.

Just as he parked, the back door suddenly opened, and a girl scrambled inside.

”Hey, you’ve got the wrong car,” Ye Xiu said.

”Shh...” The girl made a hushing gesture, then ducked down on the back seat.

Ye Xiu was stunned for a moment. He then saw four young men who looked like bodyguards run over. They stopped in front of his car and began looking around, clearly searching for someone.

Ah, I see. The girl was being chased by the four bodyguards and had frantically hidden in his car to escape. Interesting!

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK...

At that moment, one of the bodyguards knocked on his window. At the sight, the girl was so frightened she held her breath.

”Can I help you?” Ye Xiu asked, rolling the window down a crack.

”Have you seen a girl around twenty years old?” the bodyguard asked.

”I did. She ran south,” Ye Xiu replied.

Without another word, the bodyguard and the other three chased off to the south.

”Alright, they’re gone,” Ye Xiu said, turning to smile at the girl crouched in the back seat.

”That scared me half to death,” the girl said, sitting up straight and patting her chest in lingering fear.

Seeing her properly, Ye Xiu was taken aback for a moment. What a beautiful girl! She was about twenty, with a youthful, playful air, lively and expressive eyes, and striking blonde hair. She was also dressed very revealingly. She had the look of a mischievous, rebellious girl.

”Hey, why are you staring at me like that?” the girl demanded, waving her small fists threateningly. ”I’m warning you, I’m a good fighter. Don’t get any funny ideas, or I’ll bash your head in.”

Ye Xiu chuckled. ”Relax, I’m not interested in little brats. I am curious why they were chasing you, though.”

At the mention of this, the girl’s expression dimmed for a moment before she recovered. ”That’s none of your business. But thanks for your help. Our paths may cross again!”

With that, she opened the door and got out. Ye Xiu chuckled to himself. The girl was quite amusing.

However, the next moment, she threw the door open again and scrambled frantically back inside. ”Quick, quick, drive! They’re coming back!”

Ye Xiu glanced in the rearview mirror. Sure enough, the four bodyguards were returning. But he didn’t start the car.

”Hurry up and drive! If they catch me, I’m dead!” the girl urged frantically.

”First, tell me why they’re trying to catch you,” Ye Xiu said calmly.

”Why are you so nosy? Fine, fine, I’ll tell you! They want to capture me to threaten my mother. Now please, drive! Quick...” The girl was on the verge of tears.

Oh? Ye Xiu’s eyes sharpened. The person who ordered these bodyguards to capture a girl is truly shameless.

”Don’t worry,” he said. ”With me here, they won’t take you.”

Just then, the four bodyguards ran up and surrounded the car. One of them knocked on the window and said angrily, ”Get out of the car!”

”Is there a problem?” Ye Xiu asked, lowering his window.

”You little rascal, you dare lie to me? Hand over Kong Ruoruo now, or don’t blame us for getting rough.” The bodyguard spoke with a cold tone. If it weren’t for the fact that Ye Xiu was driving a luxury car, he would have kicked the door in by now.

Kong Ruoruo?

The name made Ye Xiu’s heart skip a beat. His uncle’s daughter—his cousin—had the same name. The thought of his late uncle instantly soured his mood.

”Don’t get out! Just drive!” the anxious Kong Ruoruo urged from the back seat, her face pale with fright.

”Relax. Just for having that name, I won’t let them take you,” Ye Xiu said in a low, firm voice.

Outside, the bodyguard heard this and grew furious. He said coldly, ”Kid, judging by this fancy car, you must have a decent background. You should know about the powerful families on Qingfeng Road, right? Let me tell you, we work for Young Master Lian Zhengrong of the Lian family. Are you sure you want to ruin Young Master Lian’s business? Aren’t you afraid of bringing ruin upon your entire family?”

Lian Zhengrong? Ye Xiu scoffed inwardly. What a coincidence.

He had come to Qingfeng Road with three objectives. First, to deal with Su Mo and his cohorts. Second, the Shen Family. And third, to sabotage the marriage alliance between the Shen Family and the Lian family.

So, offending the Lian family is inevitable. In that case... I might as well start with these four bodyguards.
