Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Surprisingly, Kong Ruoruo’s Mom is Her

”Divine Doctor Ye, I... I don’t want to go to the City of Asura.”

Su Mo said, mustering his courage, ”I... I’m too old. I really can’t stand the environment in the City of Asura. I... I’m willing to give you all my companies, real estate, and shares. I’m begging you, please don’t send me to the City of Asura.”

”Alright, you don’t have to go,” Ye Xiu agreed readily.

Gao Hongquan and the others’ eyes lit up, and instantly, everyone began to clamor.

”Divine Doctor Ye, I’m not young either! I... I can’t adapt to the environment in the City of Asura!”

”I’m also willing to give you all my companies, real estate, and shares! Please, just don’t send me to the City of Asura!”

”My stomach is weak. I can’t get used to the food in the City of Asura. I... I still prefer the food here in Xuanse. I... I don’t want to go either...”

They were all going mad. To avoid being sent to the City of Asura, they had all lost their minds, willing to give up their entire fortunes just so Ye Xiu wouldn’t send them there.

”Go to the City of Asura, or die now. Choose,” Ye Xiu stated indifferently.

The clamoring stopped abruptly. No one said another word.

A bad life is better than a good death. It’s better to go to the City of Asura than to be killed. Who knows, there might be a chance for a reversal of fortune.

Everyone else, however, was incredibly envious of Su Mo, who wouldn’t have to go.

Su Mo was thrilled. He, the main culprit, was actually the only one who didn’t have to go to the City of Asura.

”Su Mo, take your family to Jin Ye City. Go beg with the Ming Family and get a proper taste of what I went through back then,” Ye Xiu said, his face expressionless.

”Ah?” Su Mo was stunned, then panicked. ”Divine Doctor Ye, I... I’m too old to beg. Besides, I don’t even know how.”

”I can chop off your legs and give you a wheeled board. You can sit on that and beg. Who knows, you might even get rich,” Ye Xiu said coldly.

”No, don’t!” Su Mo was nearly scared to death. ”I’ll go! I’ll go beg! Just don’t chop off my legs!”

”Hmph.”

Ye Xiu nodded and fell silent, focusing on his food.

Truthfully, his revenge plan wasn’t supposed to be like this. Originally, he had planned to take his revenge slowly, targeting one City Mansion at a time, making every one of the masterminds from back then experience what he had gone through before finally executing them. But his plans had been repeatedly forced to change after he returned to the country. The appearance of the Long Family, in particular, completely shattered his original strategy. Now he wasn’t in the mood to play around with tormenting accomplices like Gao Hongquan. He would reserve his thorough torture for the truly wicked culprits: the Su family, the Ming Family, the Ye Family, and the Long Family. Of course, for people like Gao Hongquan, being sent to the City of Asura would be a fate even more miserable, desperate, and terrifying than if they had stayed in the country—a true living death.

”Alright, I’m full.”

Having eaten and drunk his fill, Ye Xiu wiped his mouth, stood up, and announced, ”You’d all better eat up. This is the last feast of your lives. When you’re finished, someone will be here to escort you to the City of Asura.”

With that, he turned and left, his face an emotionless mask.

Just as he stepped out of the banquet hall, he heard Su Mo’s screams echoing from inside.

There it is. No need to guess, that must be Gao Hongquan and his gang taking it out on Su Mo.

Ye Xiu got back into his car and sent a message to Mo Luo.

”Have someone take Su Mo’s family to Jin Ye City to keep the Ming Family company. Send the rest to the City of Asura to work in the mines.

”Also, transfer all the money from their corporate accounts to me. Sell off all their stocks, real estate, cars, and everything else. Then, notify the Zhulu Group to launch a hostile takeover of their companies.

”And one more thing: leak the news that Su Mo was the mastermind who framed me all those years ago.”

After sending the message, he drove to Kong Ruoruo’s home in Four Seasons Flower City.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Ye Xiu knocked on the door of Building 20, Unit 1, Apartment 1201.

Suddenly, Kong Ruoruo’s panicked shout came from inside. ”Run! There’s an ambush inside...”

SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!

”Don’t hit my daughter! If you have to hit someone, hit me...”

Hearing this voice, Ye Xiu froze. It sounded so familiar!

Just then, a young man with a swollen forehead opened the door and glared coldly at Ye Xiu. ”Kid, didn’t expect to see us again so soon, huh?”

”I didn’t think you’d wake up so fast. I thought you’d be out for the whole night,” Ye Xiu said with a smile.

This young man was one of the four bodyguards Ye Xiu had knocked out earlier—the one he had punched squarely in the forehead.

”You...” The bodyguard flew into a rage and snarled, ”Keep acting tough, kid. You’ll be crying soon enough.”

BANG!

Ye Xiu threw a single punch. The bodyguard fell flat on his back, unconscious again.

”Trash.”

Ye Xiu kicked the man’s limp form into the room as he stepped inside. In the room were the other three bodyguards he had previously knocked out, along with a man in his sixties or seventies. On the living room sofa sat a mother and daughter: Kong Ruoruo and...

”Qiu Yunxuan?” Seeing the middle-aged beauty sitting next to Kong Ruoruo, Ye Xiu’s eyes hardened.

”I told you not to come in, didn’t you hear me? There’s an ambush...” Kong Ruoruo started to scold him angrily as he entered, but stopped short when she heard him say her mother’s name. ”Huh? You know my mom?”

”You know me?” Qiu Yunxuan asked, studying Ye Xiu. She was certain she had never met him before.

”When I first heard her name was Kong Ruoruo, I thought it was just a coincidence. I never expected her to actually be my cousin,” Ye Xiu said, his gaze fixed coldly on Qiu Yunxuan.

Qiu Yunxuan was his uncle Kong Dongming’s wife, and Kong Ruoruo was their daughter.

When Ye Xiu was six, his uncle, Kong Dongming, was murdered. Yet before a funeral could even be held, Qiu Yunxuan took her one-month-old daughter, Kong Ruoruo, left the Kong Family, and remarried. Young Ye Xiu had been furious at the time. His hatred only deepened ten years ago when his mother and grandparents were killed in a car crash. Qin Qing had to handle the arrangements all by herself, as Qiu Yunxuan and Kong Ruoruo never once showed their faces.

”Cousin?” Qiu Yunxuan was taken aback. She stood up and stared at Ye Xiu in shock, stammering in disbelief, ”You... you are... you’re Ye...”

”That’s right, it’s me,” Ye Xiu interrupted her coolly. ”Unexpected, isn’t it? You thought that with the Kong Family driven to bankruptcy by the Ye Family and my uncle dead, the family was finished. You never expected that I would be the one saving your lives today, did you?”

”Wait, wait, just stop talking for a second.” Kong Ruoruo’s mind was buzzing. She looked at Qiu Yunxuan and asked, ”Mom, how come I never knew I had a cousin?”

”She was too ashamed to tell you,” Ye Xiu said coldly. ”A few days after your father died, she took you with her and remarried.”

”What are you talking about? What do you mean my dad died? My dad is clearly still alive,” Kong Ruoruo said, completely confused.

”That’s your stepfather. Your biological father died before you were even a month old,” Ye Xiu said through gritted teeth.

Kong Ruoruo’s mind was thrown into chaos.

”Tsk, tsk. What kind of family drama is this?” the man in his sixties or seventies said teasingly. ”It looks like you all have some bad blood. But could you please wait until we’ve finished our business before you settle your scores?”
