Medical and Martial God

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: The Appearance of the Devil

”Yes!” Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan nodded, but the moment they entered the ward, they were dumbfounded. They saw Ye Xiu furiously beating Huang Xinming as if he were slaughtering a pig.

”This...” Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan looked at each other in dismay.

Weren’t they told that Ye Xiu was gravely injured and on death’s door from the drug’s side effects? How could he still have so much energy while beating Huang Xinming?

”You’re here,” Ye Xiu said, stopping his brutal assault on Huang Xinming and turning toward Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan.

Seeing Ye Xiu’s mocking expression, the two instinctively turned to run.

However, it was too late.

Like a phantom, Ye Xiu blocked their path. BANG! BANG! With two swift kicks, Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan were sent flying without any chance to resist. They crashed into the wall and spat out a mouthful of blood as they slid to the ground, severely injured.

Yue Chengfeng wasn’t surprised; he had already experienced Ye Xiu’s power firsthand. Luo Senyuan, however, had not. He hadn’t believed it when he’d heard that Yue Chengfeng couldn’t even withstand a single one of Ye Xiu’s moves.

Now he believed.

Two Eighth Grade Grandmasters are like little chicks in his hands. We couldn’t even see how fast he moved. This guy is definitely a Great Grandmaster.

”Shh,” Ye Xiu whispered, making a silencing gesture. ”Don’t make a sound, or I’ll crush you.”

Yue Chengfeng: ”...”

Luo Senyuan: ”...”

Outside the ward, Ming Yue, Zheng Yiwen, and Li Bingliang waited for a while, but Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan never emerged with Ye Xiu. The three exchanged confused glances, wondering what was happening.

”Let’s go check it out!”

Zheng Yiwen and Li Bingliang pushed the door open and went inside.

Ming Yue did not go in. She had a feeling that something was wrong. Besides, she wouldn’t openly turn against Ye Xiu until she saw him either dead or captured by Zheng Yiwen with her own eyes. It was like walking a tightrope; too many people relax just before reaching the end, only to meet with tragedy. Ming Yue didn’t dare take that risk.

When Zheng Yiwen and Li Bingliang entered the ward, the scene inside made their expressions change drastically.

Ye Xiu was sitting on the hospital bed, his foot pinning a bruised and swollen Huang Xinming to the floor. Meanwhile, Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan were slumped against the wall, their faces pale and blood trickling from the corners of their mouths, clearly severely injured.

”What happened?” Zheng Yiwen demanded in shock.

”Madam, the Master misjudged,” Yue Chengfeng said weakly. ”Ye Xiu wasn’t suffering from any drug backlash at all. He truly is a Great Grandmaster. Luo Senyuan and I combined couldn’t withstand a single one of his moves.”

”That’s impossible...” Zheng Yiwen exclaimed. ”Ye Xiu is only twenty-six, and he didn’t start practicing Inner Strength from a young age. How could he possibly reach the Great Grandmaster Realm so young?”

”It’s true!” Luo Senyuan affirmed. ”Ye Xiu’s strength is the greatest I have ever witnessed. Forget about just me and Yue Chengfeng; even dozens of Eighth Grade Grandmasters working together would be no match for him.”

”This...” Zheng Yiwen felt as if she’d been struck by lightning.

Her elegant figure, clad in a cheongsam, began to tremble violently. The arrogant expression on her face was gone, replaced by pure panic and terror. She had volunteered to come to Jin Ye City to capture Ye Xiu, counting on him being seriously injured from the drug’s backlash so she could take the opportunity to humiliate him.

But now she discovered that his strength was real, and Luo Senyuan, the expert she had brought with her, had also been gravely wounded. This meant she was completely exposed to Ye Xiu’s Butcher’s Knife!

Zheng Yiwen had no doubt that, given everything she had done to Ye Xiu and his mother, he would kill her without a moment’s hesitation.

Outside, Ming Yue, who was eavesdropping at the door, let out a huge sigh of relief. She was secretly glad she hadn’t bet everything on the Ye Family. Thankfully, she hadn’t followed them inside; otherwise, she and the Ming Family would be doomed. Still, Ye Xiu’s strength as a Great Grandmaster was truly terrifying. She had no doubt that once Ye Xiu discovered the Ming Family was one of the masterminds from all those years ago, none of them would be able to escape his Butcher’s Knife.

”I think I can hear the sound of fear in your heart,” Ye Xiu said, looking at Zheng Yiwen mockingly, the Killing Intent in his eyes like thunder, ready to erupt.

”Nonsense! I am the First Madam of the Ye Family,” Zheng Yiwen retorted stiffly, forcing herself to appear calm. ”There is nothing in this world that can make me afraid.”

”That’s because you’ve never seen what a real devil looks like,” Ye Xiu sneered. ”Today, I’ll let you see one with your own eyes.”

He then looked at the petrified Li Bingliang standing behind Zheng Yiwen and asked, ”Would you like to see?”

Li Bingliang trembled violently and stammered, ”I-I-I... I was just their guide! Your business with the Ye Family has nothing to do with me! D-don’t drag me into this!”

SLAP!

Ye Xiu strode over and slapped Li Bingliang across the face. ”I know exactly how much dirt Ruiding Pharmaceuticals has on its hands.”

”I-I-I... I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Li Bingliang stammered, still trying to play dumb.

”Fine. Then I’ll be more specific,” Ye Xiu said. ”Years ago, Zheng Yiwen went to your father. She convinced him to work with the previous Medicine King and instigate various hospitals and pharmaceutical companies to join forces to destroy me.

”Your father was the one who contacted and organized all the masterminds in Jin Ye City who participated in framing me.

”It was also your father who first proposed hiring a hitman to kill my mother and my maternal grandparents in a staged car accident.

”Am I being detailed enough for you now?”

Li Bingliang and Zheng Yiwen stared in disbelief, unable to fathom how Ye Xiu knew all of this.

Meanwhile, Ming Yue, who was still eavesdropping outside, was so terrified she could barely stand. If she hadn’t been leaning against the wall and door for support, she would have collapsed in fear. She had always assumed Ye Xiu hadn’t yet identified the masterminds from back then, which was why he dealt with Fang Dahai and Huang Xinming first. But Ye Xiu’s words proved he knew far more than she’d ever imagined. To think, all those who had framed him back then were just Zheng Yiwen’s pawns. Zheng Yiwen was the real mastermind!

”You... you have no proof!” Li Bingliang said, grasping at straws.

”I don’t need proof. Suspicion is enough,” Ye Xiu said, patting Li Bingliang’s cheek. ”It’s time to witness the devil. Enjoy the show.”

With that, he took out his phone and made a call. ”Destroy Jinding Pharmaceuticals and the entire Li family.”

These words stunned everyone in the room, as well as Ming Yue, who was listening from outside. Destroy Jinding Pharmaceuticals with a single phone call? How was that possible? Jinding Pharmaceuticals was a corporation worth tens of billions.

”Stop bluffing, Ye Xiu,” Zheng Yiwen scoffed. ”Even a behemoth like the Ye Family couldn’t destroy Jinding Pharmaceuticals with a single phone call.”

Yue Chengfeng and Luo Senyuan were rendered speechless. Zheng Yiwen was already fish on Ye Xiu’s chopping block, yet she still dared to provoke him. Was she not afraid of being killed for enraging him?

”Patience, patience,” Ye Xiu said with a serene smile. ”The devil is on his way.”

Just then, a rapid succession of text message notifications began buzzing on Li Bingliang’s phone:

”Your bank account has transferred 491,843.37 to another bank. Available balance: 0.00.”

”Your bank account...”

”Your bank account...”
