Medical and Martial God

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I Hope the Disease Beats Him Soon

”Breaking news! During the Global War God Ranking conference, the War Gods from various nations suddenly joined forces to besiege the Eight Great National Protector War Gods of Xuanse. At a critical moment, Huang Quan appeared out of nowhere, slaughtered all the opposing War Gods, and saved Xuanse’s Eight Great National Protector War Gods!”

This news spread like a plague, quickly reaching every corner of the globe. The world was shocked, and the entire globe was shaken!

Yet no one doubted Huang Quan’s ability to wipe out the rankings. When the War God Ranking was first established, during the ”War God Ranking Battle,” Huang Quan had single-handedly scarred the War Gods from every nation, leaving them with deep-seated trauma.

Huang Quan was globally recognized as the ”King of War Gods,” an invincible legend. He was the sole forbidden entity who made the kings of all nations sit on pins and needles. He was the cold-blooded demon who ruled through global fear.

Why would such a person suddenly show up at the Global War God Ranking conference to save Xuanse’s Eight Great National Protector War Gods? And to save them, he hadn’t hesitated to slaughter the entire ranking! This question was a source of common confusion for people all over the world.

”Could it be that Huang Quan is actually one of our Xuanse War Gods, and it just was never made public?”

”I think Huang Quan must have taken a lot of money from Xuanse’s War Gods!”

”Oh, give me a break. If someone like Huang Quan needed money, the wealthy from all over the world would be falling over themselves to give it to him. Killing for money would be an insult to Huang Quan.”

”You’re all overthinking it. I bet Huang Quan was just drunk...”

Aboard a flight to Jin Ye City, passengers were embroiled in a heated discussion about why Huang Quan had saved the Eight Great National Protector War Gods of Xuanse. The sole exception was a handsome, scholarly young man who had been gazing out the window the entire time without uttering a single word.

”What do you think? Why did Huang Quan save the Eight Great National Protector War Gods of Xuanse?” the girl beside him couldn’t help but ask.

Ye Xiu glanced at her. ”For the Horde?”

The girl was instantly baffled. For the Horde? What in the world?

Just then, she found Ye Xiu’s face strangely familiar. ”Have we met somewhere before?” she asked.

Ye Xiu pondered for two seconds. ”Maybe. Sorry, I meet a lot of people, so I must have forgotten you. How much were you again?”

The girl felt she could no longer continue the conversation. In her twenty years of life, she had never met someone whose brain was wired so strangely.

Ye Xiu wasn’t in the mood to chat with her anyway.

Because he was Huang Quan. No one knew better than him why he had saved the Eight Great National Protector War Gods of Xuanse. First, he was a citizen of Xuanse; saving his own country’s War Gods required no reason. Second, he had returned this time for revenge and didn’t want the Xuanse Official Family to interfere. But you can’t ask for a favor empty-handed, so he slaughtered the War God Ranking and rescued the Eight Great National Protector War Gods as a little gift. Just those two reasons.

At that moment, the plane finally arrived at the Jin Ye City airport.

As Ye Xiu made his way out, the girl hurried after him. ”Meeting like this must be fate. Why don’t we exchange contact info? We could get coffee sometime. My name is—”

Ye Xiu cut her off coldly. ”Being my friend is dangerous.”

”Why?”

”Because I am Ye Xiu.”

The girl, Su Kexia, froze as if she’d been struck by lightning, utterly stunned.

No wonder his face looked so familiar. I thought my Prince Charming had finally appeared! Turns out it was that infamous outcast from the medical world who mysteriously disappeared ten years ago.

Ye Xiu had made his debut at sixteen. With his unparalleled Medical Skills, he defeated renowned doctors across the country to claim the crown of Xuanse’s Medicine King. Afterward, he opened a clinic to treat the poor for free and founded a pharmaceutical company with the lowest prices in the industry, operating on almost no profit. For a time, Ye Xiu was revered as the ”Chivalrous Doctor,” beloved by the nation and idolized by countless people.

But the good times didn’t last.

He was accused of colluding with medical equipment companies to sell fraudulent devices to major hospitals in exchange for kickbacks. Furthermore, drugs produced by his pharmaceutical company allegedly poisoned numerous people. His reputation plummeted, he was blacklisted by the entire industry, and he became an object of public scorn. When it rains, it pours; it was right around then that his mother and maternal grandparents were killed in a car accident. Not long after, Ye Xiu himself mysteriously vanished.

”Why?” the girl mustered the courage to catch up to him and ask. ”You had such a bright future back then. Why would you do those things?”

Ye Xiu didn’t answer. Am I supposed to say I was framed? No one believed me ten years ago, and now, I no longer care if anyone believes me or not.

Just then, Ye Xiu walked out of the airport terminal. An elderly man with a distinguished air, flanked by two bodyguards, approached him. ”Young Master, after ten long years, you have finally returned!”

”Do I know you? Scram!” Ye Xiu said coldly.

He tried to walk around the old man, but the two bodyguards blocked his path.

”What’s the meaning of this?” Ye Xiu stopped and stared coldly at the old man.

”Young Master, your father is ill. Only you can save him. The master sent me to bring you back to treat his illness.” The old man spoke deferentially, yet his tone was commanding and his attitude arrogant, as if Ye Xiu were not a young master but a mere ant.

”Ill?” Ye Xiu’s eyes lit up. ”I certainly hope the illness wins its battle soon.”

The old man’s expression soured. ”Young Master, is it appropriate to curse your own father like that?”

”He is not my father!” Ye Xiu’s expression suddenly turned ferocious.

”To marry his mistress, he framed my mother for having an affair, claiming I was some other man’s bastard, and threw us both out of the Ye Family.

”Ten years ago, after I won the title of Medicine King, he shamelessly dragged me back to the Ye Family to exploit my fame and Medical Skills for their profit.

”When I was framed and begged him to help clear my name, he cast me out again, publicly announcing I was the bastard product of my mother’s affair and had nothing to do with the Ye Family.

”After my mother and grandparents died in that car crash, I was hunted by assassins with nowhere to run. I had money, but no one would sell me food, forcing me to scavenge from trash cans. When I begged him for help one last time, he claimed he didn’t know me.

”And now that he’s knocking on death’s door, he suddenly remembers he has a son?”

His words sent a chill down the girl’s spine. She couldn’t have imagined Ye Xiu’s life had been so tragic, nor did she ever suspect that he had been framed a decade ago.

”No matter what you say, he is still your father,” the old man rebuked. ”Today, you’re coming with me whether you like it or not. If you insist on doing this the hard way, don’t blame me for being forceful.”

A cold glint flashed in Ye Xiu’s eyes. ”Are you threatening me?”

”That’s right!” the old man affirmed, gesturing to the bodyguards behind him. ”These two are professional Sanshou fighters. I don’t mind letting them use you as a punching bag for a while before we drag you away.”

Ye Xiu shot the two bodyguards a disdainful look. ”My original plan was to deal with all my other enemies before taking care of the Ye Family. But since you’re in such a hurry, I’ll give you an early taste of fear. Make your move.”

”You...” The old man hadn’t expected Ye Xiu would rather take a beating than return to the Ye Family. He had no choice but to command, ”Fine! Since the Young Master is being so stubborn, don’t blame me for getting rough. You two, beat him up first, then bring him along.”

The moment he finished speaking, the two bodyguards, who were already poised to act, lunged forward, reaching for Ye Xiu’s shoulders from either side.

Seeing this, the girl broke out in a cold sweat for Ye Xiu. He looks so refined, like a pop idol, while the bodyguards are huge and burly. And there are two of them! How can he possibly win?

But the next moment, she was completely stunned.

Faced with the bodyguards’ attack, Ye Xiu calmly took a single step back. Then his hands shot out, precisely grabbing both of their wrists.

CRACK! CRACK!

He had brutally snapped them. The white of their bones was starkly visible.

”Trash.”

With one punch for each, Ye Xiu knocked the two bodyguards unconscious. He then looked down upon the old man with the disdain of a king.

”I am no longer the same Ye Xiu the Ye Family could manipulate at will ten years ago. I hope you realize that, and I hope you tell the Ye Family.”
