Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Ye Xiu’s Astonishing Family Fortune

”Why are you still thinking about making money at a time like this?” Ming Yue shot Ming Hao a look. ”Hurry up and figure out a way to get rid of Ye Xiu!”

At that moment, Ming Yue’s father spoke up. ”All of Ye Xiu’s assets should be exposed now: unknown yet astounding wealth, large-scale slaughtering companies abroad, considerable connections and influence overseas, his apprentice, the Ghost Doctor, within the country, and some other subordinates.”

”I think so too,” Ming Yue said.

”Know the enemy and know yourself, and you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles. Now that we know all of Ye Xiu’s cards, it’s time for us to make our move,” Ming Hao declared.

”What move?” Ming Yue asked.

”The same old tricks,” Ming Hao said with a smile. ”First, we spread the news of Ye Xiu’s return.

”At the same time, we’ll dredge up the past. We’ll repost all the articles and posts about his appalling deeds from back then. The internet today is far more developed than it was ten years ago. It’ll be enough to make Ye Xiu infamous nationwide overnight.

”When Ye Xiu steps out tomorrow morning, he’ll find the scene from ten years ago replaying itself. Everyone who sees him will attack and curse him. He’ll have plenty of money, but no one will sell him anything to eat or drink...”

Hearing Ming Hao’s plan, Ming Yue’s heart pounded with excitement, as if she could already see Ye Xiu being treated like a rat in the street.

She said fiercely, ”Spread his home address too! I’ll make sure Ye Xiu and Qin Qing have nowhere to live.”

”Good!” Ming Hao nodded. ”Let’s start with this first step. Once it proves effective, we’ll send people to assassinate him.”

”Then let’s get started right away,” Ming Yue said eagerly.

”I’m already prepared!” Ming Hao took out his phone, sent a text message, and then said, ”Quick, search for Ye Xiu online. Let’s see how the netizens are reacting.”

Without needing his reminder, Ming Yue and her parents had already started. They typed ”Ye Xiu” into their search engine and hit search. Instantly, a vast number of articles about him appeared. The number of articles grew dozens of times with each refresh. In just a few seconds, millions of articles about Ye Xiu had flooded the internet.

”Let’s see how the netizens are trashing Ye Xiu.” Ming Yue smiled and clicked on a post... and it was gone.

What happened?

Ming Yue backed out and opened another article, but it was also gone.

”What’s going on? Why are all the articles and posts broken? There’s nothing inside when you open them,” Ming Yue’s father said.

”Impossible.” Ming Hao also opened his browser and searched for Ye Xiu. Where there had been millions of posts a moment ago, not a single one could now be found.

The family of four was stunned. They had launched their plan with such enthusiasm, only to see it fail at the very first step.

”It seems Ye Xiu learned his lesson from ten years ago,” Ming Hao said gravely. ”He must have hired a team to patrol the internet and instantly delete any post made about him.”

”I’ll try!” Ming Yue said, deciding to post one herself.

She created a post with the title: ”Ye Xiu is so handsome, I want to have your babies.” The content was full of lavish praise for him.

After posting it, she waited a moment, closed the browser, then reopened it and searched for the post. It was still there. She clicked on it, and the content was intact.

Huh? Why wasn’t it deleted?

So, Ming Yue posted another. This time, the title was: ”Ye Xiu, Medical Disgrace, Worse Than a Beast.” The content described how Ye Xiu had ruined a young woman... The moment it was posted, it was deleted.

Ming Yue was dumbfounded.

What’s the deal with this? Posts that praise you get to stay, but posts that criticize you are deleted in a second?

”Posting articles is easy, but deleting them is hard. You need the website that hosts the content to do it for you,” Ming Hao said, his expression grave. ”And that’s not something money alone can solve.”

”It seems Ye Xiu still has many cards up his sleeve that we don’t know about,” Ming Hao said.

Ming Yue and her parents felt a deep sense of agreement.

”Ming Yue, you need to keep getting closer to Ye Xiu,” Ming Hao said in a low voice. ”Try to uncover all of his trump cards as soon as possible.”

”Okay!” Ming Yue nodded.

「The next morning.」

Qin Qing woke up to find the spot beside her in bed empty.

”Ye Xiu?” Qin Qing called out. She got out of bed, threw on her pajamas, and went outside, her hair still a mess.

She saw Ye Xiu practicing with his knife on the lawn, so she sat on the steps, resting her face in her hands as she watched him.

Ye Xiu’s knife movements were slow, almost like Tai Chi, yet they exuded a tyrannical and berserk aura.

”Go back inside to wash up and change. After we eat, I’m taking you somewhere,” Ye Xiu said, sheathing his knife and walking over to her.

”Where to?” Qin Qing asked lazily. She hadn’t felt this relaxed in ten years and was so comfortable she didn’t want to go anywhere at all.

”I found a job for you,” Ye Xiu said with a smile. ”I’m taking you to your first day.”

Qin Qing was immediately displeased. ”Our family is so rich now. Isn’t it fine for me to just relax at home like a rich man’s wife?”

”Chairwoman of the Zhulu Group or a rich man’s wife. Take your pick,” Ye Xiu said.

”What?”

Chairwoman of the Zhulu Group?

Qin Qing’s brain short-circuited for three seconds before a realization dawned on her. She exclaimed in shock, ”You... you mean that Zhulu Consortium, the one with assets approaching a trillion... it’s... it’s yours...”

”That’s right. It’s mine,” Ye Xiu nodded.

BAM!

Qin Qing suddenly felt as if she’d been kicked in the head by a donkey. Her head was ringing.

A company called the Zhulu Group had been quietly established five years ago. In just five years, it grew at an astonishing speed into a behemoth with assets approaching a trillion, becoming a legend in Jin Ye City and even the global business world.

The scope of the Zhulu Group’s business was extensive, covering biotechnology, the internet, e-commerce, real estate, new energy vehicles, pharmaceuticals, big data, online payments, and more. Essentially, if a business was profitable, the Zhulu Group had a hand in it, and they were always a leader in the field.

What shocked the business world most was that the Zhulu Group had a zero-debt ratio. Major banks practically begged the company to take out loans, but the Zhulu Group always refused. It seemed as if their cash flow was truly inexhaustible.

The outside world was always curious about who the mysterious owner behind the Zhulu Group was and where all its funding came from. Nobody knew the answers.

But now...

”Three years ago, when the Qin Corporation’s funding chain broke and it was facing bankruptcy, the Zhulu Group suddenly offered to inject capital. Was that your doing?” Qin Qing asked in shock.

”It was,” Ye Xiu said with a smile.

Qin Qing gave a wry smile. No wonder. When the Zhulu Group injected capital into the Qin Corporation, its one condition was that she become the CEO. At the time, the Qin Family and the rest of the industry couldn’t fathom the Zhulu Group’s motives.

So it was all Ye Xiu’s doing!

”Where did you get so much money?” Qin Qing couldn’t help but ask.

”The Zhulu Group is just one of my enterprises,” Ye Xiu said casually. ”I have many others, both in the country and abroad. For example, there’s the Meng Family’s Jingtian Group in Jin Ye City, the Ghost Doctor’s Shenghe Medical College and Shenghe Hospital, the Qin Corporation, dozens of companies held by Zhulu Capital’s investment arm, and many other companies overseas. After you take over as Chairwoman, you can start integrating all of them.”
