Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 399: Chapter 398: I’m Not Selling!

”Body-Strengthening Pill,” Ye Haochuan said slowly.

”Body-Strengthening Pill?” Chen Zhonghe was surprised, ”I have heard of this medicine. It’s said that it’s already being traded on the black market for tens of millions and still it’s hard to find!”

”Indeed.” Ye Haochuan felt joyful inside; this saved him the trouble of having to explain further.

Chen Zhonghe hesitated for a moment, then said, ”This kind of Body-Strengthening Pill seems to be available in your affiliated hospital, right? I know Director Wang Hongjun of the Drug Administration. He mentioned that your hospital had sent some samples of the Body-Strengthening Pill to their department for testing.”

”Indeed, our affiliated hospital does have this special medicine, but it is extremely rare. Since Commander Ma is so desperate to save his daughter, you should prepare ten million in funds...”

Ye Haochuan said indifferently.

Chen Zhonghe frowned and said, ”Just for a single pill, isn’t ten million a bit too expensive?”

”This price was set by the Price Bureau. Our hospital has no authority to change it now,” Ye Haochuan said evasively.

”Well, that can be handled. I will report back to Secretary Tao, and I believe Secretary Tao will intervene to have the Price Bureau lower the price. After all, the price of this special medicine is too high; how can ordinary people afford it?” Chen Zhonghe complained.

This special medicine was meant for the high-end market; naturally, it has to be expensive. Did he really expect it to be cheap as cabbages? Damn, he had risked his life to get these, why should he let someone take advantage at just a mere say?

Ye Haochuan was greatly displeased and remarked slowly, ”Director Chen, I’m afraid even Secretary Tao’s intervention won’t help.”

”What, even if Secretary Tao steps in, it won’t help?” Chen Zhonghe was stunned for a moment.

”Yes,” Ye Haochuan said, giving a cold smile, ”because this special medicine was developed by me. I risked my life to bring it back, and I won’t sell it for less than ten million per pill!”

”What? You developed this special medicine? Are you joking? Surely I heard wrong,” Chen Zhonghe was flabbergasted.

”What? Director Chen, do you think I’m joking with you?” Ye Haochuan snorted.

Chen Zhonghe was startled: ”This... ”

Suddenly, he realized that things were not so simple. Damn it, this brat, on the surface he said he didn’t want the hundred thousand consultation fee, but in reality, he was aiming to make a fortune from this special medicine.

Ten million, how could Secretary Tao afford that? Was he expected to embezzle? That would be harmful!

Thinking of this, Chen Zhonghe hurriedly said, ”Doctor Ye, life is often not just about money. Think about it, if you were to save Secretary Tao’s granddaughter, then surely Secretary Tao would help you in many ways afterward, and what you’d earn could far surpass a mere ten million.”

”Heh, sorry Director Chen, I don’t understand big principles; I only recognize money. Without money, nothing else matters,” Ye Haochuan declared bluntly.

By now, Chen Zhonghe had fully understood; this young man had been playing him all along and never even intended to save anyone! And he had been foolishly pleased before.

Thinking this, Chen Zhonghe felt a surge of anger and shouted, ”Ye Haochuan, have you been ignoring all my good words? I’m telling you, don’t think too highly of yourself. With your status, what makes you so arrogant?”

Clearly, by this point, Chen Zhonghe’s temper had completely flared up. How could he, a director of the health bureau, be defied by a mere doctor?

However, Ye Haochuan, who hated those who abused power, also shouted back, ”Chen Zhonghe, let me tell you as well, don’t think too highly of yourself. With your status, you’re just a tiny health bureau director, what’s there to be so arrogant about?”

”You...”

Chen Zhonghe was furious. Ye Haochuan was the first to openly defy him. He slammed the table furiously and said, ”You little bastard, just you wait, just you wait! I’m going to have you removed from the Haishan City Hospital system right now and blacklisted nationwide. I’d like to see how you can practice medicine after that!”

”Haha!” Ye Haochuan burst out laughing, ”Is there really nowhere under heaven that can accommodate Ye Haochuan? Chen Zhonghe, you really underestimate me!”

After saying that, he hung up the phone immediately.

Kou Jing, who was beside him, had heard everything and said anxiously, ”Are you crazy?”

”I’m not crazy!”

Ye Haochuan snorted coldly, ”That guy named Ma really underestimates me. We could have resolved this with an apology, but he had to use his father-in-law’s influence to oppress me, completely unacceptable. Am I, Ye Haochuan, someone who compromises so easily? So what if I am deprived of my medical practice license? Is that such a big deal? I can’t practice medicine publicly? I’d rather enjoy the peace!”

Kou Jing tried to persuade him repeatedly, but Ye Haochuan still wouldn’t listen. While packing his things, he asked her to inform the patients and their families waiting outside, explaining that he had already been stripped of his medical qualifications.

”Has it really come to such an irreversible point?” Kou Jing said helplessly.

”That’s settled then,” Ye Haochuan said in a stern voice.

Actually, he was also considering taking some time off, especially since he was about to head to the Sub-Fire Dimension Realm, he needed to make some preparations.

Helplessly, Kou Jing had no choice but to tell the patients and their families waiting outside about his predicament.

Unexpectedly, this immediately caused a huge uproar among those people. Many of them expressed their anger on the spot, cursing incessantly.

”Damn it, what kind of health bureau is this? They never do anything right!”

”Shit, Doctor Ye’s medical skills are so profound, yet the assholes at the health bureau want to strip him of his medical license. That’s bullshit!”

”Trashy health bureau, can’t distinguish right from wrong. I also saw what happened in the cafeteria at noon. It was clearly someone setting up Doctor Ye!”

...

The crowd voiced their support for Ye Haochuan one after another, and of course, many patients also pleaded for him to stay.

Ultimately, Ye Haochuan couldn’t bear to leave just yet and said he would treat the patients’ illnesses before leaving his position.

However, the situation developed beyond his control. Just half an hour later, after he had just cured a patient with stomach ulcers, people from the city health bureau arrived, led by the same secretary who had been with Chen Zhonghe that morning.

As soon as this secretary walked in, he started scolding, ”Ye Haochuan, you’ve caused a serious medical incident, you’ve already been removed from your position, and you still have the face to practice here? Pack your things and get lost immediately!”

The patients and their families waiting around immediately exploded upon hearing this, and they started berating him fiercely.

The secretary hadn’t expected so many people to support Ye Haochuan. He asserted his authority and yelled, ”What are you all yelling about? What are you all yelling about? A bunch of fools, what do you know? Ye Haochuan is a quack, understand?”
