Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 379: Chapter 378: Wool Grows on a Pig, But the Dog Pays the Bill!

Here she comes, here she comes! All women really do love to get jealous!

Ye Haochuan had a bit of a headache and sheepishly replied, ”What’s the matter now?”

Kou Jing pinched his arm fiercely and said, ”Still playing dumb with me? I saw everything, how you two were scheming together just now?”

”Scheming together?” Ye Haochuan chuckled, ”So tell me, how were we scheming together? Were you imagining a man on top and a woman below? or the other way around? Or perhaps...”

This dead man, the more he talks, the further he goes!

Feeling both amused and exasperated, Kou Jing gave him a light glare, ”If you don’t confess honestly, just watch how I’ll deal with you.”

”Deal with me? Doctor Kou, would you really bear to?” Ye Haochuan said with a shameless grin.

Unable to help feeling a mix of embarrassment and annoyance, Kou Jing retorted, ”What are you talking about? Who can’t bear to part with you, huh? I wouldn’t hesitate to leave any cat or dog, let alone you.”

Seeing how she easily shifted the topic, Ye Haochuan chuckled inwardly and continued, ”Since when did you start not being able to bear parting with me?”

”I don’t know,” Kou Jing pouted.

”You don’t have to say it, I know. It started from the first time we met, when you fell for me at first sight, right?” Ye Haochuan said with a grin.

”Pfft, stop flattering yourself! Fell for you at first sight? You’re really pushing your shamelessness to the limit, huh?” Kou Jing huffed.

”That’s what you get for not telling me the truth,” Ye Haochuan laughed. Continuing, he threatened in a playful manner, ”Better spit out the truth, or else I might really have to be ruthless with you.”

Seeing his fierce pretense, Kou Jing felt helpless, her cheeks reddening, and she muttered with her head down, ”It was when you jumped off the cliff to save me.”

But instead of feeling thrilled, Ye Haochuan looked utterly dejected, ”I thought it was before that. I didn’t expect it to be only after I played the hero, how sad, how sad...”

Looking at his disheartened expression, Kou Jing felt a pinch of pity and bit her lip before admitting, ”Actually, after you saved Li Wenfeng, I started to admire you a bit, and of course, started to like you a little bit too...”

Hey, now that’s more like it!

Ye Haochuan beamed, but feigned dissatisfaction, ”That’s more like it. I mean, with my charm, being universally loved, flowers blooming at the sight, it would be strange if you didn’t like me.”

Listening to his self-praise, Kou Jing was left speechless but also amused.

The two of them chatted affectionately on the rooftop for over an hour when suddenly, Kou Jing’s phone rang.

Kou Jing took out her phone to see that it was a call from Old Master Kou.

”It’s getting late, I need to go back.” Kou Jing glanced at him, her eyes showing a touch of reluctance.

”Alright then.” Ye Haochuan didn’t want to press her, knowing there would be other opportunities, as Kou Jing was already like a dish on his chopping board—he could have her whenever he wanted.

”Really? You’re not even going to try to keep me?” Kou Jing suddenly cooed playfully.

Sweat, these women in love are so affected!

Ye Haochuan couldn’t help but laugh and cry, so he made a show of persuading her to stay for a bit, tickling Kou Jing into bursts of joy.

After another passionate kiss, Ye Haochuan carried Kou Jing down from the roof, and they went their separate ways.

Afterward, Ye Haochuan went to the townhouse. Elder Xiao had already gone to sleep, but Xiao Haimie was still awake, preparing materials in the study.

Seeing him arrive, Xiao Haimie greeted him with a smile that was not quite a smile, ”Why are you so late? Have you been out enjoying yourself again?”

Ye Haochuan’s face turned red and he said, ”That’s not the case at all.”

Xiao Haimie gave him a sidelong glance and said, ”Next time before you lie, it’s best if you wipe off the lipstick on your face first.”

Ye Haochuan then realized his mistake and wished he could slap himself right there. Damn, he was too careless in his affair.

However, he had quite a thick skin and chuckled, ”My wife is really impressive, with keen eyesight. I’m utterly convinced and bow down to you.”

”Cut it out,” Xiao Haimie rolled her eyes at him, ”Go wash your face first, and then talk to me.”

”Yes, ma’am.” Ye Haochuan hurriedly ran to the bathroom, washed his face, and then scurried back to the study.

”Sister Mei, I’m back,” Ye Haochuan said with a grin.

Hearing his amusing words, Xiao Haimie couldn’t help but cover her mouth and let out a delicate chuckle: ”You, you just can’t change your doggy ways.”

Ye Haochuan scratched his head awkwardly and laughed without retort; then he suddenly glanced at the documents in her hand, he was taken aback, ”Are these the plans for acquiring a pharmaceutical company?”

Xiao Haimie smiled, ”Yes, these are the plans for the acquisition. Although we don’t have money at hand right now, I believe in you, and I’m convinced that before long we’ll turn things around. I’m preparing early so as not to be overwhelmed later.”

”Excellent.” Ye Haochuan praised, ”If the upcoming trip to the Sub-Fire Dimension Realm turns out to be fruitful, we can start operating the pharmaceutical company. Then, we’ll be able to mass-produce certain drugs, and it will be hard not to make a fortune.”

”Yes.” Xiao Haimie also became somewhat excited, ”With these drugs, I believe it won’t be long before the Xiao Family can rise again. By the way, darling, when the time comes, how much do you think we should price these drugs at?”

”We can slightly lower the price of other drugs, but for the Body-Strengthening Pill, we should set a higher price. Rarity breeds value, after all.”

”However, higher prices mean paying a lot in taxes,” Xiao Haimie hesitated.

”No matter, the wool comes from the pig, but the dog will foot the bill!” Ye Haochuan said, laughing.

Xiao Haimie found his comment amusing and replied, ”You really are funny.”

Ye Haochuan burst into loud laughter, ”That’s just how it is.”

Suddenly, Xiao Haimie remembered something and said, ”Oh, by the way, our university-affiliated hospital is going to be officially operational tomorrow. To make a good name for ourselves, I’ve discussed with the board members of the Medical University, and we’ve decided to hold a specialist consultation session for serious cases transferred from other hospitals.”

”A specialist consultation?” Ye Haochuan was surprised. ”Aren’t our hospital’s heavyweight experts quite limited?”

”No, these experts have all been invited from other hospitals. Honestly, it’s thanks to your reputation that they agreed to come.” Xiao Haimie said.

”My reputation?” Ye Haochuan was even more perplexed.

”Haven’t you thought about it? After your big moment at Haishan Medical University last time, who in Haishan’s medical field doesn’t know or recognize your name?” Xiao Haimie explained.

Ye Haochuan suddenly understood, and felt a surge of joy. He hadn’t expected to make a name for himself so quickly. It hadn’t been easy!

”But be careful; these expert doctors all look down on you, thinking you’re just seeking fame without real medical skill. I’m afraid someone might give you a hard time tomorrow,” Xiao Haimie warned.

”No problem, plenty of people don’t think highly of me. What do they matter? Wait and see how I’ll win them over by heart and voice,” Ye Haochuan said with unrestrained pride.

”Only you would boast about yourself,” Xiao Haimie said with a smile on her face.

Ye Haochuan winked and said with innuendo, ”Wrong, I never enjoy boasting about myself. I do enjoy it when a beautiful woman blows my trumpet...”

Before Xiao Haimie could grasp what ”blowing the trumpet” meant, Ye Haochuan lasciviously smiled and gently pushed her charming head down.

”Stop it!”

Xiao Haimie glared at him playfully and coquettishly, and in the end, still...
