Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 382: Chapter 381 Medical Skills Exchange

”You’re right,”

Ye Haochuan smiled but immediately shifted his tone, ”However, stepping back for a moment, even if we don’t consider factors like nurturing and improving the body, is it really necessary to go through the trouble of concocting Ephedra Decoction for something minor like a common cold? Wouldn’t a simple cold remedy solve the problem? Where’s the waste of time in that?”

The old expert hesitated, ”This...”

Ye Haochuan continued, ”Times are changing, and Traditional Chinese Medicine must progress with them. Clinging to the ways of our ancestors is not suitable for this fast-paced society. Otherwise, Traditional Chinese Medicine can only decline completely.”

After pausing, he added, ”I believe to solve this, we must start at the root. Western Medicine is popular because of its convenience. If Traditional Chinese Medicine achieved this, everything else would fall into place.”

The old expert spoke with a hint of sarcasm, ”You talk big, but surely you have some concrete methods, right?”

”The method is actually very simple. For minor illnesses like the common cold, Traditional Chinese Medicine indeed can’t compete with Western Medicine, because Western Medicine is inexpensive, and for these minor ailments, Traditional Chinese Medicine is relatively pricey and more time-consuming. Therefore, our focus in Traditional Chinese Medicine should be on researching major illnesses, strange illnesses, and cases that can be resolved without surgery.”

”In fact, Traditional Chinese Medicine is profound and extensive. Not all cases require herbal medicine for diagnosis and treatment. Methods like acupuncture, massage, cupping, Qigong, and medicinal diets can all achieve the purpose of healing. It’s just that many people have a misconception that the Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment process is cumbersome, which is why they opt for Western Medicine. But the question is, is the Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment process really that cumbersome?”

At this point, Ye Haochuan looked around and smiled, ”Since all the leaders and expert professors are present, after the ribbon-cutting ceremony and during the medical exchange, why don’t we conduct some comparative trials on site? How does that sound?”

The guests present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were all there to witness Ye Haochuan’s medical expertise, so they unanimously agreed.

Then, under the guidance of Xiao Haimei, the ribbon-cutting ceremony proceeded smoothly and soon moved into the medical exchange section.

As the protagonist of the day, Ye Haochuan began his lecture on the medical exchange from the podium. However, as soon as he mentioned that Traditional Chinese Medicine’s acupuncture techniques have unique strengths in certain areas, such as inhibiting neural reflexes, there were immediate objections.

”Doctor Ye, you mentioned that acupuncture can inhibit neural reflexes, but I can’t agree with that. Could you give an example?” asked a specialist in his forties.

Ye Haochuan nodded, ”Okay, I’ll use the knee-jerk reflex as an example. As everyone knows, in Western Medicine, the knee-jerk reflex is considered unsuppressible. But I’ve told you, in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the knee-jerk reflex can be suppressed. If anyone doubts it, come up and try for yourself.”

”I will!”

”I’ll do it! Let me do it!”

The audience below responded eagerly.

Ye Haochuan invited a volunteer to the stage and had them sit with one leg naturally draped over the other. Then, with the edge of his palm, he quickly tapped the ligament below the volunteer’s kneecap.

Immediately, the volunteer’s thigh bounced up.

”Very good.”

Ye Haochuan nodded and then had the volunteer roll up their pant leg. He beckoned with his hand and held two silver needles, inserting them one after the other into the Outer Pass and Linqi points, and then gently swept his hand over them. The soft True Qi flowed through the silver needles into the points.

”Please watch closely,” Ye Haochuan said, tapping in the same manner as before.

However, this time, the knee-jerk reflex did not occur at all.

”It’s magical.”

”Yes, it’s unbelievable!”

”I never thought that the acupuncture techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine could be so powerful; it’s simply incredible.”

Faced with the undeniable evidence right before their eyes, they couldn’t help but believe. However, an expert skilled in Traditional Chinese Medicine raised a doubt, ”No, this knee-jerk reflex—I’ve researched it as well—simply performing acupuncture should not have any effect. How exactly did you do it?”

”The reason is quite simple. Just now, while I was performing acupuncture, I also used our Huaxia’s Qigong healing methods,” Ye Haochuan explained with a smile.

”Qigong?” The expert paused, ”That’s odd. I’ve been involved in Traditional Chinese Medicine research for many years, and I’ve also studied Qigong to a certain extent. Qigong indeed plays a significant role in maintaining health, but this is the first time I’ve heard that Qigong can have therapeutic effects.”

Ye Haochuan smiled slightly, ”Actually, in Huaxia’s Traditional Chinese Medicine, it has always been believed that the human body is a unity of Qi, form, and spirit. The practice of Qigong healing was always a fundamental skill that physicians had to master. However, in modern society, because our predecessors did not pass it down well, the cultivation techniques of Qigong were lost...”

”The cultivation techniques of Qigong were lost? Doesn’t seem like it, right? Aren’t many in Traditional Chinese Medicine still cultivating their nature and practicing Qigong?” Someone in the audience questioned.

Ye Haochuan smiled slightly, ”The cultivation techniques of Qigong practiced today are merely the superficial aspects passed down from our ancestors and cannot be compared to those of the past. Watch closely...”

As he spoke, he shouted sharply, swung his large hand, and a powerful surge of True Qi swept out, causing a flowerpot not far from the podium to move almost a meter away.

”Ah!”

Many in the audience cried out in shock. No one had expected his Qigong to be so powerful.

This was still him being deliberately conservative; otherwise, the flowerpot would have been shattered by the overwhelming True Qi long ago.

Looking at the shocked eyes below the podium, Ye Haochuan felt quite pleased with himself. A bunch of people with limited views, now they knew what true Qigong was, right?

”In fact, whether it’s acupuncture or Qigong, neither exists in isolation within Traditional Chinese Medicine. When combined, they can have even greater effects, such as in emergency care. The combination of acupuncture and Qigong is often more effective than Western medicine in stopping arterial bleeding...”

He had just said this when immediately an expert from below the podium said, ”Combining acupuncture and Qigong to stop arterial bleeding? Are you kidding me?”

This statement instantly garnered nodding from other experts. If what he said could truly be achieved, what huge impact would it have on emergency surgeries?

Without arguing, Ye Haochuan just smiled, extended his arm, exposed his wrist, and before the audience could react, he summoned a fruit knife into his hand. Then, with a flash, he sliced through the artery in his wrist, rupturing it instantly.

Blood splattered immediately.

The audience erupted into chaos; everyone was shocked. No one had expected him to be so ruthless as to self-harm.

Specially, Xiao Haimie and Kou Jing, who were among the audience, were extremely nervous and stood up simultaneously without any agreement.

But soon, everyone watched in utter amazement at an incredibly eerie scene.
