Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 370: Chapter 369 Mayor Lin

Seeing this old bastard actually trying to take advantage of her, Xiao Haimei couldn’t help feeling annoyed.

Instinctively, she moved a bit further away from this old bastard, her pretty face hardened as she said, ”Director Wang, please show some respect for yourself.”

Seeing that she wasn’t going to submit easily, Wang Hongjun’s face showed embarrassment, and at the same time, he felt displeased, thinking, ”I don’t believe it, a has-been daughter of the Xiao Family, what right do you have to stand up to me?”

”Haimie, ah, you’re really hurting my feelings with what you’re saying. Look at my weight, where am I not respecting myself?” Wang Hongjun said shamelessly.

Looking at Wang Hongjun’s face, Xiao Haimei immediately thought of Ye Haochuan. That bad guy had the same naughty look, but at least he was handsome and dashing, unlike you, fat as a pig, utterly disgusting.

”Director Wang, as the head of the Drug Administration, don’t you think it’s a bit thuggish to talk to me like this?”

Xiao Haimei snorted coldly, thinking that since this old bastard had no shame, there was no point in talking any further. If it came to it, she could just call on the old connections of the Xiao Family and ask Li Tianwei, the boss of Tianwei Group, to handle this.

Originally, she had considered this possibility, but the Xiao Family was not what it used to be. It seemed like a waste of connections to bother Li Tianwei over such a trivial matter.

In her principles of dealing with things, she wouldn’t involve personal relationships if money could solve the problem, because after all, favors owed were the hardest to repay.

”Haimie, what do you mean by ’thuggish behavior’?” Wang Hongjun sneered. ”Do you still want to get the drug inspection report or not?”

”Director Wang, of course I want to get the drug inspection report, but if I am to get it, I want to do so openly and honorably, not sneakily.”

Since the conversation had reached this point, Xiao Haimei simply threw caution to the wind and spoke without holding back.

Seeing her resolute expression, Wang Hongjun felt a chill in his heart, realizing something was off. After all, how could he, a sitting director, not have some capabilities to have reached his current position in the officialdom?

There’s a saying that even a starving camel is bigger than a horse.

Though the Xiao Family had declined, the complex network of relationships had not yet been severed, and the influence of the Xiao Family was still there.

Thinking of this, Wang Hongjun was secretly alarmed, but soon after, he became unbridled again. You’ve got to be joking; what am I now, if not the Director of the Drug Administration? Who the hell would stand up for a fallen Xiao Family?

Besides, with Secretary Tao of the municipal committee backing me up, even Mayor Lin dares not to defy me. So what do I have to fear from a has-been Xiao Family?

With this thought, he felt emboldened and said darkly, ”Alright, you want to get the drug inspection report fairly and squarely? Then just wait.”

”How long do I have to wait?” Xiao Haimei obviously felt that he was stalling her, and her long-suppressed anger burst forth, ”Director Wang, as the head of the Drug Administration, you must give me a straight answer, right?”

Seeing her attitude, Wang Hongjun grew even more annoyed and snorted, ”Then, I’m sorry, the drugs you submitted have an unclear source, especially since there’s no pharmaceutical manufacturer. We can only proceed with further testing when you provide us with the pharmaceutical manufacturer’s information.”

Xiao Haimei frowned, she had considered this issue before, but Ye Haochuan had told her that the drugs were personally concocted by him and that no pharmaceutical manufacturer could produce them.

”Director Wang, the drug we submitted for inspection is quite special and cannot be mass-produced. Therefore, no pharmaceutical manufacturer is able to take on this order. We can only concoct it manually through our university hospital...”

”Concocted manually? What kind of safety can that guarantee?” Wang Hongjun scoffed right there, ”Chairman Xiao, I suggest you go back and give it some more thought. When you’ve figured it out, come and find me.”

Xiao Haimei could hear the meaning behind his words quite clearly; he obviously wanted her to submit to his sexual power and accept his harassment. She angrily replied, ”No need to think about it anymore.”

”No need to think anymore?” Wang Hongjun scoffed again, ”Chairman Xiao, your family’s fortunes are waning, and if you want to rise again, you’re relying on this affiliated hospital. Are you really willing to...”

He had also heard about the Xiao Family’s overnight downfall early on.

Now, in order to repay a huge external debt, the Xiao Family had sold many assets, keeping only Haishan University. If anyone claimed that the Xiao Family had no plans for a comeback, he would never believe it.

A few days ago, when he saw the medical inspection application submitted by Haishan University, he suddenly realized that the Xiao Family intended to use the establishment of the Haishan University Affiliated Hospital to expand into new business and achieve a resurgence.

”No need!” Xiao Haimei refused firmly.

”Fine, then you can forget about getting the medical inspection report,” Wang Hongjun, unable to coerce her into compliance, became infuriated and began uttering threats.

Seeing him completely tear off his mask of civility, Xiao Haimei suddenly stood up with a sneer, ”Don’t care for it!”

After saying that, Xiao Haimei turned to walk out of the private room, and just then, Ye Haochuan pushed the door and entered, his face dark with anger.

Remembering the humiliation she had just endured, Xiao Haimei’s tears suddenly started flowing like a flood, and she threw herself into Ye Haochuan’s arms, ”Darling, I...”

”Don’t worry, I’m here,” Ye Haochuan patted her back gently.

On the other side, Wang Hongjun, seeing their intimate interaction, had his face change color, damn it, after all this time, this damn kid was not her assistant at all, probably her boyfriend.

”Poisonous fog!” Wang Hongjun jealously nearly went mad, snorting heavily as he prepared to leave.

Damn it, this old guy, if I don’t take care of him today, I won’t be able to calm the rage in my heart.

Earlier outside, Ye Haochuan had seen through the room with ”Perspective,” and was already itching to deal with Old Wang, so as he saw him trying to sneak away, he immediately blocked him, coldly saying, ”What? You want to leave?”

Wang Hongjun’s old face changed, he frowned and said, ”What do you want to do?”

”What do you think?”

Ye Haochuan was about to take action, however, just then, another person entered from outside the private room, and upon a careful look, it was a familiar face.

It was none other than Mayor Lin, Lin Xiaoquan. And following him was his male secretary.

”Haochuan, it really is you. I just heard from my secretary Zhang that you were here, and I couldn’t quite believe it,” greeted Mayor Lin with a hearty laugh, then his gaze shifted to Xiao Haimei who had tear streaks on her face, smiling, he said, ”Hey, Miss Xiao, who bullied you? Tell me, I’ll stand up for you.”

Xiao Haimei wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes and greeted, ”Hello, Mayor Lin.”

Lin Xiaoquan nodded, then continued to inquire about the situation.

”This...” Xiao Haimei hesitated.

It was Ye Haochuan who explained everything in detail.

Upon hearing this, Mayor Lin was outraged on the spot, ”What? This really happened? Wang Hongjun, come here! Tell me, did it go down like this?”

Wang Hongjun, who was already pale with fright at his side, immediately despaired, it’s over, it’s all over.
