Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 369: Chapter 368: The Drinking Party

Thinking about this, Ye Haochuan was very displeased. As for Wang Hongjun, he wouldn’t believe it if anyone denied that he was the dregs of the officialdom even if they beat him to death.

At this moment, Xiao Haimei also understood Wang Hongjun’s intention. Her eyebrows knitted with difficulty, she felt very troubled. If she didn’t agree, she was afraid that Director Wang would leave in a huff and not take care of her affairs. Yet if she agreed, she feared that Ye Haochuan would feel discontented and misunderstand her.

”Director Wang, my assistant is not an outsider. Is there any secret that requires him to leave?” Xiao Haimei said with a slight smile.

Wang Hongjun said arrogantly, ”Chairman Xiao, you don’t understand. This secret of mine can’t be heard by just anyone. A mere assistant like him, what qualifications does he have to listen? If you ask me, if it weren’t for saving your face today, what right does your little assistant have to sit at the same table with me?”

Damn, this old guy, nearly one foot in the grave, and still so insolent.

Ye Haochuan was furious inside, thinking that today, if he didn’t teach this old guy a lesson, he didn’t deserve the Ye surname.

However, at this time, Xiao Haimei saw that he was about to explode and quickly held him back, signaling with her eyes for him not to act impulsively.

Ye Haochuan was originally on the edge, but on seeing Xiao Haimei’s pleading look, his heart softened and he thought, well, let this old guy jump around a bit. When he reveals his true colors, I’ll come in and clean up the mess. Then, heh heh...

With that thought, Ye Haochuan said with a smile on his face, ”Alright, since Director Wang has requested it, I’ll step aside.”

After he finished speaking, he secretly patted Xiao Haimei’s hand to reassure her.

Xiao Haimei finally let out a sigh of relief, but still worried that he might harbor resentment, she sent him a tender glance and lightly hooked her finger on his palm, making him smile from ear to ear before she completely let him go.

Once Ye Haochuan had left, Wang Hongjun secretly felt pleased with himself. You brat, so disrespectful of the rules. A little assistant dares to challenge me, a bureau chief?

After escorting Ye Haochuan out, Xiao Haimei then put on a charming smile again and said, ”Director Wang, now you can finally speak, right?”

But at this time, Wang Hongjun started to play bureaucratic tricks again.

Just then, the waiter began to serve the dishes, and Wang Hongjun said with a smile, ”No hurry, no hurry. Let’s eat and drink while we talk...”

This damn old turtle, despicable!

Xiao Haimei knew all too well that Director Wang wanted to take advantage of her at the dinner table, deliberately holding back information, but for the sake of the inspection report, she had to suppress her frustration and said with a sweet laugh, ”Indeed, Director Wang, you’ve been busy with official duties all morning; it’s time for lunch... Oh, Director Wang, this restaurant’s game dishes are quite good. It’s a perfect time to treat yourself.”

Watching the once high and mighty Miss Xiao of the Xiao Family trying to curry favor with him, Wang Hongjun felt extremely pleased with himself. He opened a bottle of Moutai and poured himself a full glass, saying, ”Chairman Xiao, I, Wang Hongjun, was late just now, and for that, I shall drink a penalty cup.”

After saying that, without waiting for Xiao Haimei’s reply, he drank it down.

After emptying the glass, Wang Hongjun smacked his lips and said, ”Chairman Xiao, what do you think? Am I Wang Hongjun not showing good faith?”

Xiao Haimei giggled and said, ”Of course you are showing good faith, and quite a lot of it. Director Wang, you’re truly a man. I, Xiao Haimei, have seen many people, but there are not many as forthright as you, Director Wang.”

After a flurry of flattering, Wang Hongjun felt a bit dizzy, and, taking advantage of his tipsiness, said with a smile, ”Chairman Xiao, don’t be so distant. I’m just a few years older than you. From now on, as long as it’s not in public, just call me Brother Wang, how about that?”

Older than me by a few years? You really know how to cozy up, Old Turtle. Is this ’older than me by a few years’? Clearly, it’s more like twenty years, isn’t it? Shameless!

Xiao Haimei cursed inwardly but had to force a smile and said, ”How could that be? Setting aside the fact that you are the Director, Director Wang, you are my elder. How could I, a junior, dare to be disrespectful in front of my elder?”

With just one delicate sentence, she dismantled Wang Hongjun’s trap, showing that she was no easy target.

A look of surprise appeared on Wang Hongjun’s wrinkled face, as he clearly hadn’t expected such a delicate woman to be so savvy.

Though he was slightly displeased, he thought that if he, as an elder, took some small advantage of this young woman, played her a bit, and engaged in a father-daughter romance, it seemed quite thrilling, and his mood improved.

Breaking into laughter, Wang Hongjun said, ”Since Chairman Xiao has put it that way, then today, I’ll communicate with you properly as an elder...”

When he spoke of ”communicating,” a lewd smile appeared on his face.

He thought Xiao Haimei wouldn’t understand the insinuation in his words, but sadly, he underestimated her.

Having been around Ye Haochuan, the seasoned driver, for so long and often hearing his vulgar and obscene words, Xiao Haimei felt she had become somewhat tainted herself.

So, when she heard Old Turtle Wang mention ”communicating” and saw the lewd expression on his face, she immediately understood that the Old Turtle was seeing her as an object of lust!

”You’re too kind, Director Wang,” responded Xiao Haimei, forcefully suppressing her anger, then picked up some dishes and placed them in his bowl, forcing a smile, ”Since Director Wang is my elder, I, as the junior, must show respect. The food is good, eat it while it’s hot.”

”Very good, very good!” Seeing a beautiful woman serve him food, Wang Hongjun’s face lit up, and he nodded eagerly.

In this manner, the two chatted over food and drink, with Wang Hongjun growing bolder in his speech as the wine took effect, even calling her ”Haimie” directly, while Xiao Haimei did her utmost to go along, displaying exceptional tact and finesse.

After they had drunk their fill, Xiao Haimei felt the timing was almost right and said, ”Director Wang, I really appreciate your strong support for our subsidiary hospital, but our hospital is officially starting operations tomorrow. When can we expect the drug inspection report to come out?”

”The drug inspection report?” Wang Hongjun’s face turned serious, ”Haimie, the confidential matter I wanted to discuss with you actually relates to this drug inspection report. You see, the Upper Level just issued a notice mandating that we strictly enforce the drug testing standards. Those Body-Strengthening Pills and Bone Tempering Pills you submitted, we have never seen nor heard of such things, I am afraid that...”

Hearing his tone, Xiao Haimei understood he was doing this deliberately. She quickly grabbed her handbag, took out a check, and handed it over.

At the same time, she laughed lightly, ”Director Wang, I know that drug inspection must be strictly carried out, but the drugs we’ve developed are no ordinary drugs. They’ve yielded good results in many clinical trials, so I hope you, Director Wang, can make some allowance for the health of our patients.”

However, Wang Hongjun didn’t even glance at the check, just shook his head and chuckled, ”Haimie, you are being too formal. Now that we are in a relationship of elder and junior, do you think I would be the type to be greedy for money?”

”So, what do you mean, Director Wang...” Xiao Haimei was uncertain of his intentions.

”Let’s speak plainly,”

Wang Hongjun said, leaning his corpulent body a little closer to her, and patted her plump, voluptuous thigh, saying with a laugh, ”Haimie, what I mean, don’t you understand yet?”
