Actually, as former assassins, their desire for battle had always been present, but as Earth people entered the era of those with strong Brainwave Power and coupled with advanced war technology, these two lacked significant Brainwave Power Talent and were no longer young. Thus, they couldn’t truly enjoy the feeling of battle anymore, and now that they both had families, their attachment to life and fear of death became even more apparent.

Speaking bluntly, although they were there, they both realized they feared death!

”Major General, we’ve received a signal ahead that the enemy has been spotted!”

While they continued discussing this topic, a report suddenly came through their communicators!

”They’re really coming!”

The Bearded man with graying beard quivered, then quickly rose to his feet.

”I’m heading back to my command battleship, Xiao Yao, I hope we can both survive this, goodbye.”

The two men, who had been comrades for decades, parted ways, with no one knowing whether they would ever meet again.

The might of the opponent was something the entire Earth Fleet understood; almost no one believed this embattled squad would survive for long, and even this ’Jia Family’s Son-in-Law Major General’ stationed at the rear wasn’t guaranteed safety since the enemy wouldn’t care about his identity.

”All ships, follow my orders, hold back your urge to attack, wait until the enemy gets closer.”

”We’ve installed a Signal Jammer, sent back by another distant Earth Fleet, who are our future comrades. The enemy may not detect us immediately, so once they’re close, we’ll execute our largest bombing strategy to eliminate them!”

The communicator then carried the voice of a true human hero. Ten years ago, in the face of an Orchid Empire semi-combat aircraft carrier, he had commanded his battleship and fought valiantly. Although his battleship was nearly destroyed, he never retreated.

Different from before, his prestige was not high at that time, but now, he was the highest-ranking officer of this ambush squad and the General Commander of seven hundred Earth ambush battleships—General Carson!

Just as General Carson had issued the full mobilization order, a secret communication was received by the bespectacled ’Jia Family In-law’.

”Major General, your position is special. If the battle intensifies after some time, I hope you can evacuate first.”

This voice, surprisingly, was General Carson’s, who had just mobilized the entire fleet for battle, now suggesting that the bespectacled former assassin run away.

”Heh, General Carson.” The middle-aged man laughed softly.

”You might not know about my previous profession, so you don’t understand me.”

”You don’t have to say it now. I have faced life and death numerous times, undertaken countless adventures, but never have I genuinely fought for the Earth’s human species. This time, don’t try to persuade me. I hope to truly fight for Earth people, to fight as a member of Jia’s family. It’s an honor for the people from Jia’s family, please don’t see me as a coward, thank you.”

”... Yes, thank you for explaining the spirit of Jia’s family, Major General. Good luck.”

”Good luck.” The bespectacled middle-aged man responded softly.

After closing the communicator, he sat down.

With a huge battle imminent, strangely, he felt no nervousness at all.

The bespectacled middle-aged man found this curious about himself.

”Maybe it’s because I’ve gone through so much before, I’ve come to terms with life and death,” he mocked himself with a smile.

However, for some reason, he took out the communicator and gently pressed a special button in the ultra-long frequency band.

This ultra-long frequency button was for the battleship crew to write last messages. Once complete, the battleship’s special transmitter would send this band towards Earth. Of course, due to limited technological capability, it was uncertain whether Earth would receive it. It was all just a matter of luck.

”Little Lin, this is the first time I’m writing to you. It’s also the first time I’m confessing my true feelings to you.”

”When we first met, I remember it was before the great catastrophe on Earth. At that time, I just thought you were a girl seeking vengeance for your brother, and I even mocked your impulsive actions. But since then, your actions have continuously amazed me. To this day, your impulsive nature has changed a lot, but I know you are still the courageous and bold girl from before. Perhaps... maybe I fell in love with you the first time we met.”

”Dear daughter Qiqi, if you are reading this letter, I might no longer be here. But don’t cry, I’ve never felt that being a member of Jia’s family was anything special. There was even a time when I was disappointed and angered because I was treated differently for being a member of Jia’s family. But this time, I truly feel proud to be a member of Jia’s family. If my death can give Earth people a slight chance to drive out the enemy, then I have no regrets. Daughter, I know I have neglected you, your mother, and your sister in the last few years. I’m really sorry, I love you!”

”Little Ruo Ruo, I regret that I’ve only seen you a few times. Can you talk now? If you grow up and can understand this letter, it probably means that Earth has also gotten past this crisis. Whether it was by repelling the invasion or by being occupied by the Auster Empire, it’s good as long as you can survive. Little Ruo Ruo, I’m sorry, I haven’t held you much, and now, I feel sorry!”

After finishing the lengthy letter, the bespectacled middle-aged man took off his glasses, rubbed his eyes, not sure if it was because his eyes were tired or because he was crying.

”Alright, the battle is about to start. This battleship of mine will signal the Jia’s family! In this war, the people from Jia’s family will be a great moral support for the warriors, and I now understand the reason for the existence of people from Jia’s family.”

”Jia’s family represents Lord Assassin on Earth and embodies the unyielding spirit and the fighting spirit of the Earth people today! As a member of the Jia’s family, and currently the only vigorous man in the Jia family, I will provide warriors with belief and confidence, fighting to the end!”

After writing these words, the middle-aged man with glasses stood up.

He picked up the letter he had handwritten, which now displayed a string of characters on the Smart Brain screen, his fingers trembling slightly as he clicked the ’send’ button.

After clicking the button, he slumped back into his chair as if drained.

”Hehe, why do I always feel like there are endless things to say? Never mind, never mind, let it be like this, as the final glorious image of a father; my wife and daughters should admire me,” he laughed at himself.

”Lord! There’s trouble! That half-battle-class carrier has seen through our signal jammer! It’s charging at us!”

Just as he had relaxed, the communicator transmitted the frightened words of the soldiers.

The middle-aged man with glasses barely shook his fingers.

”I knew it, where would there be such an easy war?” he laughed, then stood from his chair.

Gently adjusting his attire, just like he had done a decade ago, obsessively adjusting his gear before heading into battle. His fighting, the professional instinct of an assassin, was about to burst forth once more!

But this burst would eventually lead to a blossom and then wither... to death.

”Pass my command, let the squadron assemble in battle formation centered around this flagship! At the same time, keep broadcasting the Jia family’s identification signal! Tell all the warriors on the battle line...”

”My Jia Family will forever be with you! The current, only adult male of Jia... will live and die together with you!”

A bright light illuminated the horizon!

It was the glow of an explosion.

At the site of that explosion, a massive battleship, slowly approaching like an indomitable ancient beast, charged towards the Earth battleships whose hiding place had been exposed with an unbelievable speed!

Meanwhile, from its hangar, a continuous stream of battleships, dozens or even hundreds of meters in size, along with large quantities of various types of fighting robots began to spill out.

They covered the sky, instantly reaching nearly ten thousand in number, showing the extensive preparations of this huge battleship.

As for the Earth’s sneak attack fleet, there were only seven hundred in number. Moreover, whether in terms of technological advancement or experience in space warfare, they were far behind the enemy.

Yet, regardless of how outnumbered or technologically outmatched they were, the moment the Jia family member’s signal was continuously sent, the entire fleet seemed to fill with courage in an instant!

The enemy filled the skies, and they counterattacked.

The war had begun!

And, just a few thousand kilometers away from this spot.

A strangely shaped flying craft slowly made its way toward this location.

”Uncle Jiu, is Dad really not in danger? What about the enemy you mentioned, could they come earlier?”

Little Qiqi was at that moment perched on her little stool in the flying cabin, eating ice cream. The little girl loved this trip since Jia Yan didn’t care how much ice cream she ate and also because she could see the real universe. For her, staying with Uncle was like living a life cherished by her elders but also relishing many extraordinary sights.

But upon hearing Jia Yan’s description of the situation ahead, she still felt somewhat worried.

”No, Uncle Jiu calculated it. The enemy won’t arrive until a day later at the fastest. We’ll reach there today. With Uncle here, even if that bastard, your dad, wants to die, I can bring him back to life.”

Jia Yan was on one side of the living quarters, operating the equipment inside. After all, someone needed to operate these living space devices.

”Huh?” Just then, Jia Yan suddenly saw a public message received in the living quarters’ equipment.

”What’s wrong, Uncle Jiu?” The little girl, seeing Jia Yan look slightly flustered, hopped over.

”It’s... a last will and testament?!”
