Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1123: Chapter 4 What Went Wrong! [2 Updates Completed]

Two million kilometers from the circumference of Burning Star, a battleship stationed so close yet undetected remained in place.

The outline of the vessel was indiscernible, shrouded entirely in a curtain of mist, its massive form hid within, leaving no trace visible.

The effect of the mist seemed to render the battleship invisible, avoiding detection by the planetary systems this close to Burning Star—how long it had been there, undetected, was anyone’s guess.

”It appears that Jia Yan is about to perform this so-called ’cloning operation’. I’ve heard many Strong Ones are reluctant to create avatars due to the permanent damage it does to their bodies, not to mention the lengthy period of weakness that follows. It’s during this period that many Strong Ones are caught and killed by their enemies. When Jia Yan does this, that will be my best opportunity!”

Within the battleship, enshrouded by mist, a creature performed a rhythmic inhale and exhale of fog within the control cabin.

On the operational screen of the ship, basic data from Burning Star flickered. How this creature came to know of Jia Yan’s plans to undertake the cloning operation was a mystery.

The battleship began to move slowly.

Meanwhile, below on Burning Star, the people, unaware that an existence perhaps more terrifying than Jia Yan might be imminent, continued their lives as usual.

It had been nearly two months under Giant Mosquito Fleet rule. The folks on Burning Star noticed little change in their lives under this reign. In fact, the presence of Princess Kama even strengthened their sense of belonging. For the inhabitants of Burning Star, it made no difference who ruled them.

At this moment, the Giant Mosquito Fleet had few troops stationed on Burning Star, with the High-level Expert Jia Yan in charge. Princess Kama must have felt quite secure.

”What’s that? How could a battleship appear so close? Send out the alert immediately!” Upon the sudden appearance of the Warrior Warship, the detection system of Burning Star noticed its trail.

Alarms blared instantly.

At the same time, in that research facility, Jia Yan was finalizing his preparations.

News was a bit delayed, and Jia Yan had not yet received the alert. Even if he had, to lure this enemy, he might still proceed with the cloning operation.

The massive container for the avatar had been drained of its liquid, and now, a humanoid form had been placed inside a machine.

Observing the body around 1.76 meters tall, Jia Yan nodded thoughtfully, then carefully approached it with his broad physique.

”Lord, you just need to transfer the Brainwave Power into this device,” the white-haired elder informed Jia Yan.

Jia Yan glanced at the device connected to the top of the avatar’s head as pointed out by the elder, then nodded and unleashed his power!

He harbored no doubts, impatience growing after nearly two months of waiting.

Zzzt, zzzt, zzzt...

The sound of electricity emanated from the Device.

Jia Yan felt his power being drawn from within him into the device, absorbed eagerly; its capacity clearly insufficient to withstand his Power. He could easily overload it if he pushed too hard, so he carefully moderated his strength.

This transfer proceeded at an agonizingly slow pace. Jia Yan cast a worried gaze toward the sky, his senses alerting him that an unwelcome guest had arrived!

Yet Jia Yan could not afford to be distracted. The crafting of the avatar remained his priority.

”Lord, just three more minutes and it will be complete. Hold on,” the elder encouraged, mistaking Jia Yan’s strength as being overwhelmed by the suction of the machine.

What he didn’t realize was Jia Yan’s Strength still had some reserve, far from being drained by the machine as he thought.

Many Strong Ones had halted the transfer abruptly or even destroyed the machine due to its bizarre power, fearing the same from Jia Yan.

Fortunately, Jia Yan did not do so.

”Jia Yan, the suction of this machine is just as I expected. You can transfer your power completely and still have a considerable amount left to contend with the incoming foe,” Light Shadow Object confidently spoke within Jia Yan’s form.

Jia Yan silently agreed, yet before his thoughts could wander further, a sudden shock gripped him!

Above the research facility, a massive Battleship was slowly making its approach, looming through the thick clouds!

”What should I do?” Jia Yan thought gravely. With just a minute and a half left to complete the transfer, halting now could mean not just failure, but possible damage to the painstakingly crafted avatar and the machine.

The timing of the adversary was impeccable, worthy of a Secondary Powerhouse.

”Lord, we shall engage the enemy first!”

As Jia Yan wavered, the voice of another existence reached him offering to confront the threat.

He paused slightly, and then saw countless battleships directly ascending from beneath the scorched earth of Burning Star.

The antiaircraft fire on the ground also covered and shot out, seemingly not a bit inferior to the defense level that Jia Yan had faced when he initially attacked Burning Star.

Boom Boom Boom Boom!!

Countless artillery fire roared out from the ground, and the arriving battleships above had almost no chance to react before they were brutally hit.

Of course, things couldn’t be that simple. The opponent was a Secondary Level powerhouse!

The smoke wrapping around that battleship seemed extraordinarily strange; beams shot into it dissipated instantly, as if they were unable to inflict any normal damage whatsoever.

And the battleships rising from below, with their main guns firing at this battleship, were similarly unable to harm it at all.

”Hmph, mere ants!” An icy snort resounded from the battleship, and then a terrifyingly powerful Brainwave Power directly took control of the environment, as if it wanted to seize control of the entire planet.

And the targets of this Brainwave Power were the battleships that were attacking it, even the ordinary beings at the ground command posts were within its effect.

Under normal circumstances, this being could destroy Burning Star just as easily as Jia Yan did, perhaps even more easily.

Because he was a Secondary Powerhouse!

At this moment, as the Brainwave Power was deployed, the entire land shook subtly.

”Jia Yan, I’ve waited so long for this opportunity, the first time to catch you when you might not be able to traverse space, you can’t escape!” The Fog monster laughed triumphantly, as the Brainwave Power surged viciously towards the battleship, command post, and other military facilities below.

”I can’t escape? You’ve got something wrong, I’ve finally drawn you out!”

Just as the members of the Giant Mosquito Fleet and the Burning Star powerhouses who had sided with them felt their bodies immobilized, nearly facing death, the voice of Jia Yan also rose from beneath the ground, like an unyielding mountain, thunderously spreading.

With the transmission of his voice, it seemed as if the wildness of the world was smoothed over by an invisible giant hand; the sky remained unchanged, the earth unchanged, and those experts and crew members of the battleships were still regular members. The previous oppression by the Brainwave Power, the nearly fatal experience, seemed as if it had never happened.

”Uh!?” The being in the sky appeared extremely shocked.

Where Jia Yan’s Brainwave Power passed, his Brainwave Power was smoothed out, and afterwards, everything returned to normal.

”This, this!” Not only was the being shocked, but even the Star Space Level experts on the ground, who knew what they were seeing, were equally astounded. These experts were mostly from Burning Star’s native Star Space Level or had joined from elsewhere, with most of their strength at Early Stars.

When this being launched his attack, they had been thinking of showing off in front of Jia Yan. After all, in the Country of Taia, Jia Yan’s existence was virtually invincible. And if things went as expected, Taia might well have been truly conquered by the Giant Mosquito Fleet. So, they wanted to brown-nose this great existence, but unexpectedly, as they launched their attacks, they realized that the attacker was an incredibly terrifying being!

With merely the release of his Brainwave Power, he nearly suppressed the entire world. They didn’t know how powerful this existence was, but understood that it definitely was not just any Dignitary, and it might not even be a Dignitary, but an even higher being!

A Secondary Powerhouse? Upon thinking of this, the Star Space Level experts regretted their actions. Had they known a Secondary Level powerhouse was involved, they would never have aided Jia Yan.

But just as they despaired, the Mosquito Jia Yan, whom they resented, also deployed his Brainwave Power...

It was a kind of power that made them even more incredulous.

Jia Yan, merely a High-level Expert, actually used an opposing Brainwave Power to face off directly against the incoming Secondary Powerhouse in a clash of Brainwave Powers!

What shocked them even more was that this Brainwave Power truly matched the Secondary Powerhouse’s, with neither gaining the upper hand!

”How is this possible? You... you’ve actually taken that step!” In the sky above the world, that supremely great Secondary Powerhouse being, within a smokescreen covering thousands of kilometers, uttered an unbelieving cry of shock.

At this moment, the being within the battleship’s smoke couldn’t believe it.

Not considering that he hadn’t used his full strength in the previous Brainwave Power, it shouldn’t be something a High-level Expert like Jia Yan could resist.

But the other party not only resisted, but he seemed to do so with ease, completely beyond his expectations.

This couldn’t be something a High-level Expert could accomplish.

It was...

A Dignitary!?

Jia Yan had actually taken that step!?

”But the intelligence I received said that he had been promoted to a High-level Expert for no more than a mere year or so, right? Impossible...” The Secondary Powerhouse was stunned by the meteoric rise in Jia Yan’s strength.
