Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1121: Chapter 2 It’s Tough for Humans [Two Updates Completed]

”Lord Jia Yan, this is the ultra-long-distance space teleportation device we have developed. It was once tested by teleporting a large building to the edge of the Northern Star Domain. It was rated as one of the top ten scientific achievements in the Northern Star Domain that could change future life.”

In a bizarre and huge building, a lady from the Bella clan introduced the device beside her to Jia Yan and others.

At this moment, among the group including Big Mosquito, Kama and others had already left due to government affairs. After all, the things Jia Yan was thinking about didn’t have much benefit for them, and it seemed that Jia Yan was planning to leave the Northern Star Domain, which was something they found hard to accept.

”Oh, I don’t understand the intricacies,” he said. ”I heard your facility works by distorting space for ultra-long-distance teleportation? I don’t quite understand the principles of space, but as a being proficient in space, I think it’s not that easy to distort space. Can your device really achieve ultra-long-distance teleportation? After all, distorting space must require a great deal of power, right?”

Jia Yan had now arrived at the site five thousand kilometers away he had mentioned before, where there was another research institution very similar to the previous one, and its head didn’t have much resistance to Jia Yan’s visit.

Jia Yan did not beat around the bush but inquired directly from the woman in front of him, who was the leader of this Space Research Institute.

”Lord Jia Yan, what you may not know is that distorting space is the future mainstream of interstellar travel. The method of space distortion I developed goes even beyond this mainstream. It’s just that this teleportation is one-way; its principle isn’t about distorting space as you might think, but rather it involves more complex calculations and manipulations through natural small holes in space.” The woman revealed directly the principle behind her research.

For these scientists, simple things were understood by all, yet developing tangible results was not so straightforward.

Jia Yan then reflected on her words carefully before asking seriously, ”So I ask you, can this device allow an object to travel over many thousands of light-years?”

”Many thousands of light-years? There... really is no precedent, and with such a distance, only a rough calculation of the space distortion tunnel is possible. I can’t guarantee the accuracy of the teleportation destination. What’s more, the energy required would be astronomically large.” The woman estimated thoughtfully, then conveyed the precise difficulties to Jia Yan.

She hadn’t outright said it was impossible, which was the answer Jia Yan wanted.

”Inaccuracy in arrival points, tell me exactly how inaccurate it can be, and then there’s the resource issue. I don’t know how much you need? If it’s not a horrific amount, I’ll find a way.”

”Ah! Lord, do you really want to perform such teleportation? There are huge limitations not just on calculations—affecting the size of the teleported object and the amount of energy carried. If you really want to proceed with such a teleportation, I hope to establish a special research group. Then you propose specific requirements, and we handle the calculations and arrangements.”

The woman seemed somewhat intrigued by Jia Yan’s propositions, as a teleportation of this kind would represent an unprecedented feat within the Northern Star Domain. If they succeeded, it would indeed be a significant mark in the annals of scientific history.

After a great victory by Jia Yan, the two research institutions launched at full scale. Compared to the excitement and anticipation Jia Yan felt, the top echelons of the Giant Mosquito Fleet were less comfortable at this moment.

They were too tightly dependent on Jia Yan, and no one had considered what the Giant Mosquito Fleet would do if Jia Yan decided to leave the Northern Star Domain.

”Kama, rest assured, it is not my intention to truly leave this place. Even if I want to return to my homeland, it wouldn’t be with my true body. You continue your campaigns, but not just yet. I will stay here to wait for the outcomes from those two institutions.”

When Kama and others expressed some worries about Jia Yan, one day, Jia Yan suddenly stepped out of the research institute and said these comforting words to Kama before returning to the institute to proceed with their work.

Just a brief sentence shuddered the top echelons of the Giant Mosquito Fleet, casting away their prior worries, and they resumed their operations for conquering the Country of Taia.

In fact, Jia Yan knew that the kind of teleportation that could directly return him to Earth was impossible, as he had learned from the Light Shadow Monster long before he spoke these reassuring words to them.

”Lord, are you sure you want the avatar to be just about five feet nine inches tall, resembling someone from the Bella clan?”

In the Avatar Research Institute, the Einstein-looking being found Jia Yan’s request rather peculiar.

”Yes, but you must ask the other institute for the data on spatial fluctuations. The strength of the body must be able to resist the waves of space during transmission. If it can’t, then continue to increase the body’s density. Of course, if it can bear an even greater power of mine, that would be even better,” Lord Jia Yan said.

”Okay, but with a body of this size, enhancing its strength requires careful planning,” the scientist told Jia Yan somewhat helplessly. After all, the larger the body, the greater the power it can wield—a principle hard to break. Yet Jia Yan’s request stood firm, coupled with the constraints of the space research institute. Transporting too large of an object too far was impossible, so they had to cooperate.

Fortunately, at the Avatar Research Institute, the technology was perfected, having previously helped many Strong Ones create avatars, including those from the Desolate Star System who paid to create avatars on the capital star of the Taia Nation, despite the Burning Star’s equipment being slightly inferior. However, the original developer was right here, so the final product was almost as good.

The other side faced more difficulties.

Ultra-long-distance space transmission technology in this star domain was still a developing and hypothetical technology. Especially the challenges associated with ultra-long-distance transmissions were hard for the research institute at this moment.

What amazed the researchers was that Jia Yan, who seemed to have no scientific knowledge, had brought them substantial research data that helped them break through existing barriers!

Naturally, Jia Yan wouldn’t mention that this technology came from the Light Shadow Monsters. At this moment, he seemed mysterious to those researchers. Especially with the data comparison between the two institutes, knowing the destination of Jia Yan’s transmission—a remote ten thousand light years away—gave rise to speculations about his origins. Moreover, they suspected that the area known as ’Orion Arm,’ referred to by the lord as some unknown place, felt like a civilization where both technology and the Strong Ones profoundly thrived.

Of course, people shouldn’t destroy hope, and Jia Yan would not tell them that the Orion Arm was regarded as barren by the civilizations and Strong Ones here. Perhaps even the entire power of the Desolate Star System could sweep through the Orion Arm.

After crafting a false impression of an ’extremely civilized place,’ Jia Yan continued to guide and supervise the two research institutes.

Meanwhile, the Giant Mosquito Fleet did not cease their attacks on the Taiya Star Domain amidst these events. After all, once the machinery of war had started, it was not so simple to stop.

Thanks to their mobility and some unexpected characteristics at the beginning of the war, the Giant Mosquito Fleet’s offensive was incredibly smooth!

Kama and Findley’s identities also played a tremendous role during this time. Some of the local populations in the occupied areas even helped the Giant Mosquito Fleet in their attacks, with some civilians spontaneously forming militia squads, leading to greater victories for the Giant Mosquito Fleet.

During this period, countless heroic and touching stories unfolded, with spies engaging in sabotage and valiant combat, turning these stories almost into numerous Outer Star war films.

In the blink of an eye, the conflict had reached its middle phase. The Giant Mosquito Fleet, an Outsider fleet, had been advancing non-stop for a month throughout the Taiya Star Domain.

In this one month, using Kama’s identity, the Giant Mosquito Fleet had secured ten medium to large celestial bodies, firmly establishing their footing.

Now, the conflict had evolved into a war of positions, with many in the Taiya Nation feeling helpless against the Giant Mosquito Fleet.

Countless forces around condemned the inhumane attack tactics of the Giant Mosquito Fleet, yet they took no action. For them, this was merely a repeat of what had occurred three years ago. Some emissaries were also secretly visiting the territories secured by the Giant Mosquito Fleet, engaging in exchanges of interests and agreements.

Of course, Jia Yan only moderately followed the current combat situation before gradually disengaging from it.

With materials from ten medium to large celestial bodies, the research work here on Burning Star progressed extremely rapidly—in just a month, it neared the practical usage stage.

”Lord, your avatar is now at the final stage of solidification, but are you sure about this appearance? It seems a bit different from our Bella clan...” one day, just after Jia Yan had left the Space Research Institute, an old man resembling Einstein brought good news through a communicator.

”Hmm? It’s about to be successfully created?” Jia Yan was first delighted, then calmly told the old man, ”Just keep the appearance as it is; I didn’t create the avatar to match your Bella clan’s design. Just go ahead; the appearance is fine—you just make sure the energy load doesn’t fail.”

Compared to appearance, Jia Yan valued the avatar’s energy capacity much more.

”Don’t worry, Lord. Avatar technology is quite mature in our nation now. With the help of abundant materials from you, this development will absolutely meet your requirements,” the elderly man replied to Jia Yan’s skepticism, a touch annoyed.
