Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1103: Chapter 34 Who Admits Defeat?! [Second Update]

”Whether he is or isn’t, you’ll understand soon enough. The existence of that race is indeed one of exceptional combat power. During battle, they emit a deep blue color. Although this Jia Yan differs somewhat from the legendary race in question, the resemblance in his display is still there. If he really is one of that race, then victory in this battle is undoubtedly his!”

”Sacred Powerhouses, the Sacred Race! In this vast region, they epitomize overcoming higher-level enemies; their talent is just that terrifying!”

The Tree Monster spoke with some emotion.

”The Sacred Race?” Upon hearing this voice, the inquiring Monster shuddered. He too was of the Star Space Level, but the mention of the Sacred Powerhouse title instantly filled him with awe.

Sacred Powerhouses—their species was renowned even amongst the staff of the Northern Star Region Branch of the Mercenary Organization; their strength was to a degree that was unfathomably formidable.

However, regardless of how the conversation went on this side, it couldn’t affect the battle on that side!

”Jia Yan, you have two choices: one is to slowly fight him and then defeat him with a certain move; the other is to quickly defeat him, making all these creatures believe that you indeed belong to the Sacred Race. As far as I know, the Sacred Powerhouses in this Starfield can almost invariably defeat creatures of the same level within ten moves,” the Moth Monster, while attacking, conveyed to Jia Yan through Brainwave Power.

He was very confident in Jia Yan but felt that Jia Yan could use a single strike to defeat this Moth Monster. Given the opponent’s status as a top entity among the High-space Level, there were thus two choices: one was to intentionally withstand a few hits, then use a move to defeat the opponent once their strength waned. The other was to go for a head-on attack and take fewer than ten moves to win.

As for the possibility of losing—that was out of the question!

”I’ll choose the first then; defeating him in one move has more of a shocking effect!” Jia Yan made his decision in an instant.

And at the same time, the Moth Monster struck!

Its antennae pierced viciously toward Jia Yan with even greater speed than before, the terrifyingly sharp tips capable of easily piercing through the armor of a Battleship.

Jia Yan seemed not to react until a split second before the near-contact moment, when he finally twisted his body!

A terrifying blast of energy shook, and a dreadful force that would make even Heaven-level existences shiver emerged in the center of the platform.

Although Jia Yan hadn’t been hit by the strike, he appeared to stagger back several steps in a seemingly disheveled retreat.

”Ha-ha, Jia Yan, I see you’re nothing special after all, you country bumpkin, thinking you can fight me!” The Moth Monster truly seemed to despise Jia Yan, his eyes gleaming with the excitement of having the battle within his grasp. He didn’t wait for Jia Yan to steady himself before pouncing again.

”Within ten moves, you’ll be undoubtedly defeated!” bellowed the Moth Monster.

”Oh? Ten moves and I’m beaten? See if you can make good on that,” Jia Yan replied with a slight smile, simultaneously emitting a Brainwave Power fluctuation. In a dire situation, he effortlessly redirected the opponent’s attack.

Again, Jia Yan appeared to evade clumsily.

”Still dodging? Don’t you dare face me head-on, you coward!” The Moth Monster, looking at the figure of Jia Yan, spoke furiously.

”I don’t need your advice on my fighting methods. Didn’t you say you could defeat me within ten moves? Come on, then.”

Jia Yan stood firm a hundred meters away from the Moth Monster and once again spoke dismissively.

Although he was the one evading and appeared somewhat disheveled, his tone suggested he had the upper hand, which infuriated the young Moth Monster even more, prompting him to roar out loud.

”Seeking death!”

He charged again.

This time, the Moth Monster used a frontal limb attack very similar to Jia Yan’s, but he only had four limbs, and the power in his limbs didn’t seem to come close to Jia Yan’s; so the strike wasn’t particularly forceful. Instead, it was the antennae’s attack that followed which was the real killer move!

As Jia Yan dodged the limb, one of the antennae targeted his head at the same instant!

The strike was lightning-fast, incredibly swift.

To the Moth Monster’s frustration, Jia Yan, looking disarrayed, once again dodged this highly stealthy chain attack.

”You won’t dodge the next strike!” The Moth Monster, still oblivious to Jia Yan’s actual strength, attributed his success to mere luck and felt quite uncomfortable about it.

It was all just luck. This so-called Giant Mosquito race certainly lacked real strength and were weaklings!

He, the Moth Monster, was a being truly capable of defeating enemies above his level. How could this Jia Yan possibly be stronger than he was?

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Moth Monster attacked relentlessly, with each move fiercer and more ferocious than the last.

On the elevator platform, beams of light began to emerge all around. Not just here, but the walls and floors of the entire floor were lit up with brightness.

This was an extremely famous and costly defensive energy of the Northern Star Domain, and probably only this Mercenary Organization could afford to use it so extravagantly in an ordinary building. The cost of these defense devices alone exceeded that of an entire building.

”It seems that this Jia Yan’s strength is still a bit weak, although he can withstand around ten moves in front of Bikan, that’s about as far as he goes.”

Atop the elevator, one of the watching Monsters said with some emotion, ”Indeed, Bikan’s strength is of an overwhelming tier among the young Monsters, truly too powerful!”

Beside it, the Tree Monster did not speak, but looked down at the battle below, its eyes bulging ever larger behind the leaf-like scales.

”How could this be... His strength is actually of this caliber, how can it be...”

The Tree Monster trembled almost uncontrollably.

The Monster beside it shook its head somewhat helplessly and said, ”Yes, who would have thought that Bikan of the Moth Monster species would have reached this level? Lord, I doubt even your strength is assured to surpass his now, but luckily we have so many people here, that even if he goes mad, he can be stopped.”

”What do you know? I’m not talking about that arrogant fool Bikan! I’m talking about Jia Yan! He hasn’t used his real strength up until now, can’t you see?”

One reprimand from the Tree Monster left several of the Mercenary Organization’s Star Space Level staff somewhat astonished.

”What? You’re talking about Jia Yan? His strength doesn’t seem any different; he’s just been fleeing under Bikan’s hands, could it be... he really has hidden strength!”

”Ten moves! In about ten moves we’ll see the outcome. This Jia Yan, he’s terrifying! His strike has been brewing all this time, and once he lets it out, Bikan will undoubtedly be defeated!” The Tree Monster incredulously looked down at Jia Yan fighting below. Being the closest in strength to the two combatants in the fight, it had a grasp of the situation that even exceeded that of the Moth Monster, not to mention its age and battle experience, which far surpassed the Moth Monster by who knows how much.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Strike after strike attacked, with the Moth Monster continuously assaulting Jia Yan, each time feeling sure he would land a hit. But Jia Yan managed to evade, barely, every single time.

”The tenth move is here, this move will take your life, Jia Yan!” The Moth Monster could no longer bear it, his ten moves had been completely evaded by Jia Yan. Before the battle, he had boasted that he would defeat Jia Yan within ten moves, but if he failed, where would that leave the pride of being the strongest young fighter?

When the battle reached the tenth move, the Monster no longer cared about sparing Jia Yan’s life. At this moment, his energy fully and completely converged, intent on killing Jia Yan in a single strike!

Under this move, the Moth Monster even felt that the strong defenses of the floor might be shattered by his one strike. But he didn’t care; what he wanted was the Mercenary Organization’s high regard for himself. If he could gain favor among the upper ranks, all the better!

And just as he made this strike, a flicker of sharp light appeared within Jia Yan’s Compound Eyes.

The Moth Monster seemed ready to unleash his strongest strike yet, but he understood that his own strength had been greatly depleted in those ten moves. To Jia Yan, even though the Moth Monster was preparing to unleash the mightiest strike in history, his physical condition had declined. Aside from his attacks, his defense and speed had dropped significantly.

And under this move, Jia Yan was about to counterattack. The one who was to be defeated in ten moves was not Jia Yan, but the Moth Monster!

Both sides were on a knife-edge, waiting only for the instant of battle to pass before victory and defeat were decided.

”Wait! We concede!”

And at that moment, the Tree Monster actually roared out loud, shocking both fighters on the spot.

Even the strong Monster fighters of the Mercenary Organization were astonished by this Monster’s cry.

He said we concede? Which side is he speaking for? By the looks of it, could it be that the Moth Monster Bikan is admitting defeat?

Impossible. Bikan’s battle is at its most powerful moment, with the next strike he might establish victory—why would he need to concede?

Could it be that in his haste, he misspoke, and actually, he was conceding on behalf of Jia Yan to Bikan?

Right, Jia Yan is in dire straits. If he truly hails from a Sacred Powerhouse species, then they cannot afford an accident with him. Otherwise, if the Sacred Species were to seek retribution, it would be quite a troublesome matter.

”Ha ha, Jia Yan, so you concede, huh? Consider yourself lucky!”

Hearing the Tree Monster’s shout, the Moth Monster reluctantly reined in his energy, looking at Jia Yan who was about to be struck and bursting out with gleeful laughter.

After today, he would still be the most powerful existence among the young creatures of the Northern Star Domain, and today was also a test for him to join the upper echelons of the Mercenary Union. By defeating Jia Yan, it would mean a high-status inclusion within the Northern Star Region of the Mercenary Union, where both his strength and influence would become exceedingly substantial throughout the Northern Star Domain.

In that moment, Jia Yan, after a slight shock, did not bother with the jeering Moth Monster but directed his gaze at the Tree Monster.

Forehead forward, the Moth Monster’s foreleg was poised there, as if with just a push, it could pierce through Jia Yan’s skull, causing his death.

But held back by the Tree Monster’s shout, Jia Yan’s life seemed to be saved by that one cry.
