Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1118: Chapter 49 Burning Star [First Update]

Boom, boom, boom!

Bursts of fierce light pierced through the heavens and the earth, bombarding the fleet in front, reducing it to ruins.

”We can’t hold on, quickly report back to the headquarters on Taya Star, we can’t hold on.”

An officer in the attacked fleet couldn’t help but express his helplessness.

”Originally, confronting the Giant Mosquito Fleet wasn’t my idea, and now we indeed can’t match their strength. Let it be, announce it, we surrender.”

Not long after, the entire fleet of about five hundred battleships surrendered outright.

In the starry sky, warfare is not so simple, and in the habitable zones, both fleets are unable to employ certain special combat methods, so determining the winner happens swiftly.

If the war had taken place in an empty area, it wouldn’t have been so simple.

The fleets battling in the starry sky were none other than the Giant Mosquito Fleet and the current fleet of the Country of Taia.

Among the Giant Mosquito Fleet, Jia Yan was observing Kama’s operations.

”It seems commanding space battles really isn’t my forte; I’ve watched for so long yet still can’t get used to command. However, with my current strength, ordinary fleets pose no threat to me; I better just stick to my path as one of the Strong Ones.”

Jia Yan shook his head, previously thinking that after being reborn his mind had sharpened, wanting to learn how to command battleships, but now it seemed that was just a wishful thinking.

Even without using the Overwhelming Tactics, Kama’s command had an incredibly perfect intuition. Even in a head-to-head confrontation, she was no worse than the original Marshal Findley of Taia. What she lacked were only the details; in a direct confrontation, she might not necessarily lose to Findley.

Soon, the results of this large-scale group confrontation battle were laid out before Jia Yan.

As a fleet that had traveled from afar, the Giant Mosquito Fleet inevitably suffered casualties in this battle. Against the opponent’s five hundred warships, the nearly thousand-strong Giant Mosquito Fleet had unexpectedly lost about twenty warships.

Kama’s command skills in this battle were quite well demonstrated, but the war was now between forces and without Jia Yan participating or Kama using the Overwhelming Tactics, this victory was hard-earned.

Fortunately, most of the twenty or so warships were not directly destroyed but mainly sustained various degrees of damage, repairable, and most importantly, there were no casualties among the crew.

”Lord, the enemy clearly didn’t anticipate that we would strike here first. This is the last defense of the research planet, and some of them even surrendered. It looks like we’ve even gained some manpower,” Kama said to Jia Yan.

Today Jia Yan personally observed her command, which put some pressure on Kama. Fortunately, nothing went wrong during the battle.

Of course, Jia Yan wasn’t actually interested in learning Kama’s tactics, nor was he trying to supervise her; instead, he was immensely looking forward to the outcome of today’s battle.

Fortunately, the battle went smoothly.

”Great! Kama, can we go down to this planet now?” Jia Yan stood up, seemingly impatient.

Seeing Jia Yan’s demeanor, Kama realized that his supervising today wasn’t out of a real interest in warfare, and felt somewhat helpless.

”No, Lord, the defenses on this planet are incredibly strong. Normally, we would need some time for a siege. Our ground troops aren’t fully ready yet; I was just about to deploy drones,” Kama explained.

”A siege? No need, I’ll go.”

Jia Yan, hearing there was still so much to deal with, couldn’t help but shake his head impatiently.

Then, disregarding whatever Kama was saying, he stood up.

As for his own current strength, Jia Yan himself found it hard to grasp just how capable he was; for a secondary planet with weak defenses, he believed his strength alone was sufficient to handle it.

Soon, a massive figure soared downward.

In the starry sky, the creatures of the entire celestial body watched the flares overhead in horror. For the lifeforms on this planet, such a sight had occurred once before, and yet, merely three years later, a similar scene had unfolded once again.

This was a scientific research planet, which, at its peak, had handled more than half of Taia Star’s research projects. However, during the war three years ago, the research infrastructures on this planet had suffered a lethal blow. Although the warring factions had tried their best to avoid damaging the researchers and equipment, this did not stop the loss and escape of the researchers.

Even after three years of recovery, the once highly advanced research institutions had not come close to regaining their peak research capabilities.

Of course, this entire planet wasn’t exclusively made up of research facilities, only about ten percent of the population was involved in research-related work, while the remaining ninety percent comprised regular industries. Moreover, although this planet was officially considered a secondary celestial body, its actual land area was even larger than that of Earth due to its smaller ocean area!

The planet was named ’Burning Star’ because when it was discovered, it was merely a volcanic world. After many years of reconstruction, it had gradually become habitable.

The citizens of Burning Star, witnessing the war scenes visible to the naked eye in space, shook their heads in helpless agony. The warfare that engulfed the planet three years ago had made life miserable for its inhabitants. They still remembered the Tian Wu soldiers entering the planet to plunder and kill. Now that Princess Kama had returned, were they about to experience similar atrocities?

To be honest, although over ninety percent of the population on the planet belonged to the Bella tribe, they held no particular affection for the old royal family. They supported whichever royal family could enable a better life for the people. Initially, this place was somewhat distant from the metropolitan stars, already somewhat distant from Taia Star, so the loyalty to the royal family wasn’t strong. At this moment, everyone just hoped the war wouldn’t spread.

What they hadn’t expected was that the attacking Giant Mosquito Fleet would not use conventional tactics. Instead, a solitary monster had, under the attentive gaze of many, made a direct incursion into the celestial body.

The media on Burning Star had been broadcasting around the clock. After all, there was no secrecy about the movements of the Giant Mosquito Fleet. Detecting an enemy fleet a few days in advance did nothing for the war situation because moving a fleet wasn’t simple.

And the media, which had been reporting for several days, now observed with some monitoring systems as the Giant Mosquito Fleet won the war in the airspace above but didn’t deploy ground forces. Instead, a monster flew out from the fleet...

”Is that... Jia Yan!? My god, the highest officer of the Giant Mosquito Fleet, and their strongest, Jia Yan, is coming down to our planet alone. Does he intend to attack our planet by himself?”

The hosts in the media were utterly astonished. Strong biological beings hadn’t reached a terrifyingly unstoppable degree; technological weapons still had some impact on them. Some Strong Ones could even be killed by technological weapons. Moreover, although Burning Star had been through warfare, it remained a scientific research planet. Three years of preparations had provided it once again with formidable defense weapons. Wasn’t Jia Yan’s descent extremely dangerous?

It wasn’t that the media on the planet thought Jia Yan was easy to deal with. Even they believed Jia Yan alone could defeat most of the defenses on the celestial body, but this was still overly risky for someone in charge of a fleet!

What they didn’t know was that the high command of the Giant Mosquito Fleet was also helpless. Jia Yan was an individualistic existence; for this fleet, whatever Jia Yan wanted to do, they could only try to persuade him otherwise, without any real power to stop him.

”Hmph, stellar defenses?”

As Jia Yan descended, horrified flares started appearing on the surface of Burning Star. Then, a spark of precision flashed through his Compound Eyes.

Burning Star, with its land area even more vast than Earth’s, displayed bursts of beautiful lights from various locations across the planet, viewed from high above.

Space Travel!

Jia Yan was not dull enough to forcefully confront the planet’s defenses. At this moment, he immediately employed the tactic of Space Travel.

Previously, under the guidance of the Light Shadow Monster, Jia Yan had found it difficult to use this maneuver within a celestial body. Like the time he escaped the Smoke Monster, although he managed it, it was extremely perilous and consumptive.

But using it again now felt as smooth and fluid as flowing clouds.

Suddenly!

Jia Yan, approaching from fifty kilometers above the planet’s surface, instantly vanished.

Then, he reappeared at forty kilometers.

Do not underestimate this ten-kilometer advancement. Considering he was rapidly entering into the celestial body, these were ten kilometers of challenging control. The entire figure advancing ten kilometers was not only about evading the saturated radiant attacks; it was a revolutionary change in Jia Yan’s mastery over space.

Had it been before, he would have absolutely been unable to perform such a precise maneuver within space.

”How is that possible?”

The defensive structures below were aware of Jia Yan’s similar capabilities, but regarding the Strong Ones’ spatial ability, these beings understood that Jia Yan’s comprehension of space was based on the insight into True Energy. To go further, one needed to further their insight into True Energy. However, Jia Yan’s previously somewhat immature True Energy, now had allowed him to perform such fearfully precise spatial operations?

One defense expert after another on Burning Star felt a sense of foreboding. They had a premonition that they could not stop Jia Yan today!
