Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1117: Chapter 48 Divide the Troops [Second Update]

In space, over a thousand battleships glimmered with beams of attacking lights.

The opposing fleet of more than two hundred battleships seemed unprepared and their maneuvers and personnel were conspicuously disorganized. Given the vast disparity in numbers and command, they lacked any viable resistance.

”Lord, the enemy has sent a communication of surrender!”

”Good! We accept the surrender and at the same time, tally our losses.”

Upon acquiring the Giant Mosquito Fleet from the fugitive soldiers of Dragon Bell Star Tia Country, their combat power had significantly increased. This battle did not even need to employ Kama’s Overwhelming Yu Tactics and yet, they emerged cleanly victorious. Jia Yan, inside a camp-level spaceship, even pulled out the video of the battle and watched in amazement.

The entire fleet had, in this battle, adopted more rational tactics and layout than before, which evidently showed how Findley’s arrival had greatly assisted Kama.

And while battling those two hundred plus battleships, the fleet had not suffered too much damage. The final data reported to Jia Yan showed only five battleships had different extents of damage and none were beyond use.

The victory came without any damage on their part, marking a significant triumph.

The reaction from Tia Country was as expected; they accused the Giant Mosquito Fleet of inhumanity in the media, attacking their fleet merely minutes after declaring war, specifically targeting ships that were not yet commissioned into service, which was utterly shameful.

However, their attitude did not dampen the celebration among the Giant Mosquito Fleet. This was their first engagement with Tia Country. Although it bore suspicions of ambush and taking advantage of others’ vulnerabilities, many of the original fugitive soldiers from Tia stated that the Tian Wu clan had originally conquered Tia Country in the same manner. They reasoned it as just treating their adversaries with their own methods.

There must be considerable animosity between the two sides.

Jia Yan did not participate in the celebration as he felt there was nothing worthy of celebration in this particular fight, considering it wasn’t a real battle.

Fortunately, the outcome of the battle was extremely fruitful. Out of the two hundred newly captured battleships, more than seventy fell into the hands of the Giant Mosquito Fleet. Among the damaged battleships, over fifty could be repaired and reused, though their performance was no longer guaranteed.

”Lord Jia Yan, I suggest that while Tia Country has not yet reacted internally, we should preemptively seize some strategic locations.”

Jia Yan thought that Kama and the other woman would spend a longer period in celebration. Unexpectedly, just two hours after their victory, they came together to Jia Yan.

”Strategic locations?” Jia Yan looked at them, somewhat surprised.

”Yes, Kama and I have discussed this. Our disadvantage is logistical and repair issues, which was not a problem that could be fixed momentarily. However, there is an easy solution, which is to quickly occupy one or two important enemy strongholds. Those places will definitely have abundant resources, and given that the people of Tia Country are inclined towards Kama, seizing some of those strategic locations from original Tia Country could swiftly solve our problems.”

Findley pulled out her smart brain and pointed at the territorial map of Tia Country.

Jia Yan considered it and found it to be a good idea. For the Giant Mosquito Fleet, obtaining supplies from the outside was not an easy task, and their international reputation was somewhat tarnished. The cost of acquiring certain resources would undoubtedly be very high!

If they could capture some important resource locations of Tia Country, it would greatly alleviate the situation.

”However, isn’t Tia Country just a small nation with one planet?” Jia Yan asked, puzzled.

”Uh... Lord, it seems your understanding of Tia Country is really somewhat lacking,” Kama and Findley exchanged glances, only then realizing how little Jia Yan regarded their homeland, not even bothering with basic intelligence.

Through her explanations, Jia Yan was somewhat astonished to learn that his understanding of this so-called small nation was indeed limited.

It turned out that the one planet territory of Tia Country was only marked as such on the international boundaries in the Northern Star Domain. In fact, the nation possessed three planets, but aside from the main Taya Star, the other two were just around the ’planet’ standard line set by the Northern Star Domain Alliance, and thereafter, they were classified as secondary planets. Nevertheless, they played roles almost equivalent to that of planets, enlarging the territorial domain of Tia Country significantly, spanning nearly half a light-year.

Within this half light-year, there were even more large interstellar materials, along with medium and just enough habitable small interstellar materials, which were countless.

”We have so many large interstellar materials we could attack first, of course, there are also some medium materials we can target, though the impact may not be significant.”

Findley pointed at the dots on the light screen, listing them one by one.

Initially, within the territories that surrounded the entire Country of Taia, there were more than eighty livable resource points that reached large interstellar material standards. Among them, more than ten were of an extra-large scale; if Let Jia Yan were to see them, they would all appear almost as big as the Moon, practically planets themselves!

”The entire Country of Taia turned out to be this large, and this is considered a small country. In this Northern Star Domain, the definition of a large country still exceeds my imagination.”

Jia Yan looked at the dots on the light screen, each shimmering, feeling somewhat sentimental.

”Uh? Is there a Scientific Research Space City here?”

When Jia Yan’s gaze fell on a certain large celestial body at the edge of the nation’s territory, his eyes sharply focused. It turned out that this large celestial body was marked with a research institute sample.

”This place? That’s right, it houses one of Taia’s former top ten scientific research institutes. But, as it’s on the border, it engages mainly in cosmic studies. Lord, are you interested in this place? It’s not bad; it’s Taia’s ninth largest celestial body, and the resources are quite abundant.” Findley, clearly more knowledgeable about geography than Kama, spoke directly about the information of this celestial body.

”Cosmic studies? Good, set the first target here!” Jia Yan immediately issued the command.

”Alright! Then we will treat this place as the first target to conquer!”

...

In the Northern Star Domain, a Star Domain often waging wars, there were seldom any wars that could attract widespread attention within the Star Domain.

But this time, a force called the Mosquito Fleet attracted considerable attention, not only because this force aimed to conquer a nation, but also due to its ties to the past events of that nation, combined with the fact that it was an external entity, making the Mosquito Fleet a highly topical issue.

Of course, many forces were extremely resistant to the Mosquito Fleet intervening in the internal affairs of the Northern Star Domain, even if the dethroned Princess of Taia appeared several times suggesting the Mosquito Fleet was merely hired by her to help restore her nation. Nonetheless, many forces harbored intense hostility towards the Mosquito Fleet.

While the Mosquito Fleet seemed to act on its own accord, almost all surrounding forces simultaneously thought to cut off the logistic resources of the fleet, a fleet that actually had no logistics to speak of. This fleet then proceeded directly towards the inner borders of the Country of Taia!

”Divide the troops?”

”That’s right, our fleet’s movements inside Taia’s borders can easily be tracked by the enemy, given our small numbers. However, if we adopted the tactics of the star thieves, they wouldn’t have much to hold against us. Adding to that, the reputation Kama and I have within Taia, even if we split our forces, we’ll still receive significant help!”

As the fleet advanced, Findley approached Jia Yan to discuss possible future tactics for the fleet.

”You’re right, but I also want to ask, given how few our numbers are, if you split our troops further and encounter an enemy fleet, are you confident in victory? Or rather, do you have some special strategy?”

Jia Yan, facing Findley, didn’t trust her much, much like Kama who also took a lot of time to earn Jia Yan’s trust; at this moment, he didn’t trust this woman from the Bella clan.

If it weren’t for Jia Yan having little desire to control the Mosquito Fleet, this female wouldn’t have easily obtained such significant command authority over the fleet, even to some extent greater than Kama’s power.

”Lord, you’re not wrong, but for Kama and me, this idea of splitting our forces only has benefits, no drawbacks. We have a bit of a reputation in Taia, and if we split forces into two locations, we can be more effective in taking over forces within Taia who might turn to us. Thus, our pace in attacking Taia will only quicken!” Findley patiently explained to Jia Yan.

”I hope you don’t have any other motives.” Jia Yan looked at her with a sharp gaze, ”You’ve been in contact with me for a while now, you should know that I don’t give much thought to power, but that doesn’t mean I appreciate betrayal. If you do so, you know my strength, even if I have to march to the capital of Taia, I will not let you survive.”

”I understand...” Findley seemed slightly shaken by the aura Jia Yan exuded, and after taking a deep breath, even though she was a powerful Mid-Starry Sky powerhouse, she still felt somewhat inadequate in front of Jia Yan who was almost at the Lord Level and possessed the ability to kill across tiers.

”I wouldn’t do anything to upset you, Lord. Just understand, I just desperately want to return my ancestral land to the hands of the Bella people.”

That day, the already fleet-poor Mosquito Fleet split into two divisions, one led by Jia Yan and Kama, headed for the research institute’s celestial body that Jia Yan wanted to seize. On the other hand, Findley led a fleet of fewer than three hundred battleships, called the Mosquito Fleet Second Army, toward another direction.

”Kama, please forgive my actions. Jia Yan’s power is too strong, I must have some means to counter him.”

After the fleet had split, Findley, watching the main body of the Mosquito Fleet moving away, had a look of reluctance in her eyes, but she remained resolute!
