Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1112: Chapter 43 The Second Strong One! [First Update]

His purpose for this trip had been achieved, as he had sabotaged the fake contract between Kama and the Country of Taia. Moreover, he had killed several high-space-level beings, which served as a deterrent to the petty villains.

As for causing the soldiers of Taia to face potential dangers in their forthcoming retreat, Jia Yan did not feel he had made a mistake. If he had not appeared, it’s likely many soldiers would have perished outside the building.

Just as Jia Yan had leaped forward, seemingly breaking through some defense device’s frequency, a thunderous voice roared from behind him.

”Jia Yan, where do you think you’re going?”

This was a huge monster shrouded in smoke, its body barely visible through the swirling mists around it.

Only a pair of huge eyes, filled with a terrifying intent, were sizing up Jia Yan as he flew.

”The one before was not you, huh, heh, but no matter, as long as this one is real. Just surrender to me now.”

The smoke monster was behind Jia Yan, moving even faster and closing the distance quickly.

”A Starry Sky Sovereign? And not the one from Dragon Bell Star!” Jia Yan looked seriously at the monster behind him. Before taking action, he had, of course, researched his potential opponents, so he knew the creature showing up was definitely not the respected-level monster from Dragon Bell Star.

He was not even a monster from a planet near Dragon Bell Star. Jia Yan acknowledged that his intelligence was sufficient, but he had absolutely no information on this being in his mind.

This could only mean that the other was not of this starry sky, perhaps not even from the Central Star Domain, but rather from some other place in the Northern Star Domain.

Regardless, the opponent’s direct pursuit indicated ill intentions, and presently, Jia Yan had no time to entangle with him and could only fly upwards quickly. He aimed to reach outer space before the planet’s defense artillery activated, complicating his escape.

”Stop right there!” The smoke monster obviously was not going to let Jia Yan escape so easily. As he enveloped his body in swirling smoke, he fiercely enveloped Jia Yan’s area in an attempt to completely enclose him.

”Hmph!” Although unsure of what kind of attack this was, like it was said before, in every cosmic race, the Rules for the Strong are universal; with enough power, even a black hole could possibly be shattered, let alone this monster’s smoke?

Jia Yan’s Brainwave Power fiercely activated, creating a gust-like zone that directly dispersed much of the approaching smoke.

However, due to the nature of smoke, it did not blow far before reassembling.

”Scram!” Jia Yan’s speed greatly increased, and then his body entered the subspace, where the surroundings took on an entirely different aspect.

The scenery around shifted to extraordinary monotony with Jia Yan taking a confident step forward!

All of a sudden...

His body emerged hundreds of kilometers away as if he had only taken a single step.

”How is this possible!” The respected level monster behind screamed in utter shock.

He was unaware of the extent of Jia Yan’s current strength. Although he had seen Jia Yan in that fight in the Hao Tower Alliance, he was aware that Jia Yan’s space travel ability was meant to be used in the cosmos; otherwise, too many factors on a planet could lead to disastrous consequences.

After all, subspace is theoretically another dimension, where even the strongest beings can be diced into several pieces if not careful.

Yet Jia Yan had just traversed through subspace and then hundreds of kilometers away, already within the starry sky, he turned back and gave a cold look at the cosmic-level monster, then his figure faded softly...

When he reappeared, he was again hundreds of kilometers away.

”How can anyone chase him? Is Jia Yan such a troublesome existence?!” The Smoke Monster had been confident that he could catch up with Jia Yan despite having been distanced by five hundred kilometers, yet every time Jia Yan entered the subspace and reappeared, he was hundreds of kilometers away again, with no interval, making it impossible even for him to pursue.

Previously, he had thought this guy was just a high-ranking existence; after all, he was a prominent dignitary among the Respect Level, capturing him should have been an easy task. However, unexpectedly, he couldn’t even keep up with the chase.

”No! The stronger this guy is, the more it proves that Pai Lan spoke the truth—he possesses the secret of Advancement to Eternal Star Rank!”

A strong desire was apparent in the eyes of the monster; obviously, no matter how hard Jia Yan was to capture, he would continue the pursuit relentlessly. Even if Jia Yan held a prestigious identity, the allure of potentially ascending to the Eternal Star Rank was too irresistible for the monster to let go.

It was not just him; if he were to spread this news, the whole Northern Star Domain would be shaken. Even those Superior Semi-permanent Star Level powerhouses would mobilize!

But he was not going to share this news; one of his subordinates had informed him.

That subordinate was precisely the intended recipient of the information from Pai Lan. However, after witnessing Jia Yan’s performance in the battle within the Hao Tower Alliance, he realized he stood no chance against Jia Yan and decided to confide in his boss, this Smoke powerhouse!

”That guy is already dead at my hands, and Pai Lan from the Desolate Star System, I’ve also dispatched to kill. Anyone who knows this information must die, for this secret of advancement is destined to be mine!”

The Smoke dignitary, reaching an age close to his limit, believed he still had a chance to fight for it. This chance was perhaps the secret Jia Yan potentially held. Initially, he was skeptical about this information, but after witnessing the powerful techniques Jia Yan employed, he became convinced—or rather, he saw a significant possibility that Jia Yan held such secrets!

After all, a strong one’s battle techniques aren’t just casually displayed. The fighting skills Jia Yan deployed showed that they couldn’t have been devised by his contemplation alone, as some things are impossible to create out of thin air.

”If Jia Yan really holds this secret of advancement, or at least something that significantly increases the possibility of it, it’s an exceedingly exhilarating piece of news for me. As long as I obtain it, I will urgently assault the Eternal Star Rank. Even if the advancement fails, becoming a Superior Semi-permanent Star powerhouse will still definitely extend my life by several hundred years!”

Reflecting on this, the desire in the eyes of this Respect-Level entity became even more intense. If Jia Yan could see his current expression, he would surely be deeply moved, as such a look was often seen on Old Suo Wu.

The Smoke Monster looked in the direction Jia Yan had fled, then down at the planet below. The chaos on the planet continued unabated. He halted pursuit of Jia Yan, instead turning downwards, knowing that even if Jia Yan had left, the fugitive soldiers of the Country of Taia must also have information about him.

In the void of space, Jia Yan’s figure continually flickered.

”Alright, he cannot catch up with me here.”

After about ten instances of space travel, spanning thousands of kilometers and changing direction multiple times through the vast universe, it was virtually impossible for even the powerful monster to pinpoint the correct direction to find Jia Yan’s escaping trail.

”This monster is terrifying, I can feel his power; it’s more horrific than the average Respect-Level.”

”That’s right, Jia Yan, he might be one of the rare ’Secondary’ powerhouses within the Respect Level,” the Light Shadow Monster suddenly said inside Jia Yan’s body.

”Secondary Powerhouse? What does that mean? Aren’t all Respect-Level monsters supposed to be at the same level?” Jia Yan was suddenly startled upon hearing a new term, looking bewilderedly at the Light Shadow Monster within his wing membrane.

”That should be the case. However, Secondary Powerhouses are different. If I put it in a simple term you can understand, they are not supposed to belong to the Respect Level but are the weakest among the Semi-permanent Star Level powerhouses!”

”Semi-permanent Star Level powerhouse?” Hearing this term, a chill ran down Jia Yan’s spine.

Regardless of the context, any term associated with the Eternal Star Level instilled him with a deep reverence. And if this powerhouse was actually at the Semi-permanent Star Level, he had to marvel that he had managed to escape from such a being.

”But!” The Light Shadow Monster switched the direction of its conversation inside Jia Yan’s mind.

”Secondary Powerhouses, unlike typical Semi-permanent Star powerhouses, are those who have failed in advancing to Eternal Star Rank. Don’t be surprised, advancing to Eternal Star Rank is not something simple. Out of a thousand top-level dignitaries, the success rate is about one in a thousand, which means only one has the possibility of success, and sometimes not even one succeeds. Among those who fail, about nine hundred will die, and those who survive become Semi-permanent Star powerhouses. But let me tell you about the top-level dignitaries. In this universe, there are also some Overestimating their abilities or who are at the end of their lifespans and have no choice but to make the attempt, and for these beings at the dignitary level, one in a million succeeding is considered lucky. However, among those who fail, the survival rate is higher, maybe three hundred out of a thousand can survive. And these survivors, although far less powerful than the real Semi-permanent Star powerhouses, still surpass the average Respect Level. To classify them among the Semi-permanent Star powerhouses would be an insult, hence the term Secondary Powerhouses was coined.”
