Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 349: Chapter 34 Another Mutation, Begins! [Request for regular subscription] _1

The decision made by the pilots was very normal. If they hadn’t been as cautious, they would have already perished in the war against the Metal Monsters that had raged on for over half a year!

So in this situation, upon witnessing the terrifying spectacle of the battle beneath them, they were shocked to their core. Their first instinct was to consider a ’strategic retreat’!

Only fools would recklessly undertake a hopeless task!

They had seen this place explode violently, the kind of explosion only an atom bomb could cause. How could they possibly get involved in such a battle!?

”Withdraw!”

The series of red light attacks intensified, ultimately driving away the last vestiges of courage from the fleet of planes in the sky!

They turn around, swiftly retreating!

These human fighter planes, after having merely made a token appearance, safely left the scene!

Yet, Jia Yan below was oblivious that there had briefly been a team of ’helpers’ above him, ready to assist!

At this point, he was sinking into a state of shock from excessive blood loss. If he didn’t mutate quickly, it might be too late!

”Hurry up!”

Just as he was feeling weaker and weaker, Jia Yan’s leg, which was inside the cannon barrel, suddenly encountered a large object!

Subsequently, joy surged up from his heart!

Not long after, he pulled his leg out of the cannon barrel.

His leg was holding onto something, an object that brought Jia Yan great delight!

It’s a crystal as huge as ten ordinary Deep Blue Crystals. The surface of this crystal, although still deep blue, has a blue hue that surpasses all the Deep Blue Crystals Jia Yan has ever seen!

This is no longer an ordinary blue, but a blue that’s almost black!

Looking at this massive blue crystal, its surface glittering and iridescent, it seems to have a strange charm.

”Is this enough? It should be! There should be nothing left inside!”

Looking at the huge deep blue crystal, with a diameter of thirty to forty centimeters, Jia Yan’s instinctive craving for consumption had a somewhat terrifying feeling. It seemed to indicate that this object was not something that he could absorb at his current state!

But Jia Yan has no other options!

”It’s enough! Find a place to check if there’s still time to mutate!”

There was once again a glimmer of survival in Jia Yan’s compound eyes!

The majestic giant building only had less than half of it left standing, but he himself had run completely out of strength to continue its destruction!

Nevertheless, Jia Yan was still forcing himself to flap his wings.

He flew into the sky!

Those Metal Monsters below still kept launching attacks, each one fueled by enormous power!

But to Jia Yan, apart from the wounded part of his abdomen, he feared nothing for the rest of his body. Therefore, all he did at this moment was to slightly guard his wounded part. Those attacks from the Metal Monsters could only be rendered ineffective!

The Giant Mosquito’s flight was a bit shaky.

He flew into the sky!

At this moment, he was completely drained of strength, but he couldn’t afford to just stop flying. He knew that in this world, only he himself could save him. No one else could or would come to his rescue!

Although unbeknownst to him, a squadron of human-controlled fighter planes had been at this location but had already left. If that were not the case, his convictions might have been slightly altered.

Of course, there are no ifs in life. Jia Yan believed that he was here alone, battling the Metal Monsters in their lair!

The outcome of this battle was less than ideal; it could be said they made a draw!

”No rush! At least here I’ve acquired so many Deep Blue Crystals. These Deep Blue Crystals will surely be enough for me to mutate again!”

The black body, laden with injury and fatigue, swiftly flew towards the distant horizon!

The Metal Monsters that passed by underneath seemed to have received some orders. One by one, they climbed to a high point!

They aimed to snipe Jia Yan!

Although these attacks would not have been a threat to the Jia Yan of before!

But right now, he was severely injured!

Therefore, the body of the Big Mosquito waveringly in the air was gradually becoming increasingly unstable!

Yet it still progressed at a remarkably fast speed!

When he had traveled a certain distance away from the city, Jia Yan found that there were far fewer Metal Monsters around him. After all, there hadn’t been many Metal Monsters in Jiangnan to begin with, and the ones that had attacked him were now located in other places.

So upon reaching the wilderness, the amount of attacks he faced instantly reduced considerably.

After taking several turns, he finally descended to a place nearly tens of kilometers away where there were no Metal Monsters in sight!

The area was a large forest.

Jia Yan only felt that everything before his eyes had lost its luster. All things seemed to spin around, a result of severe blood loss and damage to his body’s organs.

His injuries were profound indeed!

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that making it this far was already beyond belief!

Not knowing exactly where he was, Jia Yan saw a dark spot before his eyes and rammed straight into it!

Mutation!

Hurry!

As soon as Jia Yan landed, a trickle of Condensation Fluid began to seep out from his body!

Perhaps it was due to the severity of his injuries, but the appearance of this fluid was far from promising.

”Damn! My consciousness is blurring. If I can’t hurry, I shall surely die before the mutation commences!”

Perhaps it was a stroke of luck, but at this moment, Jia Yan took out an azure crystal that he had hidden under his wing’s membrane.

Without giving it another thought, he applied the Deep Blue Crystal to his wound.

The moment the Azure Crystal touched his wound, an strange change occurred. His damaged area seemed to become a place that accelerated the absorption of the Deep Blue Crystal!

Immediately, the azure color began to quickly seep into his internal organs through decomposition!

Subsequently, this azure color lightly tinged his entire body.

Jia Yan no longer had the capacity to think about anything, so he retrieved all his Deep Blue Crystals.

Afterwards, he slipped into a semiconscious state!

He had no idea how much time had passed...

Perhaps an hour, or even half a day had gone by!

Jia Yan slowly revived from his unconscious state.

He took stock of his body.

At this time, he wasn’t the insignificant mosquito unaccustomed to the mutation process anymore!

Now, he was thoroughly familiar with the process, so he could tell the extent of his mutation by sensing the changes in his body!

”I’ve actually begun mutating! I survived!”

Jia Yan, feeling his body, awakened not due to natural causes, but due to the intense pain brought on by the mutation process which disintegrated even his body cells!

He could still feel the tremendous wound in his abdomen, but with the ongoing mutation, the worsening of the wound had come to a halt!

”Good! This must be a mixed blessing. If I hadn’t been injured, I wouldn’t have been able to mutate so quickly! After all, having grown as powerful as I am now, the mutation process won’t occur in a short period of just a few months!”

While enduring the pain of this mutation, Jia Yan distracted himself by thinking randomly.

Otherwise, he would be utterly tormented by the sensation of the pain!

The Condensation Fluid on his body slowly flowed out, and the objects on the ground were gradually absorbed!

Through his Compound Eyes that still had a modicum of vision, Jia Yan finally made out that he was in a site resembling a colossal factory!

This place should have been a metal workshop built by humans, so it was filled with precise instruments everywhere.

However, this place had undoubtedly been abandoned for a long time, as many similar places had already been abandoned due to the war with the Metal Monsters.

With his massive body occupying most of the workshop, Jia Yan found this place, concealed by the forest outside and the roof of the workshop above, quite hidden.
