Earth War Chronicle!)

“Fantastic!

My ability to operate with Brainwave Power has elevated to another level.

I wonder if Daphne would be surprised if she saw this!?”

Jia Yan looked at the scene before him with compound eyes full of mystery.

When his thoughts turned to the woman who had taught him how to train, a fleeting feeling of hatred appeared.

But seeking revenge on Daphne was a matter for the future!

What he needed to do at the moment was to return to Earth and check his family’s condition.

If he could not ensure their safety, he wouldn’t be able to focus on anything else.

Jia Yan continued his tests.

At this point, he still had ample time.

According to the operation process carried out over the months, the inertia buffer of his spacecraft required a distance of about 10,000 kilometers.

So, he still had plenty more time for his training!

However, his mind was already focused on Earth, so his training couldn’t be as rigorous as it should be, making it less efficient!

But he didn’t stop.

At this point, it was essential for him to continue his tests!

After all, his improvements over the past months, particularly his progress with Brainwave Power, had been tremendous.

If he didn’t familiarize himself thoroughly with this newfound strength, it would hamper the upcoming battles he anticipated.

Mastering all his powers, systematically familiarizing himself with his combat feelings, was definitely not a waste of time!

The current Jia Yan was like a well-honed sword, about to be unsheathed!

His prowess might surprise both the metal monsters and the humans of Earth World!

A sword’s edge is honed by grinding, just like a plum blossom’s fragrance is brought forth by harsh winter.

Jia Yan had experienced hardships unimaginable to others, thereby gaining his current strength.

His power was not obtained easily.

Without these hardships, he would not have become so powerful!

The spacecraft continued its journey, heading towards Earth!

On Earth, the war had already become more intense!

There was a significant move against Shanghai City.

The metal monsters didn’t seem to possess any formidable organization abilities.

However, in another aspect, they had no apparent weaknesses either.

They would persist in executing their combat strategy, which made the metal monsters terrifying.

Fearless, persistent, and never showing the slightest hint of fatigue!

Only emotionless robots were capable of such performance!

The battle in Shanghai City was almost one-sided from the beginning.

Even though the humans had repelled the invasions of the army of metallic monsters several times, everyone knew that the forces currently on Shanghai City were fragile and ready to break at any moment.

Shortage of weapons and ammunition, disruption of production and daily life, the local forces were already caught in a crisis of equipment and food supplies!

However, the conditions for the forces were still relatively better than for the general public.

The civilians who had once gathered around Shanghai City were nearly wiped out during the first war in Shanghai City.

People journeyed to Shanghai City in search of hope for survival.

Still, the local forces were not only incapable of protecting them but also nearly overrun by the metal monsters.

Such a situation had completely broken people’s faith!

That’s why most of the civilians left this place.

The cultivated fields were once again abandoned.

Even the newly sown fields were incinerated by the metal monsters’ lasers, leading to a critical shortage of food supplies for the city!

Only contributions from villages scattered around Shanghai City, combined with the military’s own farming efforts, could barely maintain the enormous military consumption!

Under such circumstances, another attack by the metal monsters would undoubtedly weaken this already fragile system even more!

As of today, around Shanghai City, there were still two ‘full-strength’ Class-A Army Groups, three ‘reorganized’ Class-A Army Groups, and three ‘full-strength’ Class-B Army Groups.

A total of 380,000 soldiers were still deployed there.

The numbers of soldiers seem sufficient, but if compared to the forces that achieved great victories in the past, they were far inferior!

During the first resistance against the Army of metallic monsters, the number of soldiers in Shanghai City had once reached more than 700,000.

Their weapons and transport were in optimal conditions at that time.

However, the situation deteriorated with each battle.

During the second battle, the number of warriors dropped to just over 500,000.

Shanghai City expanded its conscription at such a speed, the battle continuing still, that at first glance, the number of soldiers did not seem to be much different from before.

However, the actual combat power, even the equipment, was no longer on the same level as before.

It was a world of difference!

Therefore, when the metallic monsters launched their all-out assault, under such circumstances, countless people chose to flee from Shanghai, a city that had previously been rated as the ‘world’s safest city’ for resisting metal monsters.

Even the problem of soldiers’ quality lead to an increasing number of deserters!

Riddled with holes, Shanghai City faced tens of thousands of metallic monsters under such circumstances!

The battle could be said to have started and ended in an instant!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!!!!!!——

A huge explosion resounded in the original downtown area of Shanghai City!

There were no ordinary people in this area now.

The ones present here were those young warriors who were filled with patriotic fervor, fighting for their country and compatriots, and more importantly, to protect their families!

This area had long been infiltrated by metallic monsters.

One by one, they rampaged through this once prosperous place!

On the evening of the traditional New Year’s Day in Huaxia, the metallic monsters chose this moment to launch their final assault on Shanghai City!

Their attack efficiency had become even more efficient, and many of the magnetic shock bombs that had previously been effective against them had lost their effect at this moment!

That’s right!

The metal monsters were changing, too, as a result of the prolonged war!

Perhaps it was the war tactics of the Auster people, now being manifested in these so-called mining robots, which had also become stronger, elevating their attack and defense to a higher level after countless battles!

Therefore, the casualties of human warriors became extremely large!

“Aah!!!

I’ll fight you to the death!”

A seemingly familiar young man roared in a corner of this battle!

His body was covered with fresh blood, but he still aimed his weapon at the continuously attacking metallic monsters, firing bullets at them!

These were magnetic shock bombs, which were supposed to have a significant effect on metal monsters.

But the monsters had simply added a metal plate to their heart area.

Such a small modification had become a dramatic change in the course of the battle!

The effect of the magnetic shock bombs was negligible!

In the dim light, the young man’s face became vaguely visible!

If Jia Yan were here, he might be surprised to discover his identity.

He was Fan Haofei, the young man who had once helped Jia Yan in Shanghai City when Big Mosquito was still weak.

Of course, Jia Yan had merely taken refuge in his house for a while, and Haofei himself might not even be aware of it.

His name was Fan Haofei.

He was once a common working-class guy in this city, striving hard for his future!

But when the crisis of the metallic monsters exploded, this young man in Shanghai City, after losing contact with his family in the countryside, resolutely enlisted in the army!

Having experienced the first and second defense battles of Shanghai City, with his comrades changing batch after batch, he managed to pull through each arduous battle.

As a young man with multiple battle experiences, he successfully became a squad leader leading a five-man combat team!

However, on this night when he missed his family, Fan Haofei lost his comrades once again!

Blood was being spilled in front of him.

The days of fighting for more than half a year seemed distant.

Those days when he was busy day in and day out at a small renovation company, working hard for a monthly salary of more than five thousand yuan in Shanghai City, seemed like just yesterday.

Fan Haofei pulled the trigger.

The fiery light flashed, bullets jetted out one after another!
