[Asking for subscription]_1 Perhaps it was because the red light dispersed, or the metal monster was trying to conserve energy, the intensity of the red light attack this time was not as powerful as the previous one that devastated the Capital of the Star-Spangled Banner Country, Washington.

The city in the front line of the attack was Huaxia’s last massive metropolis, which in this crisis, time and again stole the world’s attention, Shanghai City!

This city, despite many trials and tribulations, had not only failed to decrease its population but showed signs of a further increase!

Yet, on this fateful day, the red light ultimately tore through the sky, hitting a corner of the city!

Despite not being as potent as in the Washington attack, the red-light bombardment was still brutally intense!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

— —

A torturous explosion took place, revealing the sharp claws of superweapons that made even human nuclear bombs seem insignificant.

This day was later referred to by future humans as the ‘World Suffering Day,’ the day that took the lives of more than five million people!

The little progress Earth’s people had made in their counterattack got abruptly halted.

The actions of the metal monster were as systematic as before.

Whenever the morale of humans peaked, it deployed its lethal red light, causing havoc in the human-dominated areas.

In front of weapons that far surpassed human capabilities, the beleaguered remains of humanity trembled ceaselessly.

Even though Shanghai City wasn’t completely destroyed that day and the devastation affected only a small corner, the ‘Anti-Metal Monster Alliance,’ hastily set up in the wake of these events, stood no chance of success.

The formerly vibrant Shanghai City now felt like a deflated balloon.

Countless people, who had just gained residency, started to flee…

Perhaps the war was controlled by the metal monsters from the beginning, and humans were merely their playthings.

The war continued.

However, desolation and despair steadily spread.

Far away on Neptune, the Big Mosquito had no idea about all the events taking place on Earth.

As the Earth was going through all this, it was still in the midst of a mutation process that had been going on for quite some time…

From the establishment of the so-called Anti-Metal Monster Alliance to its superficial existence for some time, Jia Yan was in the middle of his mutations.

Perhaps the advantage of mutating in space was that he no longer had too many urgent concerns.

Even though he was worried about his loved ones on Earth, he was stuck in space with no way of returning home.

Hence, all of his anxiety was pointless.

So, now, he let go of his thoughts and allowed himself to be enveloped by the mutation process.

Time ticked on.

In the vast and profound universe, a gas planet ran its orbit solitarily against a pitch-dark backdrop.

The world around it was entirely plunged in darkness, barring the sparse starry matter whirling around this gas planet.

For such matter in space, time is not measured in years.

They could orbit around for tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years!

Neptune, the largest planet in this area, was the undisputed ruler here.

Humans might say that the largest planet in the solar system is Jupiter.

But here, an unimaginable distance far away from Jupiter and even the Sun, everything was influenced by Neptune’s gravitational pull.

Here, Neptune was the central body around which numerous celestial bodies orbited, instead of the sun.

Near Neptune, in its faint ring of planets, there was a rather conspicuous entity, silently in orbit.

Compared to other celestial objects, its orbit was strange due to a massive explosion it experienced earlier, causing a shift in its trajectory.

If there were no unexpected factors disrupting its current orbit, this object could gradually be gravitated and swallowed by Neptune in a few years’ time.

But for now, as it had not fallen yet, it served as a decent sanctuary for life!

There, within this half-destroyed entity, an odd object resembling a frozen mass of metal, moved slightly.

It seemed to be alive, but no signs of life could be detected, no matter how closely one observed.

This was a giant mass ten meters in length.

Lying on the ground, it resembled a small hill!

It was massive, and its solidified body had consumed a considerable chunk of the durable metal on the ground.

If the metal in this region wasn’t as thick as it was, the ground there might have been eroded right through!

Undoubtedly, the thing gestating within this massive object was the Big Mosquito that had fallen into hibernation for over half a month!

Yes, this time, the mutation period was again incredibly protracted.

With Jia Yan’s repeated growth in power, his mutation process had also become longer and longer.

Perhaps, when he truly wishes to become a formidable Star Sky Beast that can traverse the cosmic expanse one day, he might need to hibernate for more than one or two months!

Of course, this was still a far-off concern.

Considering Jia Yan’s current stance, the Star Sky Beast remained but an entity of myth.

While dreams are ultimately dreams, reality continually marches forward one step at a time!

Jia Yan resided in his self-constructed ‘cocoon’, engaged in peaceful slumber.

In the scant half a year since his rebirth, he had experienced so much and accumulated numerous unforgettable memories.

As such, he was astounded to realize that his dreams now seldom featured instances from his past human shell.

Instead, they were increasingly filled with the minutiae of his life as a giant mosquito.

It was indicative of how he increasingly considered his giant mosquito existence to be his center.

Perhaps, not too far in the future, all instances of his past human existence would vanish like smoke in the wind, enabling him to harbor total peace of mind!

Thump-Thump!

Thump-Thump!!

Thump-Thump-Thump-Thump!!

The crisp sound of a robust heartbeat continuously echoed within the area.

It was the sound of the mosquito’s distinctive yet fragile heart!

The feeble heart of the mosquito, in the course of the giant mosquito’s continuous evolution, had finally reached a level of power impossible to describe!

As is widely known, a mosquito is an incomplete evolutionary organism.

Their bodies encompass only the most rudimentary of biological organs.

Even the most basic heart organ amongst Earth’s inhabitants is not quite complete in their bodies.

Through several instances of mutation, Jia Yan had continually augmented his physical body.

With his unique heart function continuously magnifying, it grew to become something increasingly extraordinary, becoming a rare specimen that, even after exhaustive observation throughout the entire Earth, could not be paralleled!

The tubular heart from before had, through this mutation process, reached an astonishingly dreadful stage.

Perhaps to accommodate the ever-increasing battle demands of the Big Mosquito, his instinct had pushed this vital organ to an unbelievable extent!

The pulsating sound of the heart indicated the recent manifestation of the powerful heart, supplying a robust force for the variations in other organs of his physique!

The blood that had, at some point, turned into a bright red hue was, under the pressure of the strong heartbeat, funneled to different parts of his body.

Countless bud-like substances in his body, due to the heart’s efforts, became more energetic.

They diligently constructed the current body of the giant mosquito.

At this moment, he appeared akin to a newborn nestled within its mother’s womb, exhibiting a faint semblance of his form!

The absorption of objects by the ‘Condensation Fluid’ had now come to a halt.

The enormous surrounding spaceship had been completely exhausted.

Even though the previous spaceship had been utterly disassembled, being capable of devouring that mountain of stuff showed how frightening the ‘appetite’ of the current Big Mosquito was!

In this mutating process, there were indeed too many good things.

If perhaps an Earth-based scientist was here, they would lament the opportunity that was lost.

Simply because, a detailed analysis of many aspects could likely augment the entire Earth’s scientific prowess to another level!

However, Jia Yan was no longer human.

He would not overly consider human benefit.

Besides, at this moment, he needed these things for his mutation.

His previous injuries were truly severe, and if he hadn’t undergone this mutation, it’s possible he might have died outright!

Time continued to pass inexorably!

Just as the powerful heart made its appearance, the Giant Mosquito’s mutation pace seemed to expedite further.

The formidable mutating power incessantly transformed the body.

The Giant Mosquito’s infant-like form, day by day, became increasingly ferocious…

Eventually, as the war on Earth became even more intense and the number of human casualties drastically surged.

The day precisely marked one month since Jia Yan began his mutation!

Boom!

Boom!

Crack!

Crack!

Crack!

Crack!

At the center of the base’s ground area, the enormous object began to manifest large cracks!
