Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 320: Chapter 5 Battle of Two Assassins!【2/3】_1

Jia Yan just had a vague feeling while flying.

But he only allowed his compound eyes to take a distant look at the landscape ahead, and after that, his eyes, gleaming brightly, did not look again!

”If a battle is to happen, I’ll accompany you! But before that, I must rescue my family and settle them down properly!”

Thinking of this, Jia Yan sped up even more!

The arrogant Giant Mosquito at this point seemed incredibly agile, its speed fully expressed at this moment, the Giant Mosquito being different from a few months ago on Earth!

He was six meters long a few months ago, but his strength on the battlefield then was only to deal with some metal monsters!

And all he had was physical strength!

But now, not only has his physical strength become even greater, but his brainwave power has improved significantly!

The development of his brainwave power and the increase in knowledge might be his greatest gains from this space journey. No one could imagine how much Jia Yan has achieved in the universe, maybe even Daphne would regret that she brought Jia Yan into the universe once she learned of them!

But there are no ifs and buts in real life!

Although Jia Yan had no regrets about going to the universe, he felt a twinge of guilt for not taking care of his family over the past few months!

If an accident were to happen, Jia Yan would be devastated!

Since his rebirth, all the pain he had been through was overcome by thinking of his family. It was because of his family that he could endure loneliness and solitude that seemed to be endless!

If his family died in the chaos, his mental pillar would crumble, and he wouldn’t know what he would become then!

He flew at a high speed towards the battleground!

Pop pop pop pop!!!!

Gunshots kept firing from that spot, and countless bullets were shot out of the dark area as the Giant Mosquito approached, with red rays mixed in between. This back and forth crossfire shows the intensity of the battlefield!

Two injured assassins in the battleground were holding their wounds, their faces fierce!

This was the moment of truth for them!

The members of the battle squad around them were dwindling, those experienced gunmen were dying off by the minute, leaving behind rookies with no battle experience.

They now had a few options!

The first was to stay and keep fighting the metal monsters as they were doing now!

The second was to abandon some people and let those abandoned individuals fight it out with the metal monsters while the main forces escaped!

The third was to run away without a care for anyone else!

In this world, they had guns and battle experience on their hands, they would be formidable anywhere. As long as they abandoned everyone else, even if they had to climb out barehanded, they could escape from this desperate situation surrounded by metal monsters!

The best option was actually the third!

But could they abandon everything here?!

Their combat power had decreased dramatically due to a number of injuries sustained over the past six months. They might not even be able to defeat an ordinary gunman combined, but if they weren’t here to command the squad, there would be no hope of survival at all!

Yes, they were assassins, and assassins were supposed to be cold-hearted and inhuman!

But they had experienced many feelings here that they hadn’t before!

Not to mention, the Jia’s family treated them not only with gratitude for saving their lives but also as if they were part of the family! If they were to run away, would they have to abandon the people from Jia’s family who are by their side right now?!

If it was half a year ago, they might not have hesitated to do so!

There were two assassins; one was an orphan and the other came from a single-parent family. After the last of their relatives passed away, the then fifteen-year-old Bearded saved the starving, spectacled, seven-year-old boy in the street. From then on, they became each other’s family, a bond not by blood but stronger than blood! Somehow though, circumstances led them to become assassins. Nothing more than a default in the absence of other options! Their lives depended on it. They wouldn’t have chosen this otherwise!

Perhaps it was due to the innate warmth at the bottom of their hearts that they couldn’t become top level assassins!

During the half year they spent in the village, they relearned being ordinary people, picking up how to treat others. After more than a decade, they tasted the flavor of family love again. Under such circumstances, could they abandon the people here?

”Forget it, let’s do this! Death is always an option anyway!” Bearded picked up his firearm and hid with the glasses-wearing young man in the bushes.

An isolated member of the Battle Squad sprinted past them, the shadow of a Metal Monster following closely behind him!

During the escape, the Battle Squad member tripped over and fell to the ground, on the verge of being captured by the Metal Monster!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Gunfire erupted from the weapon in Bearded’s hand!

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Bullets pounded into the body of the Metal Monster!

The Metal Monster retreated under Bearded’s assault. Centered on its torso was a rugged shield, guarding the bullets aimed at its chest. It was the only change the Metal Monster had made after several intense battles!

This amendment was made to shield the only vulnerable spot that could be exploited by humans - the heart that was exposed outside of its body!

Therefore, though Bearded’s bullets were fired extremely accurately, targeting this sole weak spot, the Metal Monster showed no sign of falling!

A red light inside its head suddenly ignited!

Wham!

A red beam of light came shooting out!

The red beam emitted by the Metal Monster was extraordinarily powerful. Though it wasn’t as fast as light, it definitely wasn’t slower than any human bullet!

This red beam, while being fired, was aimed at the one who posed the most significant threat to the Metal Monster - Bearded!

At that moment, as if he was aware that he’d become the target, Bearded abruptly flung himself into the bushes!

Unfortunately, he wasn’t fast enough to avoid the speedy red beam!

As a result, the red beam grazed his body, making a harsh piercing wound in his back!

”Ugh!” Bearded groaned in suppressed pain.

The Battle Squad member fleeing for his life was pulled into the bushes.

It was the boy wearing glasses!

The figures of the three individuals disappeared in the bushes, while the Metal Monster, having recovered from getting shot, fired a sequence of red beams at the bush. Finding nothing, it left to join its main battalion!

”Instructor Chen! Your wound...”

Not long after it left, the nearly sobbing voice of the Battle Squad member rose from the bushes.

”It’s nothing! Been injured by these damn Metal Monsters too many times. This little wound is nothing!” Bearded’s response came in a somewhat weakened tone.

Despite his optimism, the bespectacled young man didn’t share the same view. Bearded’s injury was terrifying - a red beam had wholly penetrated his back, even though it was the weakest attack the Metal Monster could launch. However, it was enough to pass through a human’s body, so Bearded had been entirely penetrated!

His face showed anxiety. It was not a small injury, although it did not seem to hit any of the vital parts. If not treated urgently, it could be life-threatening!

But how could emergency aid be possible in this desolate battlefield?! (To be continued. If you like this novel, feel free to vote on qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users can read it on m.qidian.com.)
