Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2695 Tumbling Down

*Bzzz!~*

Spatial undulations rocked the region. The space around them became wavy from multiple forces acting on them, looking all wobbly. It was as though they would collapse with a single disturbance acting on the equilibrium that caused space to still remain intact.

Nonetheless, the Immortal Emperors of the Godwin Family had a hard time defending against the unexpected power of their interceptor.

Every single one of their bodies was injured, with them having lost parts of something, whether it be their arms or legs, eyes or tongue.

Nyx Godwinʼs grandfather knew that the dust had penetrated their bodies before they knew it and was suddenly displaced by the dust gathered outside, causing their bodies to be ripped apart as a result.

However, who were they? They were Immortal Emperors, and such injuries wouldnʼt cause everlasting damage to them. He felt as long as they could escape this strangling spatial hold, then everything would fall into their control once again.

”Noo!!!”

”Fifth Grand Elder, you bastard!”

But contrary to his expectations, the other Immortal Emperors were all dragged into the sinkhole, disappearing from the region while even cursing him.

On the other hand, Nyx Godwinʼs grandfather remained. His long eyebrows danced from the force of the vacuum below him pulling him, his figure shuddering as he kept resisting the incredible spatial force that sought to crush him.

”…”

But at this moment, his eyes trembled as he saw the purple-robed woman with a blurry face walk towards him in the skies. Her figure was utterly composed, and she didnʼt seem to be straining at all to trap him, causing him to begin experiencing a bad feeling about this.

”Thereʼs no need to suffer, as I will send you all back to your power.”

The purple-robed woman slowly raised her hand and slightly moved her hand as though knocking him down.

*Bang!~*

”What!?”

Instantly, Nyx Godwinʼs grandfather lost his balance and was absorbed into the sinkhole, causing him to scream out loud. His voice disappeared into the sinkhole, causing him to feel a kind of dread that he hadnʼt felt for a long time.

His powerful spatial energy extended from his body, creating a black-gray barrier, but at the same time, he saw his body starting to become ground down into dust, causing his scalp to turn numb.

What kind of sinkhole had he entered!?

But abruptly, he saw himself reappear in the real world. Skies and landscapes reflecting in his vision made it clear to him that he was back in the First Haven World and not trapped in the confines between the layers of space.

However, before he could even think of counterattacking, he was suddenly absorbed into a sinkhole again.

Nyx Godwinʼs grandfatherʼs heart sank as he suddenly realized what was going on, but he was too late to stop it.

*Whoosh!!~*

Vortex after vortex, he repeatedly fell into a spatial strangle that disallowed him to react in time nor take out something that could turn the tides.

Moreover, with each sinkhole he entered, his body was continuously being ground into dust. There was nothing he could do about it despite the spatial barrier layered over his body protecting him. It seemed practically non-existent in front of the spatial dust filling the mini-space of the sinkhole.

He kept falling and was tossed around like a rag-doll by the spatial pull constantly catching hold of him, but he had never reached an end, only to appear and disappear in the real world multiple times.

His limbs were gone, half of his body had turned ashen to dust, and even his third leg had disappeared from his body. With half of his stomach and neck practically turned into ash, he was unable to raise his voice either, much less move.

He found himself in the real world once more, but this time, he didnʼt fall straight into a sinkhole but rammed straight into something, causing him to raise his hands only to realize that he didnʼt have any arms in the first place.

”…!”

However, he passed through the obstruction like he was invisible, causing him to crash into the ground miserably, leaving behind a trail of blood as he rolled and came to a stop, breathing heavily as though he was out of breath.

”…”

There were thousands of people standing on the walls with spears. However, they failed to react, not even pointing the spear at the interloper who had appeared there. But a moment later, some of them recognized the one who crashed into the ground as the Fifth Grand Elder of the Godwin Family, causing their minds to reel as they slowly.

They could confirm that he was the Fifth Grand Elder because the region-wide defensive formation of the Godwin Family didnʼt block the entry of those who possessed the blood of the Godwin Family.

However, they shuddered and turned to look at the skies behind the region-wide defensive barrier that could easily stop even a Mid-Stage Immortal Emperor, witnessing a purple-robed woman appear silently, overlooking their walls.

There was no pressure, yet they couldnʼt help but wonder if this woman just sent their Fifth Grand Elder, who had embarked on a giant warring ark to war against the Aurora Cloud Gate back to the Godwin Family like a badly damaged rag doll, causing them to remain frozen as though they didnʼt exist.

”Looks like your fellow Immortal Emperors didnʼt survive the spatial tumbling. Would you like to experience that once again to make sure to understand that you have thoroughly been defeated?”

Nyx Godwinʼs grandfather remained on the ground, gasping for breath. Since he was out of the overwhelming power of the spatial enclosure, his wounds began to mend by themselves. However, he sensed the spatial dust remaining within his body, corrupting his wounds.

”Who are you…? Are you a Guardian of the Aurora Cloud Gate?” He was able to voice out, his tone sounding hoarse and skewed with a bit of fear.

”Hardly.” The purple-robed womanʼs tone became amused, ”Iʼm just one of the Grand Elders of the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Treasury Department, the Void Dust Empress.”

”…!” Nyx Godwinʼs grandfather trembled.

The Void Dust Empress? The being that was said to have surpassed the Immortal Emperor Stage with her prowess three hundred thousand years ago? He remembered having read the ancient records that she was indeed suspected to be part of the Aurora Cloud Gate at that time!

He refused to believe that he had battled with such a being.

Still, even if she was the Void Dust Empress, why hadnʼt she ascended yet!?

Even if she didnʼt ascend, how was she the one to have appeared to welcome them and not the Grand Elders of the Patrol Department that overlooked the security of the entire Domain of the Aurora Cloud Gate!? It didnʼt make any sense to him, causing his mind to reel in disbelief.

”Enjoy your remaining lifespan in a near-crippled state. Even if you manage to recover your body and its function, you will never be able to sense or use Space Laws as much as you did before. That is the poisonous nature of my dust, farewell.”

*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*

Numerous Immortal Emperors began to appear in the airspace of the Godwin Family. However, the purple-robed woman merely let out a mature peal of laughter and disappeared, causing countless faces to turn unsightly. They became even more enraged when they saw the battered body of the Fifth Grand Elder, whose number and seniority were decided by the strength they possessed, causing their expressions to fume while also flickering with a sliver of fear.

”Awaken the Ancestors! Letʼs see how the Aurora Cloud Gate continues to treat our Godwin Family like this!”
