Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2683 Fire Phoenix Clan’s Inheritors

After some time, the two Great Ancestors became sober and left. It was unknown if someone had heard their conversation since they were alone, but they didnʼt care.

The inheritors, who shared a basic amount of respect for each other, also bid farewell.

Soon, the Earth Dragon Clanʼs flying ship soared into the skies and warped out with immense speed, quickly leaving the West Fire Phoenix Prefecture.

”Look at them run like weʼre going to backstab them or something...”

”We may have been allies, but that status quo could change anytime. It couldnʼt be helped.”

Second inheritor Hirona and third inheritor Sierra exchanged a bit of giggle, their huge bosoms visibly shaking under the stuffed expressions of the Grand Elders. The Patriarch also looked at them, blinking before turning to look at Great Ancestor Zenflame who appeared contemplative.

He walked to the two female inheritors and began to discuss with them through soul transmission.

”Respected inheritors, do you two have any opinion on how we should proceed from now on?”

Hirona turned to look at him and cupped her hands.

”First inheritor Zenflame, we respect you to offer any kind of opinion, but if I may so offer, then I think we should not depend on the fourth inheritor and try to bring the Fire Phoenix Clan glory ourselves. If possible, I wouldnʼt want her to get involved as she has yet to live to give birth to a few legacies like us.”

Great Ancestor Zenflame nodded but turned to look at Sierra.

”What does third inheritor think?”

”I donʼt have any objections over the fourth inheritor joining to help us, but I do think that she is way younger than us and deserves to live her life than spend the rest of the ten years cultivating as high as she could. Thatʼs not a good way to go out if she were to die. As the senior sister, I canʼt tolerate such harm befalling my cheery junior sister.”

”True.” Hironaʼs expression became complicated, her brows frowning, ”Unfortunately, she got the short end of the stick by being one of the last inheritors to appear.”

Looking at the two female inheritors sympathizing with the fourth inheritor, Great Ancestor Zenflame couldnʼt help but wryly smile. It seemed that the fourth inheritor was rather good at socializing? He shook his head.

”I wouldnʼt want her to get involved either, especially when the risks of siding with a Divergent are heavy and life-threatening, but what can I do? Our fourth inheritor knew what she was doing and chose to take the inheritance to fulfill the dreams of our Fire Phoenix Clan. Even if we tell her not to come, thereʼs a high chance that she will participate regardless because of her innate morals. Also, did you see the icy woman who was beside Davis being silent all hour long but only opened her mouth once, and that too to only exit?”

”She gave a deadly feeling with her sharp eyes, piercing… almost like she was a sword cultivator.”

”Indeed.” Sierra agreed with Hirona, ”It was as though she was waiting to unsheathe her sword to strike if she sees anything go wrong.”

”Thatʼs right.” Great Ancestor Zenflame gravely nodded, ”Donʼt underestimate her and neither the fourth inheritor. I think theyʼre all very powerful despite their young age, hiding deeply. I donʼt think our and Earth Dragon Clanʼs fourth inheritors appeared in front of us in their soul bodies, afraid that they would get themselves killed in the Aurora Cloud Gate, but because theyʼre hiding their true strength.”

”…”

The three of them went silent, becoming unsure of what to think about the fourth inheritorʼs family. They all had their intuitive senses, and when three of their intuitions were the same, wasnʼt it most likely the case that the fourth inheritorʼs family was extremely strong?

”Nevertheless.” Sierra suddenly spoke out, ”I figure we should strengthen our forces to the fullest as we expend all resources and defend our borders as we raise the security level to the highest level. As for assassins, I set up the formations for the Fire Phoenix Clan, and I can still sense some of it, making me glad to know that theyʼre still being used. Iʼll do the same now and lay deadly traps for assassins.”

”That would be greatly helpful.”

”I agree.”

Great Ancestor Zenflame and Hirona nodded their heads, not expecting the third inheritor to know about formations. That was a pleasant surprise and made them think that kind of capability might come in handy in the Candidacy.

”Aha. Inheritors, I wonder what you three were talking about?”

Suddenly, a person walked to their side. It was none other than Patriarch Killian Zenflame, causing the three of them to smile.

”Not much. Weʼre discussing which direction to take our Fire Phoenix Clan. Be on the offensive side or defensive side.”

Hirona lightly answered while Great Ancestor Zenflame blinked.

”Patriarch, forgive me for not including you from the beginning. Where are my manners?”

”Aha. Thatʼs fine. Thatʼs fine. As three inheritors who have reached the Immortal Emperor Stage once, Iʼm sure you all could see more than me.”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame had a blatant smile on his face as he spoke like he was a subordinate, causing the three inheritors to smile. Just as they thought that at least the Patriarch had the wits to listen to them, their smiles suddenly faded.

”What is the meaning of this?”

Great Ancestor Zenflameʼs expression flickered as he sensed that he was suddenly surrounded by three Immortal Emperors. He looked at their faces as his pupils moved, but one was behind him, leaving him unable to see their faces clearly.

But as soon as he realized that they were there, a mountainous pressure crashed down on him, causing him to become suppressed.

He was unable to move his body nor burst forth with energy.

The two female inheritors also noticed this, their eyes visibly sharpening as they turned to look at Patriarch Killian Zenflame for an explanation.

Patriarch Killian Zenflame still kept a blatant smile on his face. However, it became more eerie and creepy as his lips curled more.

”You said so yourself. I, as the Patriarch, must prioritize the safety and prosperity of the clan rather than giving importance to a single woman or a… man… like you!”
