Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2673 Stolen Inheritors?

Several scarlet-burning comets shot through the air as they made their way to the Earth Dragon Clanʼs flying boat, appearing before them.

The Earth Dragon Clanʼs flying boat had stopped, causing the people inside to come out and greet.

”Zenflame, it really does feel like itʼs been only a few days since we last met.”

Great Ancestor Rocksunder smirked as he cupped his hands towards a red-haired individual. The scarlet flames surrounding him were blazing, possessing an extraordinary aura about them that was more mystical than any flames Great Ancestor Rocksunder had ever seen.

ʼHis nirvanic fire phoenix flames have grown immensely powerful...ʼ

ʼHis physical might is practically invulnerable...ʼ

Great Ancestor Rocksunder mused, but Great Ancestor Zenflame was also the same, noticing that the formerʼs body had grown immensely stronger. The earth dragonʼs majestic and mountainous pressure emerging from him was vastly suffocating than before.

At sight, the both of them measured each other, appearing friendly as they smiled.

The other inheritors also greeted each other, seemingly knowing each other and having their own past interactions.

Indeed, it was not only the two of them who knew each other, as every founder involved in the Candidacy went to sleep in the Heavenly Ice Stasis Valley at the same time for fear of one of the founders taking advantage of their power.

This was because a mysterious voice belonging to neither a man nor a woman told them to go sleep in the Heavenly Ice Stasis Valley if they didnʼt want to wait for longer periods of time until the Candidacy started. Although they were skeptical at first, they eventually agreed upon the time before gathering and entering Heavenly Ice Stasis Valley, making sure nothing was out of place.

After all, it was unknown when the Candidacy would start, and they didnʼt want to waste their prime. Being Immortal Emperors, they stood at the top of the world, and the only thing left for them was to ascend, but they were locked out of such an option.

They could only participate in the Candidacy or choose to die.

However, if they had to wait for such a long period, wouldnʼt that be unfair to them, the first and the subsequent inheritors? Wouldnʼt that mean that the fourth inheritor gets to have an advantage over them in terms of prime while they would be forced to wait here, not even having the chance of ascending?

Thatʼs why they were made stronger as compensation while still retaining their age and lowering their cultivation base. The mysterious voices in their heads were indeed proven true at this moment.

But regretfully, they could even see some fourth inheritors having entered asleep in the Heavenly Ice Stasis Valley. That meant that the last few inheritances had never been found until this period of time, allowing them to understand that perhaps a lot of time had passed.

However, they werenʼt surprised. They knew only after a certain time did the seals on other inheritances naturally became undone and revealed themselves to the world or werenʼt found until a later date as they might be deeply hidden, giving birth to the second inheritor and so on and so forth with delayed differences.

There was a vast period of time frame between the first, second, and third inheritors, although there was a chance that the second, third, and fourth inheritors had the chance to meet. In fact, some of these inheritors had become immortal couples like Crystia and Noctis, leaving behind a legacy for their power.

Nonetheless, they werenʼt fools. They could more or less guess the progression of the events so far. The fact was, the hidden inheritances made it so that everyone was forced to wait for a huge number of years that they werenʼt sure of.

But before asking his elders about how much time couldʼve passed, Great Ancestor Rocksunder shrugged.

”Surely, you are not here just to say a word of greeting.”

”I will get to the point of my visit then.” Great Ancestor Zenflameʼs handsome and alluring smile swept around the Earth Dragon Clanʼs entourage, ”I heard that our fourth inheritor got stolen along with your fourth inheritor, so I had to ask my juniors- oh- seniors to head in the direction you earth dragons left.”

”We donʼt dare demand respect from Great Ancestor Zenflame.”

The Grand Elders of the Fire Phoenix Clan responded while lowering their heads, causing Great Ancestor Zenflame to chuckle. However, there was fondness in his eyes as he was looking at his descendants, making him wonder what their generation was.

He could sense his blood mixed within them if he touched them and focused enough. However, he knew they werenʼt his direct descendants. His sons and daughters shouldʼve already ascended long ago, making him feel rather sorrowful but still proud.

Meanwhile, Great Ancestor Rocksunder raised his brows and turned to look at Patriarch Klavius Rocksunder, wondering what was truly going on.

The rogue that stole their fourth inheritor also stole the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs fourth inheritor? They were perplexed but also astonished to think who exactly could accomplish such a thing, making intimate relations with candidates of two different powers.

Before they could think if that man was a player, they wondered if he was crazy! After all, it was unknown what kind of event the Candidacy was, but most probably, they could tell that the candidates were bound to fight, perhaps even kill each other when the time came.

At that time, which of the two would he choose? Or would he even forgive one of them for killing the other? That was just a path taken straight to destruction.

Thatʼs why none of the inheritors went after the inheritors of other power in a romantic sense. If anything, they tried to ruin or disgrace other inheritors by tricking them. Such a few stories had circulated around at their time, so they wondered if it was the same now, causing them to feel angered.

”Indeed. That man who stole our inheritors is called Davis Alstreim, and he is undoubtedly a Divergent.”

”A Divergent?” Great Ancestor Rocksunder became stunned before he nodded,” No wonder.”

”Is he evil?” Crystiaʼs golden eyes became frosty.

”Heʼs called the Emperor of Death.” Patriarch Killian Zenflame quickly interjected, speaking for the first time in their presence.

His words caused the eyes of the inheritors to widen.

”Someone who could control Death Laws and is a Divergent.” Noctis held his chin, seemingly deep in thought, ”Surely, he must be insane. But then, how did those two inheritors fall for such a person? Could it be that he brainwashed them?”

”Yes.”

”No.”

”...?”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame and Patriarch Klavius Rocksunder spoke at the same time, causing the inheritors to become taken aback before narrowing their eyes.

It seemed that there were... conflicting opinions here?
