Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2682 Reminiscing Over A Drink

After the two flying ships left the Aurora Cloud Gate, they arrived at the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Western Prefecture beside the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Domain. Great Ancestor Zenflame and Great Ancestor Rocksunder alighted for a moment and had a drink on top of a mountain peak as though revisiting old times.

”What do you think?

During their reminiscing session, Great Ancestor Zenflame couldnʼt help but bring up the topic.

”Him or the beautiful inheritors?”

”Of course, him. You know Iʼm not interested in married women.”

”Right.” Great Ancestor Zenflame chuckled before he gulped a jug of wine into his throat, smashing the jug on top of the table as he heaved a raspy breath.

”Heʼs unbelievably powerful. Iʼve fought thousands of battles with my life on the line, and my ability to sense physical danger is off the charts, but this one sure gives me an immense sense of danger when I secretly suppressed my body cultivation base to his level. Moreover, his body language also didnʼt seem nervous when he was beside us, not at all afraid of a quick move to finish him off, although it was awkward, perhaps because I told him Iʼll send a love letter.”

”Young Emperor of Death, huh...” Great Ancestor Zenflame totally ignored the humor at the end and appeared solemn and contemplative, ”He didnʼt appear insane and possessed immense patience for a Divergent. Did the Divine Saintess train him or something?”

”How can it be?” Great Ancestor Rocksunder gawked as he raised his hands, ”Itʼs said that he just ascended to this world.”

”Thatʼs right. I donʼt understand that side of him. Normally, when pushed to that end and chased to the Aurora Cloud Gate, itʼs normal to possess immense hatred against us, right?”

”Perhaps, heʼs seen a lot already and chose to compromise due to the difference in powers?”

”He wouldnʼt forgive our clans, but he also wouldnʼt stop his women from doing the rightful thing, which ultimately benefits us in the end.” Great Ancestor Zenflame spread his hands, looking as though he was going to cry, ”Make that make sense.”

”…” Great Ancestor Rocksunder simply shrugged, raising another jug to his mouth.

”Thatʼs why I think heʼs an enigma. He understands Death Laws but acts like he possesses Life Laws- no, itʼs almost a mix between the two, knowing when to put that foot in place and knowing when to take it back. I know this must be the teachings of Divine Saintess for a fact.”

Great Ancestor Zenflame clenched his fist, but Great Ancestor Rocksunder appeared drunk as he roared.

”Who cares? As long he cooperates with us, I donʼt see a reason to doubt him. Everything will become clear in the celebration a month later when we three would sign a Blood Soul Contract to stop the infighting once and for all.”

”I hope that he doesnʼt change his mind. On that note, we should restrict our powers from making a move as well. These young… old foggies donʼt seem to appreciate our actions.”

”Aha~ Thatʼs true. However, my Patriarch is levelheaded, unlike yours. This time, youʼre also out of luck.”

”Damn you, lizard. Shut the fuck up.”

”Ahahaha.”

Great Ancestor Rocksunder clenched his stomach and boisterously laughed, causing Great Ancestor Zenflameʼs expression to twitch, raising his fist to burn this guy alive. However, his next words caused his heart to shudder.

”Do you think your daughter is doing fine in the immortal world? Is she still waiting for me?”

”Gosh, sheʼs your wife already, and stop crying.”

”What… I want to see her badly so much. I want to see all of my wives… wahh!”

”Fuck, I told you not to get drunk.”

Great Ancestor Zenflame looked at Great Ancestor Rocksunderʼs control over his emotions left his soul, causing him to palm his own forehead in headache.

Still, he couldnʼt help but remember the things that happened back then.

At that time, relations between clans would be forbidden because of the unknown nature of Candidacy, but his daughter and Rocksunder still fell in love with each other.

At that time, it was a taboo act declared by every power involved in the Candidacy.

He was furious beyond compare and broke into the Earth Dragon Clan, burning- no, or so he wished he did but relented for his daughter and warned Rocksunder that he would burn his dick and cremate him into ashes if anything were to happen to his daughter.

In record, his daughter died in a cultivation adventure, but in reality, she was taken away by Great Ancestor Rocksunder to a secluded location.

That was how their illegal and secretive relationship as in-laws began, but the world had no idea of it. At that time, they didnʼt dare expose this scandal as they didnʼt want her to be shamed, nor did they think that people should follow her example when things were so dangerous. Now, the two of them looked like they couldnʼt give a crap about it, screaming and crying out loud while drunk as they felt extremely lonely.

Their entire family of direct descendants ascended, and their life and death were unknown, not to mention millions of years had gone by, and yet, they had to look forward to the Candidacy. It was one of the most ridiculous things that they had ever signed up for that, causing them to see their silhouettes in Shirley and Isabella, choosing a loved one over rules like them.

Thatʼs why they were also appreciative of them and Davis.

However, the most ridiculous thing in this matter was…

”Your son… my grandchild… heʼs the Azure Dragon, right?”

”…”

Great Ancestor Zenflame hesitantly asked, causing Great Ancestor Rocksunderʼs eyes to tremble greatly before he wryly smiled.

”Your asking this after millions of years has gone by?”

Great Ancestor Zenflameʼs expression turned complicated.

He had a talented fey daughter who fell in love with a human with the purest earth dragon blood, and born from that union was not a phoenix or a dragon but a dragon-phoenix whose body mutated and transcended into an Azure Dragon with phoenix blood.

Such a combination he didnʼt even figure out at first glance before, but as he saw the clues slowly, he was almost convinced, but by then, it was already time for them to head to the Heavenly Ice Stasis Valley to hibernate.

However, now he knew that his grandsonʼs power was so great that he didnʼt even have to reveal his phoenix blood to rule the world and have his name resound in heaven and earth. If he had done so, Great Ancestor Zenflame felt like he couldʼve made the connection way earlier, but what use was it when his grandchild was too arrogant and overbearing to even treat his father like shit?

Rumor had it that the Azure Dragon beat up Rocksunder because of sending Saintess Lunaria gifts. At that time, he laughed it off, thinking that Rocksunder deserved it, but now, he could tell that the Azure Dragon was an ungrateful child whose overbearingness strained the relationship between father and son.

This was all ridiculous when he considered all three of them were infatuated with the same woman, but instead of competing fair and square, his grandson went and beat up his son-in-law, which was what made the Azure Dragon, his grandson, establish a new power for himself.

This was a matter of complete humiliation for Rocksunder, and now, it seemed like he no longer had the will to compete for Saintess Lunaria because that matter had cast a shadow over his heart.

Not only had his grandson been severely protective of the Saintess, he even killed anyone who got the slightest bit close to her, maintaining a kind of monopoly over her, so everyone thought it was over and didnʼt make a move anymore but to think that Saintess Lunaria was still here...

He wondered what this meant and the impact that it had on the world after they left for the Heavenly Ice Stasis Valley.

If Saintess Lunaria hadnʼt married his grandson, then what exactly happened? What kind of pact did they exchange for peace?

He couldnʼt understand anything.
