Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2659 Wrapping Up

Davis looked at Yi Feng once again, deciding that it wasnʼt worth staining his hand to suspect him any further. With what he heard in Yi Fengʼs soul sea and Nadia, even if the reality was hard to accept, he must force it down his throat.

”Donʼt do anything stupid.”

He warned Yi Feng and let go of him, returning to Tanya, Myria, and Stella Voidfield, checking on their injuries.

Only Stella Voidfield seemed weak, gasping for breath as she stayed reclined over the icy wall, but as for Myria and Tanya, they were seated in a lotus position and began to recover using their energies. Frost covered their bodies, but with each circulation, he could see it dissolve from the surface, revealing their fair skin.

Placing his hand on Tanyaʼs forehead, his soul sense penetrated her soul sea.

Her brows flickered ever so lightly, but other than that, Tanya portrayed no resistance. If she did, he would either get sent flying like a kite that had its strings cut or die.

Tanya was an Immortal King with prowess as high as an Immortal King True Disciple, after all.

Still, he quickly dwelled into her soul sea and checked if everything was fine. It was unknown what kind of attack the Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiend unleashed on her. It was both formless and possessed the properties of ice, so he was worried that it did something to her.

However, as far as he could see, even while using Fallen Heavenʼs karmic energy over his senses, there was nothing of concern.

It seemed her icy-silver sword, which was at Immortal Emperor Grade, nicely blocked the attack for her. If Tanya hadnʼt used it right, even if she had survived, Myria wouldnʼt have survived. It was a blessing in disguise that Tanya took the impact for her. Nonetheless, he obviously couldnʼt force in Myriaʼs soul sea as he did for Tanya, so he inwardly sighed and left her alone, going to Stella Voidfield.

If Myria needed him, she would call him.

”Are you fine?”

Stella Voidfield had a dazed look on her face, seemingly absent-minded. However, once she heard his voice, her lips lightly curled as she raised one of her hands, giving a thumbs up to him, causing him to chuckle and shake his head.

”Is this your true body?”

”This is my fleshly body created from my true body. It is similar and… possesses ninety percent of the true bodyʼs power. But of course, the essence required to make this body alone would cost me a fortune that I donʼt think I can make another anytime soon if I lose it, so I think Iʼll take some rest and get back to health.”

Stella Voidfield appeared drunk. Obviously, she was feeling exhausted, but Davis couldnʼt help but lower his knee and take her hand.

”You were awesome back there, Stella. The way you captured my hand and demanded that I believe you, sigh… I almost fell for you.”

”You-”

Stella Voidfield came out of her reverie and looked at him, her cheeks blushing behind her veil. However, feeling a surge of life energy seeping through her hand and entering her body, reviving her health, she couldnʼt help but cast a complicated glance at him before she looked away.

”Hmph!”

Davis simply chuckled at her cute visage- no, it was no longer just cute but also alluring.

ʼAlright… sheʼs no longer a mere teenager...ʼ

He felt that he must change the way he behaved with her. Still, he was incredibly grateful to her as she had saved them from the spacequakeʼs maws.

If he had broken the life-saving spatial talisman, then he would more likely be brought them all to another desperate situation. Fortunately, Stella Voidfield knew how to counter a spacequakeʼs advent. Although it was unexpected, it only made him feel more impressed with her.

After some time of healing Stella Voidfield secretly, Davis then asked Myria if she wanted some help, but she declined, causing him to look at Tanya. His life energy was of no use to her since his energy didnʼt reach her level. Therefore, he looked around and started investigating the ruins and double-confirmed that the heart of the Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiend was basically inactive now.

He figured that it spent all its energy returning to slumber and perhaps would only awaken tens and thousands of years later. However, Davis had no thought of allowing it to live that long. Although he was aware that he could do nothing to it at the moment, he was going to retrieve its carcass for himself and his people as soon as he entered the Immortal Emperor Stage.

At this moment, the disciples who had run away after witnessing the spacequake came back, looking to be immensely curious as they roamed around the hive but mostly glanced at him. They also harassed poor Yi Feng, wondering where he came from before Waine Might emerged and took him as his little brother.

Because they both were rather simple, they hit it off perfectly well.

”Congratulations, Emperor of Death. Your group has successfully managed to avert a disaster and complete the mission. This is a big achievement!”

Olas Windfall appeared before him and praised, causing Davis to return a smile.

”Ah, I did almost nothing. It was all thanks to my Tanya and these two beauties. If they hadnʼt managed to build a pathway and diffuse the Ice Essence Orbs, then regardless of the spacequake, the entire region would be blown apart and covered in ice.”

”…”

Myria raised one of her eyes at him. Who was he kidding? At the last moment, the Unfettered Ice Fiend that could manually explode the Ice Essence Orbs was hiding within. However, it suddenly stopped moving, allowing her to blast it, which made her doubt if that was his doing all along.

She could only think that he had used that apex treasure, which also made sense when the sudden appearance of a natural disaster was taken into account. The spacequake this time was too bizarre as not only was it too coincidental, but it also left behind a mortal with the aura of mortal air still on him.

”Haha.” Olas Windfall laughed, ”You are too humble. I watched you from the rear, and I could very well tell that even those Unfettered Ice Fiends had been afraid of you. At that moment, I was so envious that I wanted to learn Death Laws despite the countless headaches that come with it.”

”It is not all roses for any power as thorns naturally grow and stab you from cultivation deviation, giving you the real headache. What others think is not a concern as long as you could act true to your heart.”

Davis said, causing Olas Windfallʼs eyes to flicker before he heavily nodded.

”Well said.”

Abruptly, a ray of lunar light flashed, and Rea Tyriel appeared beside them, along with Black Tyriel standing on her shoulder, high and majestic, as it raised its black-white wings.

Despite being sent to an unknown location, both of them appeared fine, seemingly looking around.

”I donʼt know what happened here as I had just come from above, but it seems like you people took care of it. What a pity...” Rea Tyriel sighed, seemingly lamenting missing out on the action.

”Wait.” Davisʼs brows twitched in response, ”You were sent back to the surface?”

Rea Tyriel unceremoniously nodded, looking as proud as a swan.

Davis became stumped before he couldnʼt help but wryly shake his head, ”Gosh, what kind of luck do you have?”

Not only did she was sent above the surface, but she also was not in any danger at all. Her karmic virtue was no more than on the first level as far as he had seen, but her luck was beyond compare.

”I told you.” Rea Tyriel smiled with pride, ”Iʼm the Young Mistress of the Tyriel Family and one of the inheritors of the Lunar Crow Clan, so almost half of the karmic luck from both powers has accumulated in its lifetime is focused upon me. To defeat me is already a task that only a few are capable of but to kill or attain me is a mountainous task that surpasses even the likes of anyone ascending.”

”Would that be the same case for Nyx Godwin?”

Davis raised his brows at her bragging figure, causing Rea Tyriel to suddenly blink.

”Well… yes. Hoho, did you find him unpleasant?” She giggled before leaning a bit and smiling secretively.

Her countenance appeared highly seductive, especially with her cleavage visible to Davis.

”I know speaking behind someoneʼs back isnʼt worthy of a fairy like me, but I have to say... He has probably set his sights on Fairy Myria already, so be careful, or else he might take her away from you.”

”Yeah, I know.” Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle.

However, seeming him be lax about it, Rea Tyriel frowned. Was her warning not audible enough? She knew the number of women who have had secret relationships with Nyx Godwin numbered in the hundreds. She even personally knew a few true disciples in the Aurora Cloud Gate who were unable to resist his looks and power and ended up sleeping with him.

However, despite their power, those women seemed unworthy of his commitment and attention. Although it wasnʼt like he threw them away, they couldnʼt do anything about it, anything other than lament, because he wouldnʼt bother about them much like a true man would in her perspective.

After all, if she became his and they ascended together, wouldnʼt he look for women who are far more powerful than her and possess extraordinary status?

If it was just that, she would be fine with it as she knew what most men were truly like while watching the men in her family, but if he didnʼt pay attention and provide care, then in her perspective, that was a scum.

Thatʼs why she didnʼt even look at Nyx Godwin as a potential partner despite his power and status. Thatʼs why she also held a doubtful look when a powerful Divergent like the Emperor of Death, known to be alone because of their fate of dying to heavenly tribulation and not to mention craving solitude because of practicing Death Laws, declared that he would love his wives was extremely unlikely.

”By the way, do you know how strong the Godwin Family is? Even an approximate valuation from your eyes is enough.”
