Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2663 Stepping Into A Warzone

”If itʼs Nyx Godwinʼs corpse, then I have it with me, completely intact.” Myria declared in an indifferent voice.

”Woah~~~”

The crowd turned into an uproar. Not only had she killed Nyx Godwin, but his corpse was intact? What kind of killing blow had she dealt him?

”What are you doing?”

Davisʼs eyes turned wide as he asked Mystic Diviner Hailac. He was stunned to see her volunteer for their mess, which was very dangerous. This was not a simple case of proving who was innocent. It was basically a war between two hegemonic powers of the First Haven World.

Myria had killed the Godwin Familyʼs lifeline. There would exist no peace between them unless one dies.

For Mystic Diviner Hailac to interfere in this issue, she was nothing but courting death.

Mystic Divinerʼs pupil-less eyes were serene as a calm lake. However, there was deep emotion on her face that betrayed her composure.

”Fairy Myria saved us all. This is an undeniable fact. If so, I canʼt just watch this happen, can I? I owe my life to her. Besides, I saw how quickly you two came back to the hive after crushing the spatial talisman. Thereʼs no way that Fairy Myria wouldʼve done this on purpose, much less quickly able to concentrate on diffusing the source soon after coming back.”

Her voice became slightly emotional, causing Davis to why this woman was like this. Couldnʼt she just stay indifferent like the others?

”You two were together? As expected of a Divergentʼs influence. It was no wonder she managed to kill him.”

The brown-robed elder couldnʼt help but nod his head, finally understanding the crux of the issue. With Divergent present in the scene, even if your luck defies the heavens, you would still come under the influence of Divergentʼs accursed fate. There was no telling what would happen in that case.

”Yes, I was there.”

Davis didnʼt deny, taking the circumstantial blame on himself to protect Myriaʼs Divergent identity. However, he continued.

”However, youʼre wrong. If I had been there by her side half a minute earlier, I wouldʼve been a bit smarter about it and simply made Nyx Godwin a complete retard. Unfortunately, I was late. But see, I wouldnʼt have broken the rules this way, right?”

The brown-robed elderʼs expression twitched. Nonetheless, he turned to look at Mystic Diviner Hailac, his mouth heaving a sigh.

”Thatʼs a viable method too, but itʼs not reliable as you could destroy the corpse if you failed, which would serve as evidence of the brutality involved. As a result, you would inevitably offend the Godwin Family.”

The brown-robed elder knew that it would be too late to divine if they brought the corpse totally out of the place of death. The closer the place of death was, the better the circumstances of their death would be revealed.

”I have the utmost confidence in my ability.” Mystic Diviner Hailac responded.

”Then are you willing to take responsibility?”

Not only will she be implicated, causing the Godwin Family to be after her, but she will also draw the ire of the Aurora Cloud Gate for needlessly interfering in their law enforcement procedure. Perhaps, she could be exiled.

At that time, just who would protect her?

”I do…” Mystic Diviner Hailacʼs expression churned. However, realizing that her voice was meek, she took a deep breath and echoed out.

”I accept responsibility!”

Hearing her speak loudly, the brown-robed elder blinked once, thinking a bit before nodding his head.

Mystic Diviner Hailac heaved out a breath as she turned to look at Myria.

”Fairy Myria, are you truly alright with this divination?”

”Why not? Go ahead.”

Myria appeared intrigued as she looked deeply at Mystic Diviner Hailac. In this world where ingratitude prevails and backstabbing flourishes, there was actually someone willing to help her? And it was a cunning diviner at that?

She couldnʼt help but glance at Davis from the corner of her eyes.

Mystic Diviner heaved a breath once again. It could be seen that she was actually under immense pressure, but she looked determined.

Then, she actually looked toward Davis and Ellia, seemingly wanting their input. However, seeing the both of them nod their heads, she felt slightly helpless. She wanted to clear Myriaʼs name, but if she revealed anything scandalous while revealing the evidence, she was afraid that it would become her fault.

After all, Fairy Myria claimed that Nyx Godwinʼs corpse was intact. That could only mean she had managed to kill Nyx Godwin when he was vulnerable, which meant he would be close to her, letting his guard down.

She knew how important it was to keep oneʼs mind clear of shame. It was literally the cause of many law hearts of female disciples collapsing or their driving force to take revenge. However, the former has a more chance of occurring than the latter. She didnʼt want Fairy Myria to experience such a thing.

But since they all nodded, she took a step forward and appeared before Myria.

Myria took out Nyx Godwinʼs corpse, causing gasps and sighs to echo.

As they saw Nyx Godwinʼs body lay lifeless, they saw that he was indeed dead. Such a strong individual whom they thought was invincible was actually dead that only after they witnessed this did they get rid of the conspiracies in their heads.

*Thud!~*

Nonetheless, Mystic Diviner Hailac paid no respect and directly kicked the corpse to the side, bringing it to the center before casting a karmic technique filled with the intricacies of time and space.

”…”

Everyone watched her actions with dread in their eyes. Wasnʼt she too disrespectful? Looks like she had resigned herself to offending the Godwin Family.

Davis was also unable to believe his eyes.

Nonetheless, he knew that for one to be a Mystic Diviner, it required three Laws to be learned. With Karma Laws being the main driving force and Time Laws and Space Laws playing a supporting role with their insights, it allowed Mystic Diviners to see past and present alike. Although, depending on their capability, it ranged from a minuscule clue to a whole set of life-like projections.

However, before Mystic Diviner Hailac could fully start, someone placed a hand back on her back, causing her to flinch and turn. But she only saw Tia behind her, a soul transmission falling on her head.

”Iʼll protect you.”

Mystic Diviner Hailac couldnʼt help but blink.

Davis nodded his head again.

Myria was an Anarchic Divergent, but Mystic Diviner Hailac didnʼt know of it. If she divined anything related to Anarchic Divergents at this weak moment, she would definitely die. The only way to protect her was to have Tia guard her with her Karmic Guardian Physique.

Davis remembered that Tia would also be considered a Divergent if she had actually failed her heavenly tribulation. The heavens seem to have mixed feelings over how to treat this physique for some reason, not that he cared since it was beneficial for him and good for Tia.

Just as he watched the both of them perform divination with immense focus, his eyes couldnʼt help but abruptly narrow.

*Bzzz!~*

At this moment, a silent force emerged from the void, nearing Nyx Godwinʼs corpse in an instant.

*Bang!~*

? Everyone couldnʼt help but look at the location of the corpse where smoke filled the place, causing their eyes to widen in shock!

Did someone just try to get rid of the evidence!?
