Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2643 Disparity

”Warghh!”

The Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends roared in anger, following him in a bid to stab him into full of holes. Ice energy burst forth from their bodies as they glided toward wherever they saw a purple-robed human dancing amidst them, disappearing and appearing.

Because all their gazes were connected, they didnʼt miss him at all, quickly catching up to him.

”Heaven Cleaving Abyss!”

*Ripp!~*

? However, a pitch-black wave of ominous energy cut through the air again, cleaving apart many Unfettered Ice Fiends. Blood didnʼt even spurt as the death energy extinguished their lives, but still, the Level Four Immortal King Stage Unfettered Ice Fiends received the brunt of his technique again, causing their claws to break.

But still, it wasnʼt enough to kill them, causing Davis to frown. If this kept up, the number of Level Four Immortal King Stage Unfettered Ice Fiends would overwhelm him sooner or later. Moreover, there was a limit to how focused he could be in using the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps when executing other techniques, causing him to be at a higher risk of vulnerability or making a mistake.

He was already a few steps ahead in thinking about what he should do before nearing his target, but that linear line was becoming increasingly vague right before his eyes, making him frown.

”…?”

However, just as he considered whether to retreat or not, he saw a few Level Four Unfettered Ice Fiends become stiff. His eyes squinted, thinking that they were going to unleash some horrendous move at him, perhaps self-destruct, but he abruptly saw them fall down instead.

”This is…”

”Warghh!!!”

The Unfettered Ice Fiends surrounding Davis abruptly turned their heads towards the entrance and screamed their lungs out into the distance. All that pressure descended on a single woman, causing her to shudder before she shook like she was going to fall, but a wave of undulations emerged from the side, shielding her.

”Honestly… do people ever stop courting death?”

Myriaʼs voice echoed with some amusement as she shook her head while glancing at Mystic Diviner Hailac. Her nose was bleeding, her eyes bloodshot, and her body was shuddering greatly. Clearly, she had overdrafted her soul force and also the other two energies to be able to kill a few Level Four Immortal King Stage Unfettered Ice Fiends.

She was able to do it thanks to the blood she got from the first carcass she ever obtained in the Mercurial Ice Blitz Valley, one that almost killed her but was killed by Nadia instead.

Without it, she wouldnʼt have been able to perform a karmic attack like she did last time. However, it was not up to par considering the difference in levels, not to mention that her actions had consequences.

”Here they come!”

*Bzzz!~*

A massive number of undulations erupted from the five hundred true disciples, having gathered from the Aurora Cloud Gate, crashing down on the army of Unfettered Ice Fiends that were enraged and provoked by Mystic Diviner Hailacʼs karmic attack. Clearly, they were extremely wary of her because if she got the main body by accident, she could instantly kill ten thousand of them at once.

Her threat was huge to them, but little did they know that she could even no longer stand properly. They were no longer tolerating her existence.

”That woman…”

Davis sighed from the distance. What Mystic Diviner Hailac did greatly reduced the aggravation on him, but as a result, countless Unfettered Ice Fiends directed their attention at her, causing her to be in grave danger.

However, glancing at the person in front of her and hundreds of true disciples launching numerous attacks, his lips lightly curled in derision before he launched himself further deep into the hive.

*Bang!~*

Huge water waves struck the Unfettered Ice Fiends, trying to wash them over and slow them down. The true disciple ranked twenty-second, Jei Sealan of the Sea Race, spread out his hands and summoned an oceanʼs worth of water, causing the icy space to be besieged by a tsunami.

At the same time, black lightning filled the area as they struck down the one giant wave, causing many Unfettered Ice Fiends to be electrocuted. Since their bodies were ice-attributed, they took extreme damage, enough to have their souls freeze into giving no response.

The Obsidian Lightning Kirin, billowing above with a huge body, grinned like a fool as it saw its attack clear out a lot of Level Three Unfettered Ice Fiends.

*Boom!~*

A huge boulder struck an Unfettered Ice Fiend, causing it to be squashed into a meat paste. The next moment, a giant shining in a red hue punched out, causing continuous explosions to occur. No matter which direction he punched at, there would always be an Unfettered Ice Fiend that would end up as causality in a few hits. Their shoulders, arms, and legs exploded even if they were dead in a single hit.

”Ahahaha! Come! Come get more!”

He wreaked utter havoc in the left front. However, he was quickly finding himself being overwhelmed when a wind blade emerged and cut down Unfettered Ice Fiends, causing the pressure on him to reduce.

”Go crazy, buddy! Iʼll watch your back!” Olas Windfall shouted to Waine Might, causing him to roar in delight as his explosive power strengthened even more as he forwent power reserved for defense.

It seemed that they had a good relationship to be trusting each otherʼs back, or perhaps, Waine Might was just a simpleton from the Stone Race.

*Whizzz!~*

More attacks fell on the left front as many disciples arrived. As for the right front, Seylin Blizzara, Kayla Frostrose, Flamerose, and many other disciples made a barricade of ice and fire, stopping the Unfettered Ice Fiends from overwhelming them as they chipped them off one by one.

The true disciples unanimously split into three directions as the front guarded the support located on the rear, and the attackers joined the left and right front. They had no advanced knowledge in regards to strategy, but they had the basic common sense to hold the line as they tried to kill the Unfettered Ice Fiends on all three fronts and rake in contribution points in a steady manner.

The Soaring Dragon Alliance, Supreme Kirin Alliance, the Everlasting Phoenix Alliance, and other lesser-ranked alliances like the Dawnstar Alliance, Lunar Tempest Alliance, and Cyan Riverstream Alliance all joined hands at this moment to defend the line.

Still, it was not at the forefront as it was taken by the top five disciples present here. On the other hand, the Emperor of Death was simply a menace in the eyes of everyone present as he held out on his own, causing havoc and chaos in the Unfettered Ice Fiendsʼ ranks.

If it were not for him, they knew they would be on the receiving end of more pressure that might capsize their defenses.

However…

”Watch out! A Level Four ignored us and rushed past our defenses!”

The Unfettered Ice Fiends gave little attention to them, mostly intent on killing Mystic Diviner Hailac. The latter shook, feeling frightened, but as she tried to retreat, her legs gave out, causing her to fall butt-flat on the icy surface.

It seared her butt as she was extremely low on energy, but despite the pain, the fear overwhelming her body was more as she saw the Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiend making its way towards her, brandishing its six icy spears as it launched at her.

*Whizz!~*

The air whistled as six spears flew in a hexagonal array, almost as though increasing their powers beyond the limit. However, as soon as the ice spears neared, they were suddenly erased out of existence from the spearʼs blade all the way to the rod.

Mystic Diviner Hailacʼs expression froze as she watched this scene with incredulity. But the threat still remained, causing her to force herself to stand up when her eyes went wide, looking at the Level Four Unfettered Ice Fiend that entered the narrow tunnel to evaporate into nothingness.

”…!”

Mystic Diviner Hailac and the other true disciples who stayed here as support became absolutely dumbfounded. To their confusion, three more Level Four Unfettered Ice Fiends that had broken past the defense line also met the same fate, appearing to die without even being able to raise their voice.

”Spirit Formation: Light Regalia Killing Formation.”

Suddenly, a melodious voice echoed out, causing them to turn to look at Myriaʼs back.

A few flashes of light flipped through space before disappearing. The knowledgeable ones could quickly tell that was the light of a formation completely solidifying.

Because Myria did nothing other than standing before them all, they never suspected her of killing those Level Four Immortal King Unfettered Ice Fiends, but now, they were stunned to hear that it was a spirit formation from her mouth.

But… when the hell did she set it up right under their noses!?

More than that, how could she have learned a Spirit Formation thatʼs so powerful!?

Numerous questions popped up in their heads, making them wonder what kind of existence she was.

She didnʼt give the vibes of a Divergent from what they had seen so far, but since she was known to be on the same island as the Emperor of Death and was said to have appeared together with him, they wondered what kind of relationship she had with him.

”Now then… time for me to step out.”

Myria merely uttered her intent before stepping out. Like Davis also had his target, she also had one, her eyes focusing on the vent at the epicenter of the hive, brimming with the notorious icy wind that froze people to death.
