Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2599 Bloody Tunnel

”You-!”

Jasuʼs scalp turned numb as he flailed against Davis. His gaseous, poisonous fist tried to reach Davisʼs head. However, since it didnʼt reach Davis, it disconnected from his body and blasted Davisʼs face.

Davis simply moved his head to the side from the impact before looking back, still holding Jasuʼs gaseous face in his grasp. His soul force was wound into a dragon claw that held Jasuʼs face in place, and naturally, the latterʼs body was unable to separate from the neck. An invisible force still held onto his phasing body, leaving him trapped in Davisʼs grasp.

It was such a weird distinction for a human but for spirits, this was completely normal as their bodies were able to warp and phase as they pleased. But still, Davis began to clench his fist, his pure physical prowess weighing down like a boulder, and started to crush Jasuʼs head.

”Bastard!!! Iʼm practically poison!!! How are you still holding onto me!? Have you lost your mind!?”

Jasu kept his offense without stopping.

Despite being hit with repeated poison blasts at point-blank range, Jasu saw Davis still hold onto him. His panicked demeanor completely turned crazy as he began to self-destruct. He knew that if he delayed any longer, he could be crushed to death. However, before he could take the next step, his head exploded into a bloody mess, and his gaseous body returned to flesh, seeping out with flesh.

*Thud!~*

He dropped to the ground, his head missing. As for his life, he couldnʼt be anymore dead. Even his soul was snuffed out with that kind of soul force restriction Davis placed on Jase with his palm.

How powerful was his Soul Forging Cultivation?

It was at Level Seven Immortal Stage, and its prowess a mindboggling eight levels higher at the very least. Even without using death energy, just his physical prowess that was at Level Four Immortal Stage was enough to squash these people. His bodily might was already at Immortal King level, and if he tried a bit harder, it was completely easy for him to reach Level Two Immortal King Stage in might with his body alone.

These immortals were simply children in front of him, and the same thing went for the magical beast before him.

”You shouldʼve died in pain. Who told you to revive?”

*Pahh!*

Davis appeared before the stunned Egon Zenflame, who had almost revived before he was sent flying with a slap, crashing into the icy wall before sliding off with his blood painted all over.

The sheer force of the slap was... not so strong, allowing Egon Zenflame to survive, but his revived phoenix body was already injured. His giant figure that crashed into an icy wall slowly stood up, wobbling as though he couldnʼt keep his senses straight. However, there was not much space to maneuver with his giant body in the first place, causing him to go crash into the other side.

”Wait... we... we could talk this through...!”

Holding his head through his wings, he reached out his other wings to Davis, telling him to stop.

”Oh?” Davisʼs face was expressionless as he neared Egon Zenflame.

Their figures were utterly differentiable, yet the big one was trembling before the small one. It appeared comical, but only Egon Zenflame knew the dread swelling in his heart. Just a vague sweep told him that no one around him was alive. The entirety of the group he brought was dead, making him painstakingly understand that there was little chance that he was going to leave alive. Even then, he couldnʼt help but want to hold onto that light.

”How would we talk this through?”

Davis waved his hand and gestured at the slaughter he engaged in. There were a lot of people who didnʼt deserve to die werenʼt there but since they tagged with Egon Zenflame, that basically cast them the death sentence, especially when they went out of their way to mock him.

Nonetheless, if this got out, he knew he was being exiled out of the Aurora Cloud Gate at the very least.

”I... Iʼll remain quiet about this matter, and I could attest that Rai Zenflame poisoned your wedding dinner... You could kill him... heʼs the one who offended you. Not me...”

Egon Zenflame trembled in front of Davis as he tried to talk his way out of this situation. Never did he imagine that this monster would behave this erratically when he portrayed himself to be reasonable, knowing when to hold back.

He didnʼt fall for any provocation, but here in this tunnel, where many others were present, he quickly turned into a demon and killed them all off. This was a matter that was greatly concerning, and he felt like he should inform the Fire Phoenix Clan of this no matter what, but first things were first. He had to get out of this situation.

Davis lightly smiled as he felt that Rai Zenflame was indeed the one behind the poisoning incident. However, he couldnʼt help but narrow his brows at Egon Zenflame.

”So youʼre willing to issue a false statement to stab him in the back?”

”False...?” Egon Zenflameʼs heart shook, ”No, thatʼs not false.”

However, Davis still had his frown, ”Do you know if he was the one who poisoned Mingzhiʼs food or not?”

”This... he is...”

”Lies. The answer is you donʼt know. Not only are you a scum, but you are also useless.”

Davis shook his head and turned around, ”Die.”

Tia could only see Davisʼs sleeves flick as he turned around, but the next moment, she saw Egon Zenflameʼs giant phoenix head burst apart into a fountain of blood. His tall phoenix body fell all the way to the other side of the wall, splashing blood from his neck all over it.

Even Nadia was who hidden disdained to drink this fresh source of blood, but she sure did start to collect them to gift it to Mira and Freya.

But at this moment, a burst of scarlet flames again lit up on Egon Zenflameʼs headless body.

Davisʼs pupils dilated as he witnessed this scene.

A second rebirth from the ashes?

ʼImpossible... thatʼs only a feat possible by King-Tier-ʼ

Halfway through, he glanced to the side and saw a half-crushed crimson-robed woman touching Egon Zenflameʼs lifeless body. Tears filled her eyes, but she had her hands stretched out, imbuing her species technique on him.

Davis was shocked. It was unexpected that this pure-blooded fey could also use the revival technique, but it meant she had a fire phoenix soul imbued inside her. As expected, she was also not an ordinary character in the Fire Phoenix Clan who just decided to come to Aurora Cloud Gate for no reason. However...

”Is that really worth it...? He didnʼt shed a tear for you nor even look your way when he first revived, so wouldnʼt it better to revive yourself instead?”

Davis couldnʼt help but ask her, but there was no reply. She silently cried, and her life simply scattered into the wind. Perhaps, it wasnʼt that she didnʼt talk but she was gravely injured that her organs were probably crushed, including her lungs, leaving her unable to talk, not to mention that she was too focused on another matter to talk.

But due to her actions, Egon Zenflameʼs headless body began to reconstruct and resuscitate as his head grew anew.

”The Fire Phoenix. Such a magnificent and selfless being, yet why do we have to fight?”f𝚛𝐞𝚎𝘄𝒆𝚋𝐧𝚘ѵ𝑒𝚕.𝑐𝘰𝚖

Davis remembered Flamerose and even Ancestor Cornelia. They were all wonderful women, and just by this womanʼs sacrificial nature, he could tell she wholeheartedly loved Egon Zenflame as well. However, were women the only good beings in the Fire Phoenix Clan?

Clenching his fist, he once more walked toward his source of anger.

”Wait...!”

Egon Zenflame just raised his wings, wanting Davis to stop while his vision was blurry, but he only managed to see a flash of lightning, and everything once again disappeared from his consciousness.

*Bang!~*

Egon Zenflameʼs head blew apart for the second time, dying just as he revived.
