Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2639 Rakestream’s Move

Everyoneʼs gaze couldnʼt help but fall on the area of commotion as they became shocked.

Someone was accusing the Emperor of Death of being a murderer as he killed Yulisez, the fifteenth-ranked true disciple who practiced Spear Laws?

They quickly saw who it was and saw that it was Mystic Diviner Rakestreamʼs subordinate, who was a core disciple but stuck to Mystic Diviner Rakestream as though they shared a master, disciple relationship. Their eyes couldnʼt help but flicker with interest as the smart ones instantly smelled a scent of an altercation.

However, they were silently laughing at one thing.

ʼWhat the... heʼs trembling as heʼs accusing me...?ʼ

Davis could only blink at this clown of a subordinate who trembled as he pointed at him that he could quickly tell who was the mastermind of this farce, his gaze falling on Mystic Diviner Rakestream.

*Paah!~*

”You- shut your mouth! How could you accuse someone with no evidence!?”

Mystic Diviner Rakestream appeared incensed as he slapped his subordinate with a furious expression on his face. His expression instantly changed one-eighty as he put on a light smile and turned to cup his hands towards Davis.

”Emperor of Death, my apologies for my subordinate acting up. It is unknown how Yulisez died, but we all saw him being forced to use the spatial talisman by you. Since he was a part of our group for this endeavor, we couldnʼt help but feel some slight anger toward you, but I understand that it isnʼt your fault. We just want to know how he died...”

”News travels fast, huh...” Davis lightly smiled, ”The guardian deity of this land told me that he dropped here and was overwhelmed by the Unfettered Ice Fiends. Perhaps, you could find whatever remains remaining of his body nearby if you searched enough.”

”The Frostcloud Sword Empress...?”

Mystic Diviner Rakestreamʼs doubtful voice resounded out loud before his face lit up, ”Ah, the Immortal Emperor of the legends whose inheritance was found by us, but it turns out that we were late, and one of your women inherited instead?”

His expression suddenly became concerned, ”Iʼm sorry. Such a place is now in the control of one of your women as she gained the inheritance. If you took Mystic Diviner Hailac there, then it is unknown what would become of her.”

”...”

Davis couldnʼt help but smile with amusement, feeling that this guy had his way with words. Not only did he expose Tanyaʼs achievements, putting his family at risk as many might come to plunder her if they were brave enough, but he also disallowed him from taking Mystic Diviner Hailac there as he used his reputation as a womanizer to ruin her reputation if she really went with him of her own volition, regardless of what would happen between them.

He did that all while using his subordinate to start the accusation before dealing with it diplomatically and unaggressively in a way that couldnʼt be turned into a physical altercation.

Truthfully, he felt incensed but glancing at Mystic Diviner Hailacʼs fuming expression, he saw that she was going to burst with rage if this was going to continue.

”Ridiculous! I feel way safer with the Emperor of Death than you people, as he was kind to me and even saved my life! How dare you try to frame him!?”

Even before he could reply, Mystic Diviner Hailac did indeed burst with anger as she waved her hand, appearing enraged beyond compare.

Davis felt that if she reacted that way, she was going to fall into his trap, and before he could open his mouth, Mystic Diviner Rakestreamʼs voice did echo again.

”What? You were with him all this time...?”

His face was utterly in shock and even appeared to be disappointed, causing Mystic Diviner Hailacʼs expression to change.

”You- that couldnʼt be interpreted that way.” She waved her hand, her expression wavering.

Davis could only inwardly face-palm as he saw the doubtful expressions of the others. The more she denied it, the more she became suspicious.

”Then let me help you.” Suddenly, Mystic Diviner Rakestream changed his tone, ”As Mystic Diviners, we know the rules we should abide by. Youʼll absolutely be safe with me. Our people will also collect the carcasses of the Unfettered Ice Fiends, and they would demand no more than fifteen percent.”

”So thatʼs what you were after...”

Mystic Diviner Hailacʼs eyes gleamed with hatred, thinking that the other party was too hateful.

”Of course not.” Mystic Diviner Rakestream strongly shook his head and gestured, ”Your safety is what I am after. Iʼm still waiting for your answer, after all. I believe you arenʼt such a woman.”

”...”

His voice was oozing out with sincerity and care, but it only made Mystic Diviner Hailac tremble in anger as she couldnʼt help but find his expression so fake- no, she knew for a fact that he was insincere in his proposal and everything.

”Are you done?”

Suddenly, a lazy voice sounded out. When Mystic Diviner Rakestream narrowed his eyes to see Davis, he suddenly found to his shock, that he wasnʼt beside Mystic Diviner Hailac anymore.

*Bang!~*

”Pui!~”

Mystic Diviner Rakestream spat a mouthful of blood, tremblingly looking down to see a hole in the center of his abdomen, right where his dantian existed. Not only was blood pouring out in copious amounts, but his essence energy and martial energy were also leaking out rapidly.

”...!”

Everyone couldnʼt help but be shocked by this sudden change.

Mystic Diviner Rakestream was crippled! The Emperor of Death crippled him with a clean fist to his dantian!

”Ah... ah...”

Mystic Diviner Rakestreamʼs eyes shook as he suddenly realized what was going on, raising his head to look at the Emperor of Deathʼs sapphire eyes gleaming at him coldly. Just as he wanted to move, he dropped to his knees as the other party held his hair and pulled him down.

Davis knelt along with him on one knee as he held him over his hair, pulling them around in a circle.

”You see... I like schemes but couldnʼt you come up with a better one? Why did you have to drag my family into it?”

Davis coldly asked as he pulled his hair around. The pain was so intense that it caused Mystic Diviner Rakestream to shiver in both rage and fear as he glared at Davis with bloodshot eyes.

”Seems like you donʼt want to live?”

Davisʼs expression became unamused as death energy seeped out from his palm, encroaching the other partyʼs hair as they made their way to the follicles and tried to enter his head through them.

”No... no...”

Mystic Diviner Rakestream no longer resisted and began to pleadingly look at Davis to let him go. The other partyʼs cold eyes no longer made him hold suspicion if the other party would kill him or not.

”Thatʼs enough.”

Abruptly, a languid voice echoed out, causing Davis to turn to look to the side as he saw Nyx Godwin.

”Is this related to you?” Davis narrowed his brows at him, his voice still remaining frigid.

”Iʼve had his help before, so it would be like giving me face if you let him go. You have my thanks beforehand.”

Nyx Godwin raised one of his brows, appearing full of confidence, and remained relaxed.

But on the other hand, Davis couldnʼt help but slightly chuckle on hearing his statement.

”I donʼt need your thanks. I can let him go, but as a form of sincerity, why donʼt you give me half the Unfettered Ice Fiends you hunt here?”

Nyx Godwinʼs eyes flickered. A single sentence from his wasnʼt enough?

”Donʼt go too far.”

”Is that too far?” Davis suddenly looked odd before he gestured, ”Then how about forty percent?”

”...” Nyx Godwin became flabbergasted. This man was actually negotiating with him? His gaze became colder.

”Thirty?”

Davis acted like a street peddler trying to sell a low-quality slave, lowering his price each time. It couldnʼt help but make many people silently chuckle, but this action caused Nyx Godwin to feel incensed.

”Hmph. You wonʼt dare kill him when weighing the risks. Not only will you offend many people, including me, but the Aurora Cloud Gate will also hunt you down for killing him. It is absolutely not worth it for anyone to go that far.”

”Oh...” Davis couldnʼt help but smile, ”I donʼt dare kill him, but I can still make him a retard, which is still the same in my eyes but not in the eyes of the Aurora Cloud Gate.”

”...” Nyx Godwinʼs expression faded as he suddenly saw death energy rumble and envelop Mystic Diviner Rakestreamʼs head.

”Seems like this guyʼs life isnʼt worth much to you.”

”Wait... no!”

Mystic Diviner Rakestream helplessly shuddered, looking absolutely defenseless to even help himself. Tears seeped out of his eyes, causing him to almost cry.

”Fine! Thirty it is...”

Nyx Godwin clenched his teeth as he echoed out loud, causing Davis to suddenly stop surging with death energy before he let go of Mystic Diviner Rakestreamʼs head and stood up, laughing out loud.

”Ahaha! Iʼm glad that there are people who always give up at the last second, saving me from bloodshed. Many thanks~”

Davis cupped his hands towards the both of them and left their side, causing Nyx Godwin to look utterly cold while Mystic Diviner Rakestream utterly shuddered under his gaze.
