Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2600 Disobedient?

Davis took his fist back. The black lightning flashing on his fist stopped, and it made sure that his soul never revives back on its own will even through a miraculous chance, at least, he thought so as he utterly devastated Egon Zenflameʼs head.

He was slightly drenched in blood, but with a flick of his sleeves, light energy swept over his body and disintegrated whatever blood was stuck to him.

However, he didnʼt return to his people but worked on altering the scene.

He summoned the carcass of the Unfettered Ice Fiend and began to stuff many of the corpses and carcasses left behind into its large mouth. Since it was thirty meters tall, it was easily able to swallow human and fey corpses. He even intentionally made it a point to grind their corpses with its razor-sharp mouth as he used its chin to grind them apart in its mouth.

Such a scene caused Tia to turn, not because she was disgusted by his actions, but couldnʼt withstand the fleshly grinding sounds.

Still, she had seen what these people did at the wedding banquet, so she possessed an equal amount of hatred for them, feeling that they deserved death.

Davis continued throwing corpses into the Unfettered Ice Fiendʼs mouth.

As for magical beast carcasses, he began to stuff parts of their bodies into its mouth and let the remaining giant-strewn pieces scatter in this tunnel.

”Is this going to conceal our actions?”

Natalya couldnʼt help but arrive beside him and looked at the gory nature of the scene he was engaged in. Although there was some curiosity, there was also some discomfort gleaming in her eyes. After all, she had not seen much blood.

Davis gave her a side-eye, smiling as he shook his head.

”It wouldnʼt.”

”Then why?”

”Because itʼll create confusion. This is not concrete evidence, you see. I can just say I tried to save them by launching a powerful attack that killed this Unfettered Ice Fiend, but they ended up being collateral damage.”

Natalyaʼs brows twitched. Davis tried to save Egon Zenflameʼs group. Who would believe such a lie?

However, she could understand that the matter wouldnʼt be clear to anyone in the unknown.

Indeed, even if anyone did come to investigate and found his and Nadiaʼs death energy having havoc-ed inside those corpses, he could easily say that it was because he attacked the Unfettered Ice Fiend, even trying to save them.

Besides, Nadia didnʼt use death energy at all. Just her raw physical prowess, her claws, was enough to behead each and every one of them. It was perfectly in line with how the Unfettered Ice Fiend killed, creating confusion, which would only seal up the truth and propagate the lies, the story of the winners, which was them.

Nonetheless, after covering up his actions, Davis turned to look at Tia.

”Well done, Tia. You helped me vent my anger a bit by finding these fools. However, make no mistake. You didnʼt kill them. Even if you didnʼt lead me to them, I still wouldʼve killed them one day, regardless. This is the reality of the cultivation world. There would always be collateral damage, so you should be careful of who you stick together with in the future as well.”

”Big brother...”

Tia pursed her lips before she movingly nodded.

Although she could only see that these people were going to descend onto the inheritance site, it could be said that she practically led her group here, so there was some burden on her. She didnʼt care about Egon Zenflame, but the people he brought along were not on her or anyoneʼs list, but they still ended up dying a gruesome death.

However, with Davisʼs words, she began to feel at ease.

”Tanya...” Davis turned to look towards Egon Zenflame- no, his womanʼs crushed corpse.

”What, you admire her?”

Tanya stared at the dead woman with a complicated glint in her eyes, but she shook her head and sighed, turning to look at Davis.

”I admire her sacrifice, and I would do the same for you if given a chance.”

”...” Davis was momentarily taken aback before he couldnʼt help but smile, ”Iʼm glad to hear that, but I donʼt require such sacrifices from my women. Thatʼs my duty, so donʼt take it away from me.”

”Husband,” Suddenly, Natalya interjected with a deep smile, ”... you canʼt say that after what sister Shirley has done to you.”

Davis was stumped, but it only caused him to chuckle.

”Youʼre right. Iʼm a hypocrite in this case, but I really donʼt want our roles reversed. I canʼt imagine my women dying for me. As a man, thatʼs shameful for me but for you, when your man sacrifices for you, thatʼs your pride. Am I wrong?”

With his answer, not only was Natalya stumped, but the others also looked the same.

? Indeed, it was the man who sacrificed and the woman who nurtured. If things went the other way around, then yin and yang would be in an imbalance, leading to innate problems.

”Regardless, as long as sorrow remains for the ones left behind, this matter cannot be justified. Whoʼs going to stop us from jumping before you? Besides-”

”Ah!”

Davis slapped Natalyaʼs ass as they gave a resounding yet melodious ring to his ears, causing him to nod like a sage before he waved his finger at her.

”Disobedient woman. Seems like you want a beating?”

”No, I want a pounding~”

Natalya stuck out her tongue before she ran and hid behind Tanya, causing the latter to not know what to say. Tiaʼs cheeks were also red as she didnʼt expect them to be this frivolous in front of every one of them, even-

ʼOh, you managed to avoid death?ʼ

She saw Captain Lightsky at the edge, looking at the abyss with intense curiosity. It seemed like he preferred falling into the abyss over getting accidentally killed by the Legion Master.

”In any case- hehem~” Tanya coughed as she gestured, ”Shouldnʼt we have soulscoured him?”

”Thatʼs a bad move.” However, Tia shook her head, ”My Karmic Wave Veil restricted their ancestral senses, but if you were to directly infringe upon their souls with soulscour techniques, then that would activate their ancestral senses and allow them to directly lock onto you, at which point, you would just be a sitting duck to them. However, leaving them behind and doing nothing, their ancestral senses, if they had any, would just disappear as they would have no place to hold onto.”

”Thatʼs my Tia. You have managed to successfully grasp the teachings from the Heaven Gazing Sectʼs teachings.”

Davis couldnʼt help but nod at her, but in truth, this was his first time confirming it as well.

”Hehe~” Tia seemed glad, ”This was not taught by them. They did have records of immortal senses imbued on immortals from their ancestors for protection and monitoring purposes, but the way to elude them was something I learned from elder sister Ellia.”

”Oh?” Davis wondered when this happened, ”She knows divination arts?”

”No, elder sister Ellia said that she couldnʼt use them. She just has knowledge over it.”

”I understand.”

Davis nodded. It was unknown what kind of repercussions Divergents like them would have after peering through the veil, so it was understandable that neither Ellia nor Myria tried their hands at divination.

However, they knew about divination a lot. Why? Because he imagined that they- no, Myria had numerous scenarios in the past where she escaped from being hunted through divination.

Such a life, he knew, mustʼve been very difficult, perhaps much more than his life. He hadnʼt even reached such a level yet but knew he was steadily nearing it. However, this was the First Haven World and not the true immortal world.

It was unknown what kind of difficulties he would face there as chances were it was absolutely chaotic and lawless despite such Immortal Emperors existing because it was freaking vast!

Nonetheless, on divinationʼs note, since he had seen his different past through Fallen Heaven, he wondered what did that make him?
