Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2622 Warmth Within Coldness

*Boom!~* *Boom!~* *Boom!~*

The giant foot of the savage beasts trampled on the land and the skies, yet their heads were falling off one after another.

*Whis!~* *Whis!~* *Whis!~*

Tanyaʼs icy figure flashed past them as she ruthlessly cut them down with her icy sword. Each strike transformed into a ray of iciness that whistled and turned into a striking light that turned the savage beasts into ice statues wherever it went.

She was no longer beheading them but freezing them with one move. Even if she failed to kill them in an instant by freezing them, she sent them flying backward like she was squatting flies. Immortal undulations swept from her, but its prowess was that of Immortal King Stage, climbing higher than that of the savage beasts wreaking havoc.

Each sword technique Tanya unleashed kept getting better and better, improving beyond compare. Her heart was still like a dead lake, yet each throb was like a ripple forming on the lake from the center, causing immense power to encompass the lake and allow her to strike with deadliness.

The difference in power was simply too great that she kept slaughtering them in droves.

”Unbelievable… this immortal fledgling managed to comprehend the final sword essence in a single day...”

Half a day later, the Frostcloud Sword Empress saw that Tanya was actually starting to dwindle the unending horde of savage beasts. She thought that she would utmost be able to fight them to a standstill today and, perhaps, comprehend eighty percent of the third trialʼs icy essence to encompass tomorrow.

However, she went past that and comprehended almost ninety percent of the icy sword intent before the day ended.

”She has even comprehended till Level Seven Abstruse Sword Intent...”

That was a direct increase of two levels in Tanyaʼs Sword Laws, causing the Frostcloud Sword Empress to feel more than impressed.

Her sapphire eyes flashed, and her gaze pierced through space to arrive at Niel Bladeheart and Yurenʼs trial. However, unlike Tanya, both of them were finding it difficult to comprehend this essence.

Although she saw Niel Bladeheart was a righteous man who put himself in danger many times to save the helpless people, he still failed to comprehend the third icy essence as she saw that it was more of a matter of pride rather than exuding warmth.

As for Yuren, she saw that she was completely failing the third trial, no-

”Is she actually furthering her icy essence of indifference…?”

The Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs brows twitched ever so lightly before she shook her head, completely losing hope of any chance of Yuren passing through this trial to obtain her inheritance.

Before that, as the master of this inheritance, she didnʼt have much faith in the trial she created as it was difficult to find extremely powerful ice cultivators who did not know of indifference.

It was part of becoming ice itself, so it couldnʼt be excluded, just like how fire-attributed immortals tended to be fiery and possess an explosive temperament that is easy to provoke. Ice couldnʼt be held, and fire couldnʼt be touched, lest the former melts and the latter burns.

Therefore, the ice cultivators maintained their indifference, and the fire cultivators were as fiery as possible, acting in accordance with how their element acts in nature to comprehend more, so to go against it was not beneficial, but the Frostcloud Sword Empress felt that it was shortening oneʼs view and did not conform to the other side of the extreme. fr𝑒e𝚠𝚎𝚋𝑛𝚘ѵ𝐞𝚕.𝑐om

If there is yin, there must be yang. However, there was no need to go find the extremity on the other end of the seashore. After all, within that sea of yin also existed a part of minuscule yang that maintained a careful balance.

To comprehend that essence was extremely difficult, but now, her eyes were witnessing that in Tanya but failed to recognize it in Yuren and even Niel Bladeheart. Even his Imposing Sword Laws failed to help, as this was a matter of being unable to see another perspective.

The Frostcloud Sword Empress felt that his specialty wouldnʼt help if his pride kept interfering with the comprehension unless he could comprehend his own version of what she intended for them to learn but to comprehend oneʼs own path would even take more time than what she designed to be comprehended in this trial.

Shaking her head, she waved her hand as the time limit was nearing, but the answer was pretty obvious.

Instantly, every space froze, and the trialists disappeared from their location, reappearing in the space where they first met the Frostcloud Sword Empress.

Even Natalya and Iesha, who had forgone their chance at the inheritance, were still here.

However, they trembled as they felt some discomfort with their bodies, feeling some changes occurring.

ʼThis is my real body...ʼ

Tanya looked at herself and felt her body becoming attuned to her current comprehension. Even though she was in an illusory body in the third trial, she had still undergone a minute yet intrinsical change to how she circulated her energy and could currently feel the changes reveling in her dantian as she was getting accustomed.

Clenching her fist, she raised her head and looked at the elegant Frostcloud Sword Empress.

”I hereby declare that Tanya emerged as the victor as she comprehended the icy essence and, henceforth, will become my disciple and receive my inheritance. As for the others, you can only leave with the bit of essence you have comprehended.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empress declared, causing Niel Bladeheart and Yuren to display a slight reaction before they turned to look at Tanya. On the other hand, Natalya and Iesha deeply smiled, knowing that their Tanya would win.

Tanyaʼs only reaction was that her lips curved behind her veil. From the start, she had never lost confidence in herself but believed that she would be the victor all along.

”Niel Bladeheart, what did you learn?”

The Frostcloud Sword Empress suddenly asked, causing Niel Bladeheart to blink as he returned his gaze to her.

”...” However, he didnʼt instantly reply but gazed at her for a while before breathing out.

”Honestly-” He paused, looking at the Frostcloud Sword Empress with a complicated gaze.

”…!”

But on the other hand, Tanya and Natalya held their breaths, wondering if this straightforward and ʼunable to read the moodʼ man was really going to confess on the spot!
