Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2604 Frostcloud Sword Empress’s Statue

With the silver-robed woman having left, Natalya turned to look at Davis. Only after she thoroughly investigated that he wasnʼt harmed did she forget about chasing that silver-robed woman for real.

”She didnʼt seem completely indifferent.” Davis suddenly spoke as he turned to look at Natalya, ”I think it only requires you to forsake the ʼworldʼ and not the other things. Are you willing to give it a try?”

”Darling, donʼt even think of getting rid of me.”

Natalya instantly pounced on him like a snake as she wound her arm around his arm, pushing her plump breasts against him as she held him tightly.

”Ahaha.” Davis couldnʼt help but laugh in response, ”I intended to say that even if you forsook me, Iʼd make you fall in love with me all over again. On that note, I have my own delusional confidence.”

Natalya smiled, feeling proud that she didnʼt misunderstand his statement at all.

However, she couldnʼt help but look down on that silver-robed woman. Not because she had harmed Davis but because her behavior was such that she was indifferent to most matters. She felt such a way of life was no different than walking amidst the dead. She couldnʼt understand such a path, so she intended to stay where she was and develop her own path, one that didnʼt forsake anything.

Nonetheless, she was glad that Davis didnʼt take that silver-robed womanʼs words seriously and doubt her actions in the future. Instead, he even gave her a smooth sailing path, which was to forget and fall in love again. However, she didnʼt want to take such a path at all.

”Actually... I forgot to ask her name.” Suddenly, Natalya remembered.

”I did too. But as long as she is a true disciple of the Aurora Cloud Gate, we will come to know sooner or later.”

Davis uttered as he had a few names in mind, but he didnʼt know her true prowess, so he couldnʼt guess where she was in the rankings. He didnʼt use Death God Eyes either, as he was forcefully staying his hand from using Fallen Heaven whenever possible.

There were too many powerful, supreme geniuses involved here for him to act easily.

He lightly gave a smile and patted Natalyaʼs head with his other arm gently before bringing them all forward. On the way, he heard about how Tanya managed to fool Rea Tyriel and couldnʼt help but have a good laugh about it.

However, he was sure once Rea Tyriel and the others had come to an intersection and noticed the strangeness, they would come looking for them in the path leading downwards and eventually find the secret entrance. However, for all he knew, they might go looking for other treasures or move to finish the main mission, which was to destroy the source that has the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley acting up and freezing the region into utter coldness.

He praised Tanya for her quick thinking, causing her to appear delighted as she possessed a healthy blush on her face.

However, they quickly came to a stop as a massive cliff severed their path. In front of them was the abyss, and the path reaching the other side was aligned with floating rocks that seemed extremely suspicious.

Nonetheless, all their heads were raised above as they witnessed the magnitude of the giant crystal statue of a woman.

She was dressed in a dark blue robe, but even her face was covered by a veil, leaving them unable to see her true beauty the sword she held by her waist and her hegemonic gaze sweeping throughout the icy land made them feel a creeping chill streak through the back of their spines.

It was as though that statue possessed a remnant soul, and one single gaze had their hearts, especially her posture that had her hand affixed on the swordʼs hilt, had them tremble, making them wonder if the statue would really draw out the giant sword and strike them into oblivion.

”Thatʼs the Frostcloud Sword Empress...? Just her gaze is so powerful.”

”Her sword intent has reached an incredible level...”

Natalya commented, causing Tanya to breathe out a sigh. She felt minuscule in front of the statue, as though all her ability was nothing in front of it, causing her to shake her head.

”From this moment on, Iʼll take the lead. Is that alright?”

”Go ahead.” Davis nodded his head.

His approval caused Tanya to smile before she directly leaped into the abyss, her steps flashing across mid-air as she made it to a floating rock. However, she didnʼt stop but continuously jumped and made her way across the scattered pathway.

Davis and the others followed suit. The moment they rushed passed the floating rocks, they appeared to have confidence in themselves, but as they had witnessed Tanya move forwards without encountering danger, it could be said they had given her that confidence.

However, there was someone who felt unsure.

”Ah!~”

Tia had just landed on a floating rock when the rock sank lightly. She felt her perception turn ninety degrees, suddenly causing her to fall, but she was actually being pulled to the side. She also noticed and was horrified that someone was pulling her from the side to cause her to fall, but a hand suddenly clasped her, causing her to come to a stop. She gratefully turned to look at Threelotus, heaving a sigh of relief.

”Tia, donʼt be afraid that you will fall. Even if you are, usher your confidence into new heights when moving forwards. Otherwise, youʼll quickly be met with rejection from the invisible formation placed here and pushed into the abyss.”

Tanyaʼs voice resounded from the forefront. In fact, she was so fast that they had already lost sight of her amidst the mist.

”The test has already started...?”

”Yes,” Davis answered Tiaʼs question. Her annoyed appearance was also adorable to look at. Still, he could follow Tanya quickly, but he stayed behind to make sure that no one fell behind. Moreover, he was impressed with Threelotus, Lightsky, and Starlily.

When Natalya was with him, he knew she wasnʼt scared of anything at all. That was one of the perks of her obsessive will. However, for his Vice Legion Commander and two Legion Captains to remain sane when the abyss that could swallow them was right below them, he was impressed with their willpower, which he hadnʼt looked at all this time.

Perhaps, they were also feeling safe because he was there? He didnʼt know but felt that he would find out sooner or later when there was a chance. After all, for Soul Forging Cultivators, their will was what made them different from other Soul Forging Cultivators at the same level.

As they made their way across the floating rocks, Tia started falling more times before she finally screamed and looked like she had enough, going against the pathway with anger in her heart which boosted her confidence.

As for his Reaper Soul Legion, they didnʼt slip a single time, and neither did Natalya, which told him that they could be trusted with life or death situations. He wondered when he had such blessed individuals. At the very least, Threelotus didnʼt come across as such a person to him, as she was more playful than anyone in the Reaper Soul Legion.

If he had to rely on someone for some less important work that didnʼt require his or his womenʼs attention, he would always look for Yotan or Praezen to get things done, but it seems like he was underestimating the others but mostly Threelotus. He felt he had to give not only her but also the other two more opportunities to prove and improve themselves.

Nonetheless, the statue in front of them was also getting bigger and bigger. They were astonished to find that it was a thousand meters tall, practically towering over them like she was a colossal creature.

”Actually, isnʼt this a sword inheritance with Ice Laws as the base? Why is that woman also here?” Natalya pouted.

If the silver-robed woman wasnʼt here, then there wouldnʼt be an additional opponent for Tanya to fight against. That brought her opportunities down, which made Natalya frown as she was worried for her.

Even after all this time, they hadnʼt seen that silver-robed woman, which made it so that she was extremely confident in herself as well.

”Well, for starters, she probably doesnʼt know that this is a sword inheritance. Even if she did, it isnʼt likely that she would give up since it is based on Ice Laws. Yin is a complimentary and interweaving type of energy that also has ice as a base just like yang has fire, so if she could incorporate sword arts into the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual without changing its essence, I think she could become more powerful as a result.”

”Figures...”

Natalya clenched her teeth as she felt that the odds werenʼt looking good for sister Tanya.

Niel Bladeheart was already a menace, but now, thereʼs even a cultivator who practices the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual. Although she perceived the latter wasnʼt as strong as Niel Bladeheart, she was still a true disciple who could cross five levels higher to battle, which put Tanya at a considerable disadvantage.

But at this moment, her eyes suddenly squinted as she saw a cliff appear on the other side and further stretch into a mountain.

They had finally reached the other side.

However, the moment they stepped on the last floating rock, their eyes flashed as they saw Tanya and the silver-robed woman racing toward the top. Their legs were stuck to the statue as they made their way up to the sword hilt, where a white light shone briskly like a glimmer from a star.

”Itʼs the entrance...! It has been opened already!”

”Niel Bladeheart...” Davisʼs eyes narrowed in response to Natalyaʼs exclamation, ”... seems like he already went inside.”

Were they too late?
