Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2629 Behemoth?

Davis saw Myriaʼs pupils dilate while he also felt a chill. The name of that creature just became... bigger and more intimidating, causing him to feel some dissonance with reality.

”Worry not.” Unexpectedly, the Frostcloud Sword Empress giggled ever so lightly, ”For I have sealed it. However, for you to know about this creature, did master tell you or just... who are you?”

”That doesnʼt matter. Saintess Lunaria knows about this and doesnʼt move to evacuate this region? I found the source, and the implosion of the windy ice vent doesnʼt seem simple. If Iʼm not wrong, thatʼs where you have sealed the Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiend, havenʼt you?”

”How strong is the Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiend?” Davis couldnʼt help but interrupt, causing Myria to turn to look at him.

”Itʼs the ender of realms and eater of spatial islands. If it grew to maturity, then itʼs not something that even I would necessarily be able to defeat at my peak, so for the Frostcloud Sword Empress to be capable of sealing it, I reckon that it was nothing more than a newborn.”

”...”

Davis could only stare at Myria silently. What were they were in a battle against? Wasnʼt this too much for his first mission?

On the other hand, the Frostcloud Sword Empress narrowed her eyes at Myria, becoming more convinced that she was a reincarnator and hence, a Divergent. It was no wonder she didnʼt give too much respect to their master, calling her Saintess Lunaria again and again instead of addressing her as master.

However, she believed her masterʼs eyes and ability, causing her to ignore her curiosity.

”You are indeed erudite, junior sister.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empress smiled, ”For me to seal the Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiend in that windy ice vent you mentioned was a monumental task. If I hadnʼt found it moments before departing the First Haven World after finally setting up my inheritance, then it wouldʼve grown into a calamity that threatened the world. Even at my peak, I was unable to kill it completely. Only its heart remains, and no matter how I slashed, I was unable to kill it. Therefore, I froze it with my sealing art and ascended. The others had no chance to know, much less make a move to destroy it.”

”I shouldʼve known.” Myria clenched her fists lightly, ”An Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend wouldnʼt pop out from nowhere. If one of them is here, then it mustʼve been their origin birth, but since there are records of multiple of them having born here, then their allfather Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiend should be present.”

”It wasnʼt that the people of the past have failed to kill the Unfettered Ice Fiends, allowing its main body to escape. Itʼs because the frozen heart keeps giving birth to new ones.”

According to what Davis said, he encountered a Level Four Immortal King Stage Unfettered Ice Fiend that almost pummeled Mystic Diviner Hailac to death. Then, most of the Unfettered Ice Fiends that she encountered were at Level Two or Level Three Immortal Stage.

This represented that at least two of them were here, and both were males. Otherwise, they would be even more powerful.

Myria didnʼt stop thinking, ”However, for a frozen, newborn heart to be able to give birth to an Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend, this is news to me.”

”Most likely, they have planned these millenniums ahead. Itʼs no wonder the entire region freezes to death upon the icy implosion. They started and amplified it. Theyʼre using that implosion to unfreeze their allfather, and I muse that there are at least two or three of them who have already waited for a long time before making a move now. No wonder... no wonder... those fiends kept grinning even though they were dying in droves...”

Myriaʼs heart sank as she derived a plausible scenario, and Davis, who also heard it, couldnʼt help but feel a creeping chill. Natalya was also pale while Tanya was currently refining the inheritance core, although her arms shook as she could still hear in the back of her mind.

However, they understood that even Saintess Lunaria was unaware of this matter. They couldnʼt help but want to report this matter back to the Aurora Cloud Gate. There was no way other than to bring the Guardians here to resolve such a calamitous issue.

”I told you all not to worry. It is fine as long as my inheritor is here.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empress saw their nervous stature and couldnʼt help but smile, causing Davis and the others to raise their heads and look at her. Tanya also came out from her reverie, having just refined the core and received a bunch of basic information.

She became shocked, turning to look at Davis.

”What?” Davis sensed her gaze, but the Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs voice echoed out at this moment.

”Tanya, I said what you possess in your hand is also the core of the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley. It carries its searing frigid essence sealed in Lumbring Crystal refined from an Immortal Emperor Grade Ore, called the Lumbring Ore, so it couldnʼt be absorbed but used. When you activate it, you will be able to walk freely even as an Immortal King or even as an Immortal Emperor in this place.”

”...!?”

Myria turned to look at Tanya. If one of them could enter the Immortal King Stage, then it would become possible to stop those fiends from unsealing their allfather. As long as they stuck to the mission and stopped the source, then the implosion would be stopped.

However, she didnʼt know how powerful Tanya was to hand over such an important task.

On the other hand, Davis couldnʼt help but turn to look at Natalya. She initially doubted how the Frostcloud Sword Empress was able to leave an inheritance in this restricted space, but now everything has become clear.

He reached out his hand and patted Natalyaʼs head to her confusion while returning his gaze to the Frostcloud Sword Empress.

”In that case, Iʼll trust the Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs words.”

”Are you not worried that tragedy would befall her?” Myria glared at him, ”Iʼm warning you. Those ice fiends are voracious and savage despite their intelligence. Unlike magical beasts, they exist only to swallow flesh and blood, worlds and cores to grow. They canʼt be communicated with. They donʼt want to communicate.”

Davis was taken aback, ”I understand, but I can feel it. Not only Tanyaʼs but even Natalyaʼs state of mind has also gone a massive change. Iʼm sure that their battle intents are no longer the same and experienced a qualitative change, causing their prowess to leap.”

He wryly smiled as he kept looking at the Frostcloud Sword Empress, ”And judging by elderʼs character, I hope that itʼs a good change.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empress shook her head, ”A living person cannot be a walking corpse. I dislike the Forsaken Yin Lotus Sectʼs way of teaching, and Tanya would become extremely powerful after learning my sword arts, so rest assured.”

”That speaks volumes~” Natalya hummed, causing Davis to smilingly shake his head before he knelt beside Tanya and placed a hand on her shoulder.

”Tanya, can you do it?”

”I need some time.”

Tanya nodded her head with determination oozing out her eyes, causing Davis to smile, ”Of course. Until you display your glorious might, Iʼll hunt those icy fiends for you like a lackey and reserve you the main dish.”

”What are you saying...?” Tanya became embarrassed as she pushed him away and stood up.f𝒓ee𝙬𝒆𝚋n૦𝘷𝐞l.c𝑜𝒎

Her cheeks were crimson, as they could be seen through the crevices of her icy veil. She even believed that he would finish the trouble before she could step into the Immortal King Stage. Nonetheless, she took a deep breath and knelt.

”Frostcloud Sword Empress, please accept this kowtow of mine as you take me in as your disciple.”

Tanya kowtowed once, but her head didnʼt reach the ground but stayed mid-air. Still, it caused the Frostcloud Sword Empress to nod gently.

”Good child. From now on, you are my personal disciple. If a problem makes you suffer, bring it to me in the immortal world. I will solve it for you.”

”Yes~”

Tanya couldnʼt help but feel excited. She actually had an Immortal Emperor as her backer? No- judging by the time difference, her master couldʼve very likely surpassed the Immortal Emperor Stage if she was still alive. Realizing the implication, she couldnʼt help but suck in a breath of cold air that tasted sweet.

But at this moment, a frigid mirror appeared from nowhere in front of her, causing Tanya to blink.

”Now, step inside the mirror. You will learn my sword arts: Frigid Veil Sword Style.”

Hearing the name of the sword art, Tanya took a deep breath before turning around and kissing Davisʼs cheek.

”Iʼll come back, so please wait for me~”

”I will.”

Davis caressed Tanyaʼs soft black hair, kissing her forehead back before he let her go. She gazed at him a few more seconds, appearing reluctant to leave before she turned around and entered the icy mirror, disappearing from her peopleʼs gaze.
