Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2627 Yet?

Davis appeared before the crystal statue of the Frostcloud Sword Empress and saw that Nadia and the others were simply covered in a barrier. Seeing that they were safe as Nadia waved at him, he told her to trust him with his gaze, to which she nodded before he turned to look back.

”Wait here.” He spoke to Ellia and the others, but Myria simply blinked.

”No.”

”...” Davis shrugged, ”Only I was invited.”

”Why do you think I came here? Get me in. I want to confirm something.”

Myria demanded, causing Davis to blink. How was he supposed to get her in? An idea popped up in his head as he extended his hand out.

”Perhaps, if you grab my hand, you will be pulled in with me?”

Myria glanced at his palm and then looked back at his face that faked innocence, ”Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

”Haha.” Davis chuckled as he raised his hands, ”I was found out trying to take advantage. It seems like there is nothing I can do to take Fairy Myria inside.”

”Hold on...” Myria looked at him, her brows frowning.

However, she walked and appeared before him, raising her hand before she grabbed hold of his sleeve.

”...”

For a moment, Davis was dumbstruck as he suddenly found Myria adorable. Although her expression was cold as ever, there was a glimmer of change in her limpid eyes. However, he quickly came out of his reverie and nodded.

”This might do.”

He turned around and respectfully cupped his hands, ”Frostcloud Sword Empress, I have arrived upon your request. Free my people and take me in along with my friend who wants to meet you for some important reason.”

”We have an additional guest? Mhm... interesting~”

A cold voice resounded with amusement, stunning the people who were watching the Emperor of Death from a distance.

Did one of his women really win the inheritance!? They were filled with shock.

At this moment, the barrier blocking Nadia and the others were lifted. Simultaneously, two more barriers were lifted, and Niel Bladeheart and Yuren walked out of it, causing Davis to look at them.

”Congratulations, Emperor of Death. Your Tanya has proved herself to be one of a kind by obtaining this inheritance.”

Davis smiled, ”Thank you, Niel Bladeheart. You can address me by my name.”

Feeling the sharper and icy aura radiating from Niel Bladeheart, for a moment, he couldnʼt understand how Tanya beat him. He was curious to see her.

”Will do.” Niel Bladeheart nodded, ”Now then, Iʼll have to go solidify my gains while itʼs still fresh in my mind, so Iʼll take my leave from here.”

”Go ahead.”

Davis gestured when he suddenly disappeared from the scene along with Myria and Pia.

Only Ellia and Mystic Diviner Hailac remained, who greeted Niel Bladeheart before he left. As for their group, they joined up with Nadia and the others, discussing what could possibly be going on inside the inheritance space.

Inside the inheritance space, Davisʼs eyes were wide as he looked at his icy beauties. He couldnʼt recognize the warmth of their aura at all.

Had something been done to them?

However, the moment they swiveled their heads and caught sight of him, that coldness dissipated like being ignited and burst apart as their warmth covered him from top to bottom, filling his soul.

”Husband~”

”Here, have some tea~”

Natalya and Tanya instantly arrived before him, presenting him with some refreshments that made Davis blink.

”Hold on. Donʼt get too excited.”

”No, we apologize for disturbing you.” Tanya shook her head, ”Besides, we donʼt know for what reason the Frostcloud Sword Empress called you here. Weʼre afraid that we might have wronged you.”

”Tanya, be respectful. You canʼt be this favorable to me when being beside your master...”

Davis felt heartened, but he couldnʼt help but mediate as he turned to look at the Frostcloud Sword Empress, who appeared still like an ice statue. If it werenʼt for her gleaming sapphire eyes, he would truly find her to be an icy jade-carved beauty.

”I see. Enigmatic Heart Intent... thatʼs why...”

The Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs voice echoed with astonishment, causing Davis to shrug. He had used Enigmatic Heart Intent to confirm if his three icy beauties were still the same people, and he couldnʼt do anything about it if he was found out.

”For what reason am I invited here?” He cupped his hand and maintained a respectful attitude since he confirmed their safety.

”I heard that you were kind and magnanimous, so I wanted to see for myself what kind of person you truly were.”

”Kind? Me?” Davis scoffed, ”Iʼm sure you know that I just probably forced a true disciple to his death for blocking my path toward you, so is the Frostcloud Sword Empress mocking me?”

”If someone blocked my path, I would cut them down the same. Why would I blame you? Besides, that true disciple died to the onslaught of the Unfettered Ice Fiends upon exit.”

”Your senses extend outside...?”

”The whole Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley is my territory.”

Davis was just astonished by the Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs response when he heard Natalya inform by his side.

”Husband, the Frostcloud Sword Empress is one of the previous Guardians of the Aurora Cloud Gate.”

”...!”

Davis was again given a shock as he turned to stare at Natalya. Even Myria went slightly wide-eyed.

This Frostcloud Sword Empress was an Immortal Emperor and possessed the same status as Saintess Lunaria and the other six Guardians?

Seeing that Natalya wasnʼt joking, he returned his gaze to the Frostcloud Sword Empress and cupped his hands again.

”Greetings, elder.”

”Relax, young one.” The Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs tone turned warm, ”I havenʼt brought you here to harm you. I brought you here to check how come all three of your women had an affinity with my sword art when I thought the compatibility was supposed to be abysmal when I created this inheritance. Your women make me feel that my sword intent is average.”

”...” Davis didnʼt know how to respond to this statement. Praise his women or humble them?

”Obviously, theyʼre my women, so theyʼre bound to surpass the Frostcloud Sword Empress sooner or later.”

Myria and everyone else turned to look at him. Why was he needlessly provoking her now?

Davisʼs lips also twitched, not knowing why he said that, but he lightly smiled.

”I am not saying this to belittle you. Itʼs just... I estimate that theyʼll all become Immortal Emperors as long as I donʼt die.”

The Frostcloud Empress had her brows raised. She didnʼt reply for some time, causing Davis to feel that he had definitely offended her with his arrogant words just now, but he heard her speak.

”Unexpectedly, youʼre too protective of them...” The Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs voice was amused, ”Thatʼs good. I see you arenʼt taking advantage of them, especially my inheritor.”

”Of course not~”

Tanya voiced out as she clenched her fists, causing the Frostcloud Sword Empress to giggle as her body shook ever so lightly silently.

”So youʼre a Guardian of our Aurora Cloud Gate.” At this moment, Myria stepped forward and raised her hand, ”Very well. Since you have your senses watching over this territory, explain to me whatʼs going on with the Unfettered Ice Fiends. Their behavior is erratic, and I canʼt find their leader in their ranks; that is their main body. I believe you should have some answers even without having to check, no?”

Myria brought out her status plate, and upon seeing it, the Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs eyes shot wide. Her limped sapphire eyes teared up suddenly, a hint of nostalgia causing her brows to quiver.

”Junior sister. Has master still not ascended yet?”

”...” Myria blinked twice.

Junior sister? Master? Was that meant to address Saintess Lunaria?

In that case, realizing the implication, her brows couldnʼt help quiver as this also meant that the Frostcloud Sword Empress was most likely a Divergent!
