Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2608 Impossibility?

As Tanya and the others were shocked by the Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs revelation, the latter opened her mouth.

”Since youʼre all precious disciples from my Aurora Cloud Gate, Iʼll at least save you the fate of becoming crippled.”

”...”

Natalya couldnʼt help but blink. So she almost joined and even brought Iesha on a whim only to have a chance of getting crippled here as she wasnʼt truly intent on pushing over Tanya to gain the inheritance? She wondered if she should lower her self-esteem in order to be careful, but she then shook her head.

Just because the Frostcloud Sword Empress said that she would save them from the fate of being crippled doesnʼt necessarily mean that she would be crippled.

”Frostcloud Sword Empress, can you tell us more about the Aurora Cloud Gate?” Niel Bladeheart didnʼt even care about that statement and seemed more interested in something else.

”Matters that are hidden should stay hidden in some cases. Donʼt go searching for the true face of the Aurora Cloud Gate. It wonʼt bore well for you.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs sapphire eyes flashed.

Niel Bladeheart could only blink. Was he just given a warning? Despite him being known as a supreme genius from the Bladeheart Family?

His father and mother refused to tell him what was going on with this sect as well. How come the most powerful supreme geniuses of the entire First Haven World were gathered here, and they had the best resources, not to mention encompassing the learning of almost all laws overall?

They only told him to go study all the sword arts there and return after he became a Late Immortal King, where he would be presented with the Nameless Sword Styleʼs apex techniques but, most importantly, its Divine Technique!

Nonetheless, what was forbidden made some people want to break through the veil and experience it for themselves.

Niel Bladeheart couldnʼt help but want to know what the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs true history was, especially because... his gaze was fully concentrated on the beautiful visage of the Frostcloud Sword Empress.

It was love at first sight that he couldnʼt help but occasionally find himself forgetting he was in a trial.

”Very well.” The Frostcloud Sword Empress spoke in a calm tone, ”The trial will commence, and after you people complete three levels, the person to first complete the third level the first will obtain my inheritance.”

”Is it that simple?” Ieshaʼs melodious voice echoed out in confusion.

”Whether it is simple or not depends on your raw comprehension talent. Thatʼs why I etched on the swordʼs edge outside that you either need to be a sword or an ice-attributed cultivator. If you do not have at least one of these two laws mastered to Level Eight Abstruse Intent, then itʼs impossible to even complete a single level.”

”Moreover, a sword cultivator must be a pure sword cultivator like Niel Bladeheart or an icy sword cultivator. Otherwise, it is simply difficult to comprehend the intricacies and advance in the levels of the trial.”

”Why is that? I donʼt believe that nothingʼs impossible.” Niel Bladeheart raised his voice.

”...” Natalya saw that he was like a rebellious student who went against the teacherʼs words to get her attention. However, she couldnʼt help but admit that his words were true.

Nothing was impossible as long as they had the determination and could make enough sacrifices to get what they wanted.

But contrary to what she thought, the Frostcloud Sword Empress shook her head.

”Whatʼs impossible will remain impossible, especially when you tread on the path of exploring and improving another impossibility.”

”...” Niel Bladeheart and the others appeared clueless.

? This was not a good view for them, who pursued greater paths, paths that others donʼt dare to take. Wasnʼt this just pessimistic?

Just as they thought of it like that, the Frostcloud Sword Empress opened her mouth again.

”Attainment.”

”Oh...”

Suddenly, every one of them seemed like they had gained enlightenment.

As immortals, they already knew about Attainment. In simpler words, when one comprehends a Law and is so sure of it that it restricts their viewpoint or perspective, leaving them unable to comprehend the overall essence of some other law, making it impossible to learn other higher-level laws at higher levels unless they resonate and apply to their comprehension in some way.

”However, there are always exceptions. One, you have accurately comprehended the way that there is no space for confusion. Two, it belongs to the category of another type of Law altogether.”

”Another type of law...?”

Natalya was full of curiosity.

”Indeed. Just like any other law, Sword Laws is ultimately not something that belongs to humans or magical beasts. Spirits, specifically armament spirits of a physical sword, are the only known creatures to have ever comprehended Sword Laws or otherwise known as Imposing Sword Laws, which is a Phyletic Law, the type of Law that doesnʼt let Attainment impede oneʼs progress. Likewise, the only Law that belongs to humans like me is-”

”Enigmatic Heart Laws.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs eyes reacted as she turned to look at Natalya, who subconsciously blurted out.

”Thatʼs true. Who taught you?” She couldnʼt help but ask.

Natalya was nervous that she interrupted the Frostcloud Sword Empress but hearing the question, her face couldnʼt help lit up with a smile.

”My husband~”

”I see.” The Frostcloud Sword Empress narrowed her brows, ”Youʼre young and powerful, but you have decided to tie your fate already?”

Natalya shook her head, ”It is only because of my husband that I am this powerful.”

”I see.”

”Heh~ Sheʼs weak for someone who uses the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual.”

”...”

Natalya turned to stare at the silver-robed woman, her eyes sharp, ”Tell me your name. While youʼre at it, tell me what you forsook so I can judge you for lacking moral character.”

”My name is Yuren. As for what I forsook, you donʼt need to know.”

”Heh! The fact that you couldnʼt even say what you forsook says that you still havenʼt forgotten about it~”

Natalyaʼs voice was full of mocking as she gestured with a sneer, causing Yurenʼs eyes to flash with coldness as they stared at each other.

Looking at the two of them, the Frostcloud Sword Empress simply sighed and continued.

”As I said, Sword Laws is ultimately that doesnʼt belong to humans. Since it doesnʼt belong to us, we will undoubtedly receive Attainment which disallows us or overcomplicates our ability to comprehend laws of other nature even if it is within the same Law.”

”For example, since I excel at Sword Laws of Ice, I cannot comprehend Sword Laws of Fire, or I risk damaging my ability to comprehend Sword Laws of Ice and even confuse it with my new comprehension of Sword Laws of Fire and risk circulating my energy wrongly, ending up crippled or even receiving a heart demon that will disallow comprehension for fear of learning wrongly.”

”Niel Bladeheart, since you follow an attributeless path of the sword and only take insights from other paths to suit your own, it is not good for you to overlearn Sword Laws of Ice. If you receive Attainment in that regard, then...”

”I understand, senior.” Niel Bladeheart cupped his hands to the Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs warning, ”I wonʼt do something that destroys my own future.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empress saw Niel Bladeheartʼs expression and saw that he wasnʼt really listening, causing her to pause for a moment before she continued.

”In the cultivation worldʼs rich history, countless geniuses rush things, and the ones that comprehended so much due to their innate heaven-given ability that they received Attainment which impeded their future path was the most pitiful of them all.”

”...” Niel Bladeheart blinked. Was that supposed to be him?

”Nonetheless, the Enigmatic Heart Laws is something that isnʼt restricted by Attainment when it comes to the human race. As long as youʼre human and you have the ability to comprehend Enigmatic Heart Laws, then you donʼt need to worry about receiving Attainment in that vast sea. In fact, the Enigmatic Heart Laws are special in that regard that it allows the human soul to introspect and cleave oneʼs wrong insights into null or void, allowing the true and factual insights, resonating with the heavens to remain.”

”Such a thing... I didnʼt know Enigmatic Heart Laws possessed such a unique trait.” Niel Bladeheartʼs felt his horizons widen.

But on the other hand, Natalya, Iesha, and Tanya couldnʼt help but look at each other as this was undoubtedly good news to their man. They couldnʼt help but want to report it to Davis as soon as possible, but their figures disappeared right before their eyes the next moment.

”Thatʼs enough information Iʼve given you five, so I wish you luck. May the fastest to comprehend my icy sword essence gain the inheritance.”

The Frostcloud Sword Empressʼs resounded in their ears, but all five of them found themselves standing in a separate space, their surroundings utterly empty like the void.
