Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2598 Blocked Path

An invisible layer of obscure energy covered the tunnel Davis, and the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs entourage was present. It completely blocked the area in a tight encirclement of a karmic curtain where it disallowed others to see what was going on.

It was especially the case since this was already a restricted place. The Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley was not something higher beings could easily step into.

Immortal King Mystic Diviners or Immortal King ancestral senses simply werenʼt able to manifest, and even if they did, they could only see things vaguely, so even Tiaʼs less powerful Karmic Wave Veil instantly caused the area to be practically sealed from the outside senses.

Realizing the change in the atmosphere, the top three disciples instantly noticed Davisʼs call and barked out as they looked at Tia.

”A Mystic Diviner!”

”Kill her, and we can report this even if we die!”

The fish pattern blue-robed woman instantly morphed into a fat fist as she screamed in shock, resembling a pufferfish. But unlike a pufferfish, her fish scales were pristine and smooth. They appeared to be armored scales and also turned into blades as her body kept inflating.

The white-robed archer called for Tiaʼs death as he took out his longbow strung with his hair. Unexpectedly, he transformed into a white silkworm, and one of his tiny invisible hands made up of his essence energy pulled on the string, gathering an enormous amount of energy at the nock of the bowstring to make an arrow.

The white arrow condensed in an instant, radiating Level Nine Immortal Beast Stage undulations! However, it was far more powerful!

Having locked onto Tia, he abruptly launched it.

*Ripp!~*

It shot toward Tia with extreme speed, causing Davis to widen his mouth, ”Damn, even worms can be archers...?”

As he seemed to be completely dumbfounded, his blonde hair shook as the arrow shot past him.

*Bang!~*

However, an icy sword clashed with the arrow and shattered it before it could make it to Tia. Just the impact of it reached Immortal King level.

But Tia didnʼt appear scared as she maintained the Karmic Wave Veil as she maintained her positions. In front of her was Natalya, having formed an icy lotus barrier that spun around them majestically and in front of that barrier was Tanya pointing her icy sword toward the silkworm.

Having activated the Prismatic Intramural Soul-Spirit Pact, they both hosted the vast icy powers of spirits within them. Iesha and Pia Noelʼs powers within them were radiating with an icy heat, giving them an enormous capability to battle against Immortal Kings.

The expressions of the Pristine Bubble Fish woman and the silkworm become unsightly as they realize that these people are not ordinary. In truth, they really had no idea who the Emperor of Death was, so hearing that kind of pompous title affixed on someone with a lower cultivation base than them made them laugh instead.

After all, the title of Emperor was usually taken by Immortal Emperors in the First Haven World.

Although they were from the Western Fire Phoenix Clan Prefecture, they were not privy to all information, especially one that was disadvantageous to the Fire Phoenix Clan as it was suppressed.

Even if they had ten times the guts, they wouldnʼt go offend a Divergent just to lick someoneʼs boot. Nonetheless, forgetting the Emperor of Death, even the two blue-robed icy women in the distance gave them the feeling of immense danger.

However, whatever words of regret they had in mind were too late to utter. They realized they could only escape, so turning to look back, they saw their fellow disciples get beheaded one by one. There wasnʼt even a trace of energy in the air, causing them to feel the chill seeping into their spine before it only took a moment for them to understand that it was despair.

”Turning your back on the battlefield is really some bold move...”

”...!”

They had only just turned back to look at the situation, but at that time, a cold voice was already behind them.

”Die!”

The pufferfish exploded with a water wave that surged on all sides. She didnʼt even turn back, unleashing her move with extreme might. The water filled the icy space instantly, but even in that majestic wave that tried to push everything else away from her and squash her own people, she turned to look and saw that the purple-robed man still held onto one of her sharp blades that shouldʼve in all right... sliced his finger!

”What- What is this...!!?”

A sharp alarm went off her head when she sensed something ominous penetrate her body. However, even before she could realize what it was, her soul was snuffed out like a candle that had been blown gently.

There was no resistance whatsoever as the light in her eyes dulled.

”Pasca!”

Looking at her plunging body, the silkworm yelled with urgency and panic. He had his longbow nocked and ready to be fired. However, he didnʼt know where to aim, causing him to quickly turn around and flee.

*Ripp!~*

He unleashed it straight ahead of him. The giant arrow that was ten meters long abruptly widened into a big beam, smashing apart each and everyone one of his people, unwittingly blocking his way out.

”Senior...!”

”No...!”

”What have we done to you!?”

Cries of reluctance resounded before they died down.

*Bang!~*

Just as the white cannon shot past them, it was suddenly destroyed.

The silk wormʼs eyes widened as he saw, in the wake of destruction, a miniature tail sweep past it before disappearing again.

”Aiya, even Nadia didnʼt do much, and you killed half of your own group. What a pity...”

”You-!”

The silkworm turned around, only to see the purple-robed man appear in front of him again. His body absolutely froze stiff, not understanding how he was able to keep up with his speed despite having a lower cultivation base.

What kind of monster was this Emperor of Death? His mind screamed in panic, and that directly caused him to counterattack.

Countless white strings shot from his worm body, including his mouth, intending to trap Davis in a cocoon. However, he found himself plunging to the ground, and after that, his vision disappeared, and even his thinking stopped.

Davisʼs lips curled. However, he didnʼt look at the dead worm but turned to look at the red-robed man abruptly manifesting from the cocoon that was almost built around him, trapping him in place slightly.

”Very good, puny worm. Even in death, you were useful.”

The red-robed manʼs countenance churned, and his body seemed gaseous. It became apparent that he was a spirit. However, he cackled at the dead silkworm and turned to look at Davis.

”As for you... Emperor of Death or not. Even you should be afraid of blood poison...”

”... you think so?” Davis blinked.

The red-robed spirit couldnʼt help but frown before he cackled.

”Heh! Keep dreaming. I admit that youʼre powerful, but once poison invades any bodily system and its function, itʼs time to give up. Itʼs time to rise and shine, Egon Zenflame.”

He cackled with amusement, causing Davis to turn to look at Egon Zenflame.

Egon Zenflameʼs still-twitching body had been corrupted by death energy and abruptly burst with phoenix flames before they spread all over his body. However, instead of burning him alive into ashes, it seemed that he was getting better as all his injuries began to heal and even his formidable death energy seemed to be erased by the nirvanic might of the phoenix flames.

”Rebirth from the ashes...”

Looking at the species technique that once saved him, Davis felt a bit sad that such a divine ability was capable of being used by scoundrels. But it made sense that all phoenixes had this botched divine ability, allowing them to have a second life upon rising from their own remains.

Thinking of this matter, Davisʼs wondrous mood plummeted as his eyes flashed.

”Jasu, get away from him! Heʼs too powerful for your blood poison to work!”

”What...?”

The red-robed spirit seemed like he heard something delusional from Egon Zenflame, who was reviving. He was still close to Davis, stringing him with his gaseous red cloud like he was choking him, but at this moment, a hand clasped his utterly unclaspable gaseous face, causing him to freeze.
