Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2601 Spiralling Pathway

Davis pondered over the unknown for a moment before shaking his head, not getting anywhere. Still, he felt thankful to Ellia for doing things without him even having to ask her, causing him to think once again think where she went.

”Husband, itʼs still good we killed them all. Now itʼs just Tegon Zenflame and Rai Zenflame. I wonʼt forget how they made Mingzhi feel vexed and ashamed.”

Natalya clenched her fist, ”I want that slight to be repaid with blood.”

”Weʼll get them. Itʼs just a matter of time.”

Davis smiled. He gestured towards his group to follow him and arrived at the edge, patting Lightskyʼs shoulder.

”Very good. Youʼre guarding our back.”

”Ah, yes.”

Lightsky froze before he lightly smiled. He didnʼt want any trouble at all, but it was true that he was investigating the abyss more.

”I investigated a bit using my soul sense but didnʼt find anything of concern, not even an entrance.”

He pointed his hand towards the spiraling pathway that further led downwards into the icy maw. After some point, it just became difficult to penetrate, leaving him unable to sense around.

”Thatʼs fine. If it wasnʼt hidden, wouldnʼt it be found way earlier in the first place? Everyone, follow me after five minutes.”

Davis informed and directly jumped into the abyss.

His actions caused everyoneʼs heart to skip a beat, but upon reaching the edge, they saw him safely land on a spiral stretch before further walking downwards. He disappeared into the darkness, causing Natalya, Tanya, and Tia to look at each other.

They could do nothing else than to worry after he said for them to wait.

Time passed.

A few minutes passed when suddenly they heard sounds from behind.f𝔯𝑒e𝓌ℯ𝐛𝑛𝐨ѵel.c𝚘𝓶

”Woah... Isnʼt this Egon Zenflame from the Fire Phoenix Clan?”

”What the... it really is. Who told a core disciple like him to enter and get slaughtered by the Unfettered Ice Fiend? Even true disciples arenʼt faring any better against it, dropping like flies.”

”Yes, itʼs rumored that over twenty true disciples have already fallen to its deadly claws. How can- wait... this ominous and strange strand of energy... isnʼt this death energy? Itʼs all over the place in minute amounts...?”

”Look, there are people at the edge...”

Those loud voices boomed in the tunnel, heading in their direction before their figures became clearer, causing Natalya and the others to know who they were. It was the same bunch who fought for the Mercurial Metal Ice Pearl and its root and also the lake.

”So itʼs you people.” Rea Tyrielʼs eyes flashed in interest before she gave a look around, ”Whereʼs the Emperor of Death?”

”Seriously? Werenʼt you people at the other treasure sites? What are you doing here?”

Tanya didnʼt hesitate to express her displeasure, ”Weʼre currently investigating this region and have yet to head above, so donʼt get in our way.”

”Mhm? Havenʼt headed above, you say?”

Rea Tyriel lightly smiled, ”We certainly had our gains and could even sell them to you for a premium. But before that, could you explain what went on here? The battle scars seemed to even reach here, as though these people were targeting multiple enemies.”

Tanyaʼs heart clenched. However, her brows merely raised, ”How rude of you to doubt us. We were here to save them, but they were mauled and ripped apart by the Unfettered Ice Fiendʼs claws and eaten. Two of them escaped into this abyss, so husband told us to stay for a while and went after them.”

”You could sell us treasures, you say?”

Before Rea Tyriel could respond, Natalyaʼs eyes lit up, ”What have you got?”

”Well, we could talk about our gains sometime later or after we exit alive. Until then, goodbye. Hahaha~”

Rea Tyriel laughed and strode above the way Davis and the others came. The entire bunch followed the Tyriels and went along with them, causing Tanya and the others to remain silent for an entire duration before they jumped into the abyss.

”Pfftt... ahahaha!”

Tia could no longer hold back her laughter as she descended along with the others and landed on the spiraling staircase. Without Davis by their side, she acted pompous, completely not looking at them eye to eye, which was understandable as she was a supreme genius, but it also irked them. However...

”That stupid woman thinks sheʼs smarter and went the wrong way. Tanya, that was good!” Natalya also laughed as she patted Tanya.

Tanya was slightly embarrassed. She was in a sect, and treasure hunting was something she usually did, so fooling others to go somewhere else was something she was proficient in, but the other Falling Snow Sect would not do something so playful, causing her to mature, but it seemed like the more she was with Davis, the more her playfulness was coming to show out.

”Thank you.”

Nonetheless, she took the compliment as she was feeling proud of fooling an entire group of geniuses into going the wrong way.

”Master is towards the right.”

A voice emerged from the darkness. However, Natalya and the others were scared since they knew it was from Nadia. Only the three from the Reaper Soul Legion were spooked, but they still followed Tanyaʼs lead as she took the forefront, possessing the most offensive piercing might among them that could cut through obstacles.

She bravely followed Nadiaʼs occasional directions in the dark. Here, they could even feel their own heartbeat, and there was an invisible pressure that was pulling on their heartstrings, and those heartstrings were screaming at them to leave.

Despite the difficult expressions they kept, they made their way to a dead end. However, with Nadia urging them, they walked through it and found that it was an illusion that couldnʼt be differentiated at their current level, causing them to be astonished.

However, the moment they stepped inside the secret entrance and didnʼt fall to their death, they were shocked to find out Davis was in confrontation with someone in a vast cave.

It was not Niel Bladeheart but a woman wearing a silver robe.

She had him trapped in a triangular icy light, seemingly utilizing the natural region to erect a formation out of thin air.

”Itʼs you.”

Natalya realized that this silver-robed woman was the one playing hide and seek with them, and she was also the user of Forsaken Yin Lotusʼs true cultivation method.

Nonetheless, looking at Davis being trapped, she and Tanya moved to attack her simultaneously, their icy energies spreading and concentrating at a single point as they turned into a lotus and a sword, shooting toward the silver-robed woman like an assassinʼs arrow, sharp and deadly, filled with incredible might.
