I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 836, Don’t Let It Backfire

After Su Bai and the others finished inspecting the farmland, they rode the hot air balloon slowly flying towards the high altitude.

They also planned to check on the city wall’s progress, since they were already out, they might as well go have a look.

However, this was also a temporary decision, so they stayed at the farmland a bit longer, sending someone to the Tribe to bring the hot air balloon over.

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*

The flames on the hot air balloon kept burning, and the hot air balloon continued flying into the high altitude.

They had to fly higher to better see the entire forest’s appearance.

“Shaman, building such a long city wall will definitely take an enormous amount of time, right?” Yu Ying suddenly asked. She normally didn’t understand these things, but seeing this vast project now, her heart still felt very impressed.

Building such a tall and long wall was very difficult. Even building cement houses was already very difficult, let alone a city wall for such a long distance.

“It will definitely take a very long time. It might need one or two years to complete. This is only my relatively short estimate.” Su Bai’s hands supported him at the hot air balloon’s edge, continuing. “If the progress isn’t smooth or there aren’t enough people, three to five years is also very possible.”

Because the area this city wall now surrounded was truly too vast, starting construction from near that great river. Finally, extending all the way into the forest, encompassing a tremendous amount of forest territory within.

If everything within the city walls counted as the Flame Dragon Tribe, then the Flame Dragon Tribe’s current area would be comparable to a second-tier city back on Earth.

Accommodating over a hundred thousand people inside would be no problem. Of course, with such a wide area, to build a city wall encompassing such a wide area, it wouldn’t take just a few years.

“Ah, so it needs this long. I thought it could be built before the snow season arrived.” Yu Ying said naively. She did not understand this sort of thing, so of course she would think this way. Moreover, when she heard Shaman talking with Shan Qiu before, that’s what it was.

At the time it was definitely to be built before the snow season arrived, in order to resist the crazed Ferocious Beasts during the eternal night.

“Hahahahaha…” Su Bai laughed heartily, continuing: “Of course I also hoped it could be built before the snow season, but the construction scope was temporarily changed, so naturally the time needed increased.”

After he arranged this task for Shan Qiu at the time, the next day he thought about it for a very long time.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt building a city wall now was too uneconomical. Since they were building a city wall, why not expand the wall’s area a bit more?

At first, he thought of building the wall based on the current foundation, temporarily resisting the Ferocious Beasts first.

Letting the Tribe safely pass through this phase, then afterwards consider expanding the Tribe’s area.

But after careful consideration, he felt this was somewhat superfluous. Build it first then demolish it? Where would they get that much manpower and materials?

Moreover, he also started thinking of methods, thinking about how to resist those crazed Ferocious Beasts this year.

“Shaman, can our Tribe’s area really reach this large in the future?” Yan Hua also supported her hands on the edge of the hot air balloon basket.

She had just used binoculars to look around and discovered the wall construction was proceeding steadily.

The current progress of wall construction was that the position on the great river’s side had already been surrounded.

Of course, this didn’t mean the height had also reached the originally designed height, but rather they first built a height of two people. Afterwards, continuing this height, slowly surrounding it. The current encirclement had surrounded the Tribe’s great river side.

Then the current direction was starting to surround towards the forest’s two sides, finally forming an encirclement within the forest.

In other words, there were two teams of workers starting construction from the Tribe’s left and right sides, finally converging at one point.

“As long as the city wall surrounds it, all the positions within the city wall are our Tribe’s area.”

Su Bai picked up the binoculars and also began observing, continuing: “Such a large area can accommodate a lot of. In the future our Tribe will become a Super Large Tribe.”

“A Super Large Tribe? I’ve only heard of Large Tribes. Super Large Tribes must definitely be even larger than Large Tribes.” Yu Ying exclaimed. She felt reclaiming the Ancestral Land was already very fortunate, because the Ancestral Land was much larger than the temporary place they lived before. If the place the city wall was about to surround that they were now seeing was all the Tribe’s future area, that could truly be called a Super Large Tribe.

“Shaman, if it becomes a Super Large Tribe, we’ll definitely need to ride carriages for a very long time when we go out in the future.” Sha Lan covered her mouth and laughed.

Because today riding the carriage from the Yong’an Building to this farmland took three or four hours. If the wall’s encirclement truly reached the originally designed area, travelling from the Yong’an Building to the other side would probably take most of a day.

“Perhaps in the future we won’t need carriages.” The corners of Su Bai’s mouth lifted slightly.

“Shaman, carriages are so convenient, why wouldn’t we use carriages? Walking would definitely take two or three days.” Yan Hua asked curiously.

Yan Hua quite liked the carriage as a transportation vehicle. At least travelling was truly very convenient.

Of course, this was only limited to travelling within the Tribe, and now it extended to the farmland within the forest.

“Perhaps in the future there will be even more powerful transportation vehicles. What if the speed is even faster than carriages? Would you choose to continue riding carriages?” Su Bai’s eyebrows raised slightly.

A massive plan began forming in his mind. No, to be precise, when he prepared to implement the key plan, these plans were already in his mind.

Cars, trains, aeroplanes from Earth; if they could appear in the Primitive Era, what an insane thing that would be.

However, this was not an easy matter. He had to continue developing the Tribe.

Like the current Flame Dragon Tribe’s only relatively advanced thing was probably that steam engine.

However, long ago on Earth, there were quite a few steam engines made into steam transportation vehicles.

But making steam transportation vehicles in the Primitive Era would definitely still require developing for a period of time.

“If that’s the case, then I’d definitely choose the new transportation vehicle.” Yan Hua said without hesitation.

“All of this must come slowly. After all, our Tribe is getting better and better, isn’t it?” Su Bai suddenly felt emotional.

Indeed, the current Flame Dragon Tribe completely couldn’t compare with before. Although the development speed wasn’t especially fast, it was especially steady.

As long as they maintained this steady speed and continued developing, the Flame Dragon Tribe’s future would be bright.

Su Bai also didn’t want to take steps that were too fast all at once. That would be very easy to overextend. It would be bad if in the end it backfired.

“Yes.” Sha Lan and the others responded in unison.
