I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 827, Well Water Does Not Interfere with River Water

Translator: Silavin

Today was exceptionally fine weather, with clear skies stretching in every direction and sunshine that was not overly scorching.

On the contrary, gentle breezes swept past intermittently, bringing a warm and comfortable sensation.

Yan Hua, Sha Lan, and Ga had already finished their preparations and were ready to depart from the Tribe into the forest.

They were heading into the forest to search for Stone Thorn Trees. Originally, several people had been assigned to this task. However, to avoid drawing too much attention, only the three of them went. Moreover, Sha Lan and her companion possessed considerable skills in combat.

They could handle themselves well in the unpredictable primitive forest, and together their combined strength was not inferior to Ga.

Most importantly, they carried weapons. Even if Ga harboured any ulterior motives, she would have no opportunity to act on them.

*Step step step…*

The three departed Flame Dragon Tribe aboard a hot air balloon. They had initially planned to traverse the forest on foot.

However, this would consume considerable time and significantly increase the danger level. No one knew whether the Dark Scorpion Tribe had arranged additional personnel concealed within the forest. For safety’s sake, the aerial route was preferable.

“Is this the extraordinary device you used to achieve victory?” Ga suddenly asked.

When she had first observed the hot air balloon and its ascent, the scorpion girl had suppressed her curiosity.

She felt she could not appear too ignorant. If no one else had been present, she certainly would have cried out in amazement.

But her curiosity was simply too intense. It was not until the hot air balloon had travelled some distance that she recalled yesterday’s defeat.

They had all been advancing through the forest together. Why had the opposing force discovered them so quickly?

Although the Flame Dragon Tribe possessed some winged individuals, their numbers were limited.

Having these people transport everyone one by one to establish ambush positions in the forest seemed rather impractical.

But now, having seen this hot air balloon, the scorpion girl understood everything.

Those winged individuals had been responsible for reconnaissance, locating their positions. Once identified, the hot air balloon transported forces to establish advance positions.

Finally, they had achieved victory using those unfamiliar weapons. It had truly required minimal effort.

“You are rather clever.” Yan Hua did not wish to explain further.

Any observant person could deduce this, particularly the defeated party, who would naturally learn from the experience.

The hot air balloon’s capacity could accommodate numerous passengers. Most importantly, it could traverse the dangerous, dense primitive forest. It both shortened travel time and avoided most hazards. So, the scorpion girl being able to deduce this was unremarkable.

“Did the Shaman develop these?” Ga enquired.

She began wondering internally what sort of person Flame Dragon Tribe’s Shaman truly was. Despite appearing quite young, he could create so many remarkable innovations that left people astounded.

“Yes, the Shaman conceived of everything,” Yan Hua nodded.

The normally talkative Yan Hua had become taciturn, her expression particularly guarded.

Her wariness towards the scorpion girl had not diminished. She still felt this person harboured malicious intentions.

However, since they were undertaking this mission together, creating excessive tension in the atmosphere would be inappropriate. The questions being asked were inconsequential anyway.

She merely needed to respond perfunctorily. No sensitive information would be revealed regardless.

“I’m still curious. Since you detest the Dark Scorpion Tribe so much, why did you continue residing within that Tribe?” Sha Lan asked suddenly.

Last night, with so many people present, she had not felt comfortable asking such questions. But now, with only three of them, she needed to seize the opportunity to dig further.

“They did raise me from childhood, after all. And I had nowhere else to go.” Ga blinked her green eyes and continued, “Also, given Dark Scorpion Tribe’s capabilities, I would be discovered no matter where I fled.”

The scorpion girl had naturally considered leaving. However, Dark Scorpion Tribe’s subordinates were distributed across too many locations.

Previously, others from the Dark Scorpion Tribe had attempted escape. All had been captured and returned.

Consequently, Ga decided to just accept it. She would simply undertake missions and go out, spending her remaining time within the Tribe.

Another reason was her Younger Brother, who was fanatically devoted to the Dark Scorpion Tribe. She could only remain alongside him.

“Since you believe fleeing anywhere would result in Dark Scorpion Tribe’s recapture, why did you choose to join our Tribe?” Sha Lan continued questioning.

Like Yan Hua, she harboured considerable hostility towards this individual and dared not trust her easily.

“I don’t think I need to say much about your Flame Dragon Tribe’s capabilities. Although I do not thoroughly understand your Tribe…” Ga’s green eyes gazed into the distance as she continued, “I know you possess the strength to contend with the Dark Scorpion Tribe.”

Within less than two days, the scorpion girl had developed a general understanding of Flame Dragon Tribe.

Although her knowledge was not exhaustively detailed, any observant person recognised that Flame Dragon Tribe was extraordinary.

“Our Tribe absolutely will not permit your Tribe to take advantage of us again,” Yan Hua spoke with particular vehemence.

Yan Hua, recalling when Flame Dragon Tribe had previously been invaded by Black Snake Tribe, invariably felt an inexplicable fury igniting within her. Her current intense dislike of Ga stemmed from the Black Snake Tribe situation.

After all, Black Snake Tribe was a subordinate of the Dark Scorpion Tribe. Without the Dark Scorpion Tribe’s instructions, Black Snake Tribe would not have invaded another Tribe.

“Your Tribe’s current capabilities mean you will not be taken advantage of. Now it is you who take advantage of others.” Ga remarked flatly.

She remained fascinated by the hot air balloon’s remarkable nature. Such an apparently simple device could achieve flight was truly incomprehensible.

It seemed only the Flame Dragon Tribe possessed this technology. She had neither observed nor heard of such devices in other Tribes.

The Dark Scorpion Tribe maintained extensive intelligence networks. If other Tribes possessed such technology, the Dark Scorpion Tribe could not possibly remain ignorant of it. They would likely attempt to seize these devices from other Tribes. This clearly indicated that only the Flame Dragon Tribe possessed them.

“We would never take advantage of others. As the Shaman says, ‘well water does not interfere with river water’.” Yan Hua stated earnestly.

Although she had required a ton of time to comprehend this phrase initially, it did not prevent her from articulating it now.

“The Shaman also said we do not fear trouble, but we do not provoke it either. However, if anyone attempts to bully us, we absolutely will not forgive them.” Sha Lan immediately added.

Sha Lan and her companion had previously heard Su Bai speak these words when they had discussed seeking vengeance.

“What a truly peculiar phrasing.” Ga could not comprehend these statements.

Her focus remained entirely on locating Stone Thorn Trees. She had no spare time to contemplate such sayings.

Yan Hua and Sha Lan resembled individuals doused with cold water, likewise turning their attention to searching for Stone Thorn Trees.
