I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 825, Sooner or Later, It Will All Be Mine

“Shaman, these are the boots produced by the workshop. Could you examine whether they meet the required standards?” Yan Jiao passed over a pair of boots.

When rubber had first been discovered, Su Bai had immediately sketched design diagrams and conceptualised the manufacturing methodology for rubber footwear.

The workshop had been established during overnight sessions, after all, with the discovery of natural rubber, fabricating footwear from this material presented no insurmountable technical challenges.

The workshop’s production proceeded with remarkable efficiency. Following Su Bai’s methodology and technical diagrams, they rapidly manufactured this inaugural pair of boots.

From rubber discovery to boot fabrication, the entire process consumed approximately eight to nine days.

While the velocity wasn’t particularly extraordinary, by Primitive Era standards, it was acceptable progress.

“Good.” Su Bai accepted the boots and commenced his examination.

He observed that the structural integration appeared satisfactory, with the sole manufactured according to the design specifications with appropriate thickness.

The overall flexibility proved acceptable as well. The tactile sensation was not excessively rigid, and the internal sole demonstrated reasonable compression characteristics when pressure was applied.

For the Primitive Era, achieving this quality standard with rubber boots was genuinely commendable. Certainly, far superior to wearing only Straw Sandals.

“Shaman, how does it look? Are there any aspects that need improvement?” Yan Jiao enquired with curiosity.

These rubber boots had already undergone two or three revision cycles. Each version would have things to improve upon. In the past, either they were rigid like stone, or entirely too pliable. They bore no resemblance to proper boots whatsoever. The former were hard as weapons, while the latter were so soft that small pebbles could penetrate through them.

Alternatively, the overall structural integrity was poor, readily tearing, which naturally diminished their durability. Or the internal comfort was completely absent. It was too rigid and caused discomfort to the feet.

The Warriors needed to do daily training, and when executing missions, they would traverse forests and wade through rivers. If these rubber boots lacked comfort and caused foot discomfort, they would severely impact their operational effectiveness.

“This pair has finally reached the standard I want. Proceed with manufacturing according to this pair’s production process. Remind them not to make them too rigid.” Su Bai instructed carefully.

Actually, under these environmental conditions, achieving this quality with rubber boots was already quite remarkable.

The manufacturing of rubber boots in the Primitive Era was not particularly complex. The critical factor was temperature control.

During the heating and purification of rubber, careful attention was essential. Subsequently, the material needed to be poured into pre-prepared molds.

Once the rubber boots cooled, removing the molds would yield a satisfactory pair of rubber boots.

The moulds comprised only three components: one for the sole section, one for the insole, and another for the boot shaft.

The sole naturally required greater rigidity to ensure wear resistance, durability, and adaptability to challenging terrain. The insole needed to be more pliable, providing comfort during use and preventing foot discomfort. The final component was the boot shaft. Its manufacture was relatively straightforward, requiring it to only have the right structural integrity.

“Understood. After so many trials and errors, we’ve finally produced a qualified pair. Everyone will definitely appreciate these boots.” Yan Jiao responded with excitement.

Actually, when he first received this pair of footwear, he had been extraordinarily excited. The overall impression he had was already great.

He had not anticipated that liquid extracted from trees could be transformed into footwear, and such excellent footwear at that.

The original Straw Sandals had already seemed remarkable. Now, a fully enclosed footwear has been invented.

They provided excellent protection for the feet, and their durability was undoubtedly exceptionally high.

This was what truly astonished Yan Jiao. The appearance of these rubber boots would elevate the Flame Dragon Tribe’s quality of life once again.

This aspect alone exceeded Yan Jiao’s expectations entirely. He had to admire the Shaman’s wisdom.

“Have them work additional shifts to mass-produce more. Quickly provide them to the Warriors and Warrior Trainees first.”

Su Bai smiled slightly, continuing, “Later, when conditions permit, we’ll provide them to everyone in the Tribe.”

Newly invented items couldn’t possibly satisfy everyone’s needs immediately.

Therefore, these beneficial items would prioritise the Tribe’s Warriors. Only when their quality of life and capabilities improved could they better protect the Tribe, enabling smoother development of the Tribe. Only with the Tribe’s continued existence could everyone hope for improved living conditions.

“Understood. However, Shaman, what does ‘working additional shifts’ mean? Is it something requiring particular attention?” Yan Jiao’s expression was exceptionally serious, unwilling to overlook any potential improvement area.

“There’s nothing particularly requiring attention. Working additional shifts simply means having them work longer periods, enabling them to quickly manufacture more rubber boots.” Su Bai explained.

“I see. In that case, to obtain better food, they’ll certainly be willing to work additional shifts.” Yan Jiao also adopted this vocabulary.

“En.” Su Bai now felt that introducing these terms were more natural since they had gained some basic knowledge.

“Shaman, we must protect these trees in the forest. We cannot allow others to discover them.” Yan Jiao immediately stated.

He reasoned that since liquid from these trees could manufacture such rubber boots, this valuable resource must be firmly controlled.

“Naturally, there’s no problem. However, while protecting them, also have someone research whether transplanting these trees is possible, and whether they can be cultivated successfully somewhere close by.”

Su Bai supplemented.

Deploying daily guards for these trees was impractical. Such measures would actually attract attention, potentially exposing this secret more rapidly.

The only viable improvement strategy was cultivating these trees themselves, thereby maintaining control of this methodology.

“We’re to cultivate these trees ourselves? But we lack the space for them.” Yan Jiao expressed concern.

“Don’t worry. Simply plant them in the forests surrounding the Tribe. This forest will eventually be ours.” Su Bai smiled.

His ambitions weren’t limited to merely possessing one Tribe. This forest contained such abundant resources that they must be properly secured.

“I understand.” Yan Jiao responded solemnly.
