I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 834, Planning

Yan Hua, Sha Lan, and Su Bai left the Tribe by carriage, preparing to travel to the farmland not far from the Tribe.

Today happened to be the day when the farmland there had been completely organised, and also the day the Tribe’s cement road reached the farmland.

This cement road had taken over half a month to lay, finally reaching the farmland area.

Walking from the Tribe to that stretch of farmland required half a day’s journey. Don’t underestimate this half day. Although the duration wasn’t particularly long, this cement road hadn’t been easy to lay.

Because there were chaotic stones and trees everywhere, plus various potholes and similar external factors.

So, what should have been a simple cement road originally took half a month to complete. If it were just a normal road, it could probably have been finished in four or five days.

*Clop clop clop…*

Two carriages ran swiftly along the freshly dried cement road while Su Bai and the others rested inside the carriages.

“Shaman, this road looks so spacious,” Yu Ying said, pressed against the small window beside her, looking outside. She very rarely had opportunities to leave the Tribe.

In contrast, Yan Hua and the others left the Tribe quite frequently. By now, they no longer had a tremendous desire to leave the Tribe.

Now they simply preferred being together with Su Bai, feeling this sensation was marvellous.

“This feeling of not being jostled about is truly wonderful,” Yan Hua exclaimed.

Yan Hua greatly enjoyed this kind of smooth road. The carriage’s speed upon it was also extremely fast. Previously, there’d been a section inside the Tribe that hadn’t been properly repaired. When the carriage passed through, it shook violently. The violent shaking had made her feel nauseous.

“Having this road will save a ton of time. This way, our Tribe’s people travelling to the farmland won’t need to spend half a day,” Sha Lan also looked outside.

“That’s precisely the desired effect. In future, the Tribe will have even more cement roads extending outward.”

Su Bai smiled faintly and continued, “As long as transportation is convenient, making the entire Tribe progressively better isn’t a difficult problem.”

In many mountainous regions back on Earth, the primary reason was inconvenient transportation, which led to entire villages being unable to prosper. Sometimes villages already possessed tremendously valuable things; for instance, exquisite handicrafts, fragrant fruits, and aromatic tea leaves, amongst others. However, just because transportation was inconvenient, these valuable items fundamentally couldn’t be transported outside the village.

When these items couldn’t be transported outside the village, they couldn’t create wealth for the village. As time accumulated, young people would all depart, and afterwards the village would only gradually decline.

Although this was currently the Primitive Era, convenient transportation was still an extremely important factor.

Only when coming to a Tribe was convenient for others and required a short time would they have motivation to come to this Tribe.

Once many people came to the Flame Dragon Tribe, goods inside the Flame Dragon Tribe would continuously sell outwards.

The Flame Dragon Tribe could also continuously receive all manner of things. This was also laying groundwork for future currency circulation.

“After observing several Tribes previously, I discovered our Tribe truly is wonderful,” Yan Hua said happily, blinking her red eyes.

Previously, because missions required venturing out to annihilate several Tribes, the environments of those Tribes had been absolutely dreadful.

“Shaman, why are we establishing farmland outside?” Sha Lan didn’t quite understand.

When this stretch of farmland was being selected previously, Sha Lan happened to be on a mission outside and still didn’t understand this farmland.

“Our Tribe is continuously expanding. That tiny bit of land outside the Tribe now is not enough.” Su Bai paused before continuing, “Our Tribe will have progressively more people in future. Before that time arrives, we must prepare in advance.”

“I see. Then that bit of farmland outside the Tribe can be used to expand housing,” Sha Lan instantly comprehended.

The Flame Dragon Tribe’s current expansion was extraordinarily well-planned. The location where city walls were being constructed was very distant from the Tribe.

Which meant the Flame Dragon Tribe’s row of wooden walls still existed, waiting only until the city walls were completed before dismantling this row of wooden walls.

This was also what Su Bai had planned in advance. He wasn’t foolish enough to directly construct city walls at the current wooden wall location.

One must understand that once city walls were established, the Tribe’s size would be essentially fixed.

So Su Bai had people expand the city wall perimeter to be extraordinarily wide; meaning the Flame Dragon Tribe’s current area had already expanded to more than twice its original size.

The original Flame Dragon Tribe could accommodate around twenty to thirty thousand people. Now with the expanded area being even larger, it could accommodate even more people.

“Precisely. By next year or the year after, our Tribe can continuously construct cement houses, and our Tribe’s people will continuously have work.”

Su Bai took a deep breath and continued, “Then the farmland can also continuously expand outward. In summary, we’ll get progressively better.”

He wasn’t anxious to use these city walls to resist Ferocious Beasts. Previously, he’d considered constructing them immediately to resist Ferocious Beasts.

However, after considering long-term development, he felt the Tribe’s area should be expanded somewhat more.

*Clop clop clop…*

Just as they continuously conversed, the carriage had arrived at the farmland.

“Shaman, this farmland truly is enormous,” Sha Lan said seriously, looking at the farmland in the distance. She was shocked by this vast expanse of farmland before her eyes. This was several times larger than the Tribe’s original farmland by the entrance.

“Truly enormous. This farmland can certainly cultivate abundant grain,” Yan Hua was also tremendously impressed.

What Yan Hua instantly thought of was that this place could grow abundant food. She hadn’t considered any other aspects.

“Indeed. The grain this farmland produces must supply everyone in our entire Tribe.”

Su Bai also surveyed the vast farmland and continued, “It appears Xiao Yu has organised it exceptionally well.”

He’d previously only roughly told Yu Ying how this farmland should be planned, what grain to cultivate, and so forth. Afterwards, he hadn’t concerned himself with this farmland again. Unexpectedly, today’s inspection turned out surprisingly excellent.

Surveying the expanse, wheat filled everywhere; a lush green vista that felt vital and vigorous.

“This is all planned by the Shaman prepared in advance. Otherwise, I couldn’t have achieved this result,” Yu Ying said shyly.

To manage this farmland, Yu Ying had taken up a ton of her time. Every day, besides preparing food for the Yong’an Building, she had to organise various matters when Sha Lan was absent. She had truly been busy.

“But it’s also been done exceptionally well,” Su Bai praised.
