Chapter 537: What Exactly Is the Way to Break the Situation?

”Amamiya-nii-san, what are you doing?”

Konan curiously watched Kenichi, who was fiddling with some strange-looking contraptions.

For Konan, there was not much else interesting to do inside the dim cave.

”Konan, you’ll know in a bit.”

Kenichi smiled, then continued focusing on the coils in his hands.

He was making a hand cranked generator.

The light bulb connected to it was also something he had made earlier by melting down some filament. Although it was not as good as tungsten filament, it could barely be used.

The only troublesome part was that the glass of the light bulb was a bit strangely colored and did not have much luster.

But Kenichi did not ask for too much.

The power generation principle of a hand cranked generator was actually Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, which generated electricity by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy.

When a hand cranked generator was turned, the rotation of the magnet created a magnetic field, and the coil cut through the magnetic lines, thereby generating an induced electromotive force and producing electricity.

Some gyms in his previous life had similar power generating bicycles, which generated electricity when people pedaled on them.

It could be considered a form of exercise, but most generators of that type were actually very weak and could not produce too much electrical energy.

This meant that if one wanted the light bulb to stay on, one had to keep pedaling.

However, at the very least, it could illuminate this cave.

The hand cranked generator Kenichi made was smaller, and the electrical energy it produced was also smaller.

But it was enough to light up a light bulb.

”It’s a pity that the Shinobi World already has electricity. Otherwise, I might have even unlocked the title of Father of the Industrial Revolution.”

Kenichi wiped his sweat.

Now that the coils were done, he could try generating electricity.

Kenichi cranked the small handle in his hand, rotating it continuously.

Immediately, the dark cave brightened, illuminating Konan’s surprised big eyes.

Kenichi smiled happily.

It was just as he had expected.

Although this hand cranked generator was a bit crude, and the light bulb was very simple, at this moment, it could still light up and illuminate the cave.

This way, the cave would finally no longer be completely dark.

The only problem would probably be that it was quite laborious, as someone would have to keep cranking the handle to keep the light on.

”Wow, it lit up!”

Konan exclaimed, smiling with joy.

Kenichi also showed a hint of a smile.

But then, a loud bang came from above the cave.

Kenichi instantly stopped his hand, and Konan also covered her mouth, following closely behind him.

The cave once again became pitch black.

Kenichi lay by the entrance and glanced outside.

Several people were cutting down trees in the forest, and two ninja stood beside them, talking about something.

Meanwhile, a large amount of rubble rolled down from the top of the hill.

They seemed to be quarrying stone, which made Kenichi a little uneasy.

Although this cave was on the hill, it was hard to say whether anyone would remember it, as it was not too far from the town below.

And judging from the commotion just now, these people seemed to be quarrying by using explosions.

If they continued blasting, the cave would collapse sooner or later.

What would he do then?

What about Konan?

As Kenichi pondered, two ninja approached, startling him.

He gripped the Black Rod tightly in his hand, ready to attack immediately if the two ninja showed any intention of opening the door.

Fortunately, the two ninja did not seem to have that thought.

”Sigh, the battles have been getting more and more frequent lately. Do you think those Five Great Nations are really planning to attack our village?”

A ninja sighed, then leaned against the door.

He did not notice anything unusual.

Kenichi could only hear the other party’s voice by lying near the observation hole, but he still gestured for Konan to be quiet.

Konan covered her mouth and nodded, then slowly moved to the innermost part of the cave.

During this period, Kenichi had been busy melting ore and collecting materials to make light bulbs.

But he had also not forgotten his main task.

He had also taught Konan some basic survival knowledge.

Konan was performing very well now.

At the very least, Kenichi felt relieved, since he did not have to worry about Konan making any mistakes.

However, Konan had been able to survive in the Shinobi World with Yahiko in the original work, so she was clearly not a clumsy child.

”Aren’t you talking nonsense? Konoha ninja broke into our territory before, and now I hear from my friend that Konoha ninja have already arrived at the front line. I heard that the one leading them is a woman with a huge chest.”

Another ninja folded his arms, boredly watching the ordinary people they had ordered to cut trees.

Kenichi raised an eyebrow slightly.

So he had thought the war had started before, but it turned out the war had not truly started yet.

It was only just beginning?

A woman from Konoha.

Could it be Tsunade?

However, this was the Second Shinobi World War.

Tsunade and the others had not yet become famous, nor had they obtained the title of the future Three Sannin.

Their fame would only spread after fighting Hanzo.

”So what? Our village’s leader is Lord Hanzo!”

The other ninja was very unconvinced.

What great ninja villages?

What Konoha of the Land of Fire?

They were all trash compared to Lord Hanzo.

Their leader was a man hailed as a Demigod.

”Alright, quickly urge these commoners to work. Be careful, if there aren’t enough people on the front line, they might call you up to die.”

The ninja’s conversation faded away.

The tree cutters in the forest quickly left with wood and stones, but the forest outside had now been completely destroyed.

Kenichi looked outside, then looked at his small cave and could not help sighing.

”Looks like we have to move again.”

Kenichi had a bit of a headache.

He did not know where to go if he wanted to move.

But the problem was that not moving was too dangerous, which put Kenichi in a dilemma for a while.

During wartime, the entire Land of Rain became a battlefield.

Ninja were fighting in almost every place.

No matter where they went, it seemed difficult to completely avoid the aftermath of the war.

But if they did not move, and the blasting and quarrying continued, the collapse of this cave would only be a matter of time.

”Since I can’t solve the problem, then I just need to solve the people who create the problem.”

Kenichi narrowed his eyes.

From the conversation of these ninja today, Kenichi knew that these townspeople had been forced by ninja to come out and quarry stones and cut trees.

So he only needed to get rid of these two ninja, and then the townspeople would naturally stop coming.

Right?

Kenichi felt somewhat helpless.

War enveloped the entire Shinobi World.

Even if he killed these two ninja, other ninja would come to supervise these people in quarrying stones and cutting trees.

They would even investigate how these ninja died.

He felt that he was in a very awkward situation at this moment.

He wanted to break the illusion, but he did not have enough cards in his hand.

He wanted to research, but he did not know where to go.

His survival ability was even inferior to a trio like Yahiko and the others.

It was suffocating.

However, children like Yahiko and his group inherently had an advantage.

Children were less likely to arouse others’ vigilance.

But he, at seventeen or eighteen years old, could easily be conscripted.

As for whether he would go quarrying or logging, push carts in a transport team, or be sent to work in the mines, that would depend on luck.

No wonder people often said that in a prosperous age, it was better to be a dog than a human in chaotic times.

[Rally an organization to resist Amegakure’s tyranny, thereby gaining financial support from the Five Great Nations. Then pledge allegiance to them as a dog and wait for the right opportunity to develop?]

Kenichi wrote on the paper.

He thought of some political landscapes from his previous life.

For example, before he transmigrated, a certain country had caused Schindler’s List to drop from a high rating to a low one, brazenly occupied another people’s land, and then shamelessly used mythological stories to claim it as their deed.

And the people of that country adopted...

”Urban warfare, tunnel warfare, gaining strategic buffer opportunities, and at the same time gaining aid from certain countries...”

Kenichi muttered to himself, suddenly feeling as if something had flashed through his mind.

Kenichi pulled out a copy of History of Warfare and flipped through it.

There was no record of such small conflicts in it.

Perhaps for an entire war, the conflict in that country from his previous life could only be considered a small conflict.

”Urban warfare is definitely not an option. If I go to Amegakure now, I’ll be throwing myself away. As for the other Five Great Nations, that’s even more impossible.”

Kenichi muttered to himself while writing his thoughts in a notebook.

Tunnel warfare might be worth a try.

But it was hard to say whether these ninja would simply destroy all the tunnels he prepared with Earth Release ninjutsu.

So tunnel warfare could only be attempted.

However, the Land of Rain had one advantage that made it suitable for tunnel warfare.

That was the weather of the Land of Rain.

It was called the Land of Rain because it rained a lot.

And heavy rainfall led to relatively soft soil in this country, somewhat like a certain country in his previous life that had caused Americans to suffer from jungle phobia.

So digging tunnels would be relatively easier.

But reinforcement would also be needed.

Otherwise, it would be no different from digging his own grave.

”The Second Shinobi World War... I only remember that this war seemed to be caused by economic disparity. In other words, the people of the Five Great Nations were dissatisfied with the current distribution of benefits, which led to this war.”

Kenichi pondered the plot.

The Second Shinobi World War was not mentioned much.

But the final result was that the Five Great Nations used the Land of Rain as a battlefield, then ended the discussion about unbalanced economic development through war.

And the reason why the Land of Rain was caught in the crossfire was probably because the Five Great Nations did not want the war to spread to their own territories.

So they chose a small country as the battlefield.

The Land of Rain itself did not have much profit for the Five Great Nations to harvest.

It could even be said that this small country, the Land of Rain, was not even qualified to be a snack.

Even if the Five Great Nations devoured the Land of Rain completely, it would only be like eating a cherry when they were hungry.

”In other words, for the Five Great Nations, it didn’t matter who was in power in the Land of Rain. However, the Demigod Hanzo was clearly unwilling to let the Land of Rain be wantonly trampled by the Five Great Nations, which was why he resisted the Five Great Nations and even caused considerable trouble for their ninja.”

Kenichi narrowed his eyes.

Could an ordinary person rise to power?

Naturally, they could.

But it was very troublesome.

Extremely troublesome.

In the context of a total war, it was too reliant on luck for an ordinary person to rise to power.

Not everyone could start with a bowl and end up on the throne of the Ninety Five Supremes like Zhu Yuanzhang.

And even Zhu Yuanzhang had risen with assistance.

”If I want to get help from the Five Great Nations...”

Kenichi scratched his head.

If he could control the Land of Rain, his growth speed would be faster.

But thinking about it carefully, it seemed like a pipe dream.

Why would the Five Great Nations help him?

He was just an ordinary person now.

To get the Five Great Nations to fund him, he would have to show his value.

Then, even if he did not say anything, the Five Great Nations would notice him and try to win him over.

Just like the future Akatsuki.

They at least had the qualifications to be used.

But the current Kenichi did not even have the qualification to be used.

”Digging tunnels, then using food as an opportunity to recruit those who lost loved ones in the war, thereby...”

Kenichi paused.

Wasn’t this the Akatsuki?

However, the Akatsuki was established based on Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan, the three disciples of Jiraiya, and it was also established on the foundation of ninja.

Without a strong person at the level of a ninja to hold the fort, the Akatsuki would not be able to develop, nor would it attract the attention of other ninja villages.

In other words, unless the current Kenichi could bring out something that could hold the fort, he would not enter the eyes of these ninja.

Kenichi knew many things.

Nuclear weapons were the crudest and most direct things.

But making nuclear weapons was impossible with the current industrial level, and he did not have the equipment or research technology now.

Then Kenichi thought of Hanzo, the Demigod of Amegakure.

Hanzo was undoubtedly a ruthless person.

The current him truly lived up to his title of Demigod, fighting with all his might without fear of death.

He was unlike his later years, when he became indecisive and two faced, to the point that even his former defeated enemy Mifune lamented that Hanzo was no longer the Hanzo of the past.

But the current Hanzo was undoubtedly strong.

He had caused considerable trouble for the Five Great Nations.

However, if that was the case, the Five Great Nations would definitely be eager to see Hanzo make a fool of himself.

If Kenichi caused Hanzo some trouble at this time, then perhaps he would have some value to be utilized.

Kenichi narrowed his eyes.

A plan gradually formed in his mind, though its implementation would be somewhat dependent on luck.

What Kenichi had to do was increase his chances of winning as much as possible when gambling with the Goddess of Fortune.

”So troublesome... Is this really a genjutsu?”

Kenichi was a bit confused.
